Coble is back with another gripping story. This one builds on the first in the Lavendar Tides series, but stands well on its own. Grayson’s life has been upended with news that he was adopted. Ellie’s life has been overturned by the disappearance and likely death of her sister. Grayson is determined to show that Mac was behind a cocaine theft, while Ellie is desperate to prove that her sister is still alive and innocent. Through twists and turns the two spend time together trying to work the way to the truth. It’s complicated, layered, twisted, and a good read. One that romantic suspense readers will thoroughly enjoy.
‘Nothing could define her unless she let it. She had God in her life to heal those broken places, but she hadn’t let him do it.”
Ellie Blackmore flips houses and is happy doing it. In fact, the next house she flips is her dream house and she intends to keep it as her own. Then her sister, MacKenzie goes missing and she begins to learn things about her that aren’t all that pleasant. MacKenzie’s boat has blood stains on it and she is believed to be dead. Mac’s ex husband and she are on bad terms but surely he wouldn’t kill her.
Coast Guard investigator Grayson Bradshaw comes to investigate a lot of missing cocaine and suspects MacKenzie of the theft. Then he himself learns something shocking and surprising about his own life. Things are not always what they seem.
Ellie and Grayson are both attracted to one another, but will his suspicions about her sister derail that attraction? They must work together to discover the evil at work here.
From international intrigue, terrorism and family secrets, Colleen Coble again weaves her deft hand at mysteries. I have been a fan for a very long time and will continue to be. This is one of her best. Highly recommended.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers through Net Galley. The opinions stated in the review above are entirely my own.
I enjoyed reading the story, if you like strong men and women you will like the story a suspenseful story till the end
OH!MY!WORD! What an adventure! I was immediately immersed into the story. I’ve enjoy visiting the gorgeous coastal town of Lavender Tides. The sense of community is so special. The focus on the tall ships in this novel was an added bonus. I’m looking forward to the final installment in this series.
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean, romantic suspense.
I borrowed a copy from my local library. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
I enjoyed this book just as I enjoy all her books. It was entertaining and kept my interest from the first page until the last.
Good read
This was one of my first Colleen Coble books, and I loved it. The plot was fast-paced and it always kept me guessing; I had no idea how it all fit together until the end, which I loved. I also really liked the characters and how realistic they were. I could really relate to Ellie and how she felt the need to hide; it honestly made me cry.
Anyway, this was an amazing book and it’s what’s gotten me hooked on Colleen Coble. She is a gifted author.
A great read
Great
I enjoyed this book. Did not want to lay it down. Kept my attention as it was in predictable. Always like a good ending.
I love Colleen Coble! She is a brilliant writer who captures my attention usually on the first page or two and draws me into the story. I usually finish her books in a couple of days!
really enjoyed the characters and action in this book
This is a wonderful Christian mystery. It is also a romance novel as well. Ellie flips houses and has a good business going in Puget Sound. But she is sidetracked when her sister MacKenzie is missing and there is lots of blood on her boat where she was last seen. Grayson is assigned the case to find out what happened when a whole load of cocaine is missing and all fingers point to MacKenzie. Grayson also discovers he was adopted and his biological family is a close friend to MacKenzie and Ellie. There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot.
Couldn’t put it down.
I Always love Coleen Coble and read her books in one day.
I love the mystery and suspense. Very well crafted.
Really enjoyed this book…some interesting twists, working through issues I had never thought to consider, very good book…
A GREAT book – interesting characters and so many details going on in their lives. I loved the setting and the female character who was so capable with remodeling. Not the typical feminine role – it’s nice to see “strong” women as main characters as mystery was being solved.
Love this book. It’s part of a series but can be read alone. Gripping characters, action packed and just the right amount of romance. Will keep you guessing til the end!
Another great book by Colleen Coble. I love the mixture of romance and adventure. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
