I was talking with @hannah about how Stephenie Meyer is writing a new adult thriller and how I will totally read it. And even though everyone gives Meyer shit for Twilight, I really enjoyed her “adult” science fiction novel The Host.
I have read this super long book (over 600 pages!) at least a half dozen times and the romance and the alien …
This is one of my favorite books. I have reread it more time than I can count. However, the beginning is really slow. Everytime I reread it, I always start about 100 pages in when the story starts to pick up. After that I always get engrossed in the characters and fall in love with them all over again.
One of my all time favorite books. I am not a big fan of books about aliens or sci-fi stuff but I really enjoyed this book. It is a big book but well worth the read.
Yes, this novel was written by Stephenie Meyer. Yes, Stephenie Meyer also wrote the Twilight series. No, this book is not about vampires or werewolves. The Host is actually about aliens. Okay, yeah that sounds as bad as vampires or werewolves, but it really isn’t. I really, truly, loved reading the Host and it is one of my favorites now. The Host …
This book is a quick read. The story follows a young woman who has acquired a parasitic host yet retains herself. Interesting thoughts and interactions with other characters. Not anything like the Twilight Series.
Unlike her better known Twilight series, The Host is a fast paced Sci-Fi Thriller which takes place in the not too distant future. The Earth has become a very peaceful, even polite and courteous place. So what exactly is the problem? Humans are no longer in control of their own minds and bodies. Outwardly, they look the same but inwardly an alien …
This book is beyond amazing! It covers so many things, a unique love triangle, the basis of being human, and a kindness that transcends the basic notion of human kindness. It had me crying at the end. It was wonderful and I would read it again and again.
A really good book! I had no idea how it was going to end until I got there.
This is in my top 5 of favorite books. It was different from most Sci-fi thrillers which I love but this one I think even people who don’t favor Sci-fi would like it. I suggested it to a friend who hates Sci-fi and she liked it.
I didn’t expect to really like it bc si-fi is really not my thing when it comes to reading. But I ended up loving the book. Of course I should have known it would be good bc who she is hello Twilight..
I refused to put it down and I’m still waiting for the next one in line.
Thought provoking.
This book is so great! I think a lot of people don’t give this book a chance because they don’t like Twilight (and therefore think they don’t like Stephenie Meyer), but it’s definitely well-written and has a completely different premise. I think everyone should give this book a shot!
THE HOST really surprised me. All of the characters are well developed but the main characters, Wanderer and Melanie are complex and mesmerizing.
I wasn’t a big fan of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series due to the topic but there is no denying her gift as an author. THE HOST is a fantastic and unpredictable adventure.
Loved this book, but it didn’t really get started until about page 100.
Love reading Stephanie Meyers Books
I loved this book. I had had high exceptions for this book and the author didn’t disappoint. All the characters are amazing. You never want to stop reading it. It’s packed from front to back with action. Every time someone tries to hurt Wanderer you feel bad for her. Like Wanda, you fall in love with Jamie, Jared, and Ian. It’s full of action and …
I only made a few chapters in of this book, I couldn’t finish it.
This one wasn’t as good, in my opinion, as the Twilight series. I liked it, though. Just not as awesomely romantic as her other books. It was definitely unique and enthralling, though.
I read this book in middle school, and it remains one my favorite books to this day. I loved the characters and their complexity and interactions. The world itself was original and inventive.
