Could the handsome and wealthy artist Eric North be the partner she seeks? Will her drive to complete the list be enough to overcome her fear of him discovering the scars left from years of abuse? Will Eric protect her from her ex-husband, or will she go home with her unrequited love, Brady Ross, and give up her one chance to complete The Horse List?
Reader Alert Ava explores the depths of her passion and embarks on a personal journey to fulfill the dark sexual fantasies of her personal Horse List. About the Author: Anna Lores, an avid romance reader, started writing romance as a by-product of insomnia. After a year of late night reading, she decided to write a romantic novel of her own. She “borrowed” her son’s laptop after he went to bed each night, and set about breathing life to her very own characters. After a month of writing every night, her husband surprised her with a new laptop of her own to pursue her dreams. With a B.A. in English Literature and a desire to fill her world with wonderful stories she and her friends could not just talk about, but gush over, she shed the job as Mom of three in the late night hours and assumed her alter ego of dirty girl

A friend recommended this book to me. I’ve never read a story in this genre before, so I wasn’t sure if I’d take to it. The story is of Ava, abused and controlled by a dominant husband and his family. She meets Eric, a mysterious billionaire, who agrees to help her with her Horse List. This list is her path to liberation. The story gathers pace quickly, drawing the characters out superbly well. Some are great. Some are heinous. The author paints them with such skill and ease. The ending has a real twist which left me wanting the sequel immediately.
The love scenes are very graphic, very steamy, and told with precision. It will leave you breathless. Nothing is off limits. Any reader who likes eroticism will love this. Simply put. It’s fabulous.
The Horse List is an emotional roller coaster. I’m a huge fan of Anna Lores, and this book delivered the complex characters, steamy scenes, and all-consuming romance of her other books. Where this series is different is the overwhelming amount of suspense. I couldn’t put it down because I was too worried about the heroine, Ava.
Ava is divorced and decided to fulfill a list of desires before moving back to her childhood small town. What starts as a fun idea turns into a whole new life where she is offered everything a woman could ever want or need in Eric North. Eric is swoon-worthy in every way and should be Ava’s happily-ever-after (I was ready to step in her place in a heartbeat.) This is Lores area of expertise. Her characters are complex, realistic, and get under the reader’s skin. You love them or hate them…by her design.
However, something is wrong with Ava and she can’t shake her ex-husband. With each turn of the page more of his psycho behavior is revealed until my danger warning system went on alert. It got to the point where my heart rate accelerated when he appeared, not just Ava’s. He is that scary! Being a semi-sensitive reader, I did have to skip a scene in his house because it was too much for me. Tender hearts beware. However, I love books which evoke strong emotional responses, so hats off to Lores.
Of course, I’m already devouring book 2. Twists, turns, and scares pushed me through the cliffhanger ending into the next book immediately. I’m emotionally invested in Ava and must follow her to her happily-ever-after. Overall, I highly recommend this series for those strong-hearted readers who want a thrilling ride with a loveable heroine.
An absolutely intense and emotional book, it wrecked me. My first major impression was just, Wow. This book. I’m almost lost for words it was so freaking good. Every page, every action, every scenario just built up this huge, deeply intense, and disturbing story. It made me feel things, like the first time I read Heart of Darkness. I felt like I was in Ava’s head the whole time. Her abuser was psychotic and relentless, and so many times I thought she’d persevere or at least reach out. She was intelligent, a doctor, but still fell victim and got lost in her victimization. It was hard to read at times, I kept thinking that she would open up and get the help she needed. Maybe she was stuck in a kind of arrogance that intelligent people get sometimes, thinking she wasn’t a victim when she totally was, believing that she was smart enough to get away from it by herself, hoping that she could move on by ignoring the connection to the pain she held inside. In her quest to break away, she found an outlet and her sexual explorations were hot and vividly described. There were plot twists and a complete pivot from out of nowhere. Heck, this book has me questioning my own friends right now. It ends with a cliffhanger but I’m definitely reading more. Really well-done book! Bravo!.
Many people have a bucket list. Ava Black has her horse list, a list of sensual escapades she wants to experience. Walking into the tattoo parlor opens her eyes to a whole new world, including sexy billionaire, Eric North. He’s demanding but nothing like her stalker ex-husband, who watches her every move. Eric vows to protect her from her ex while checking off every item on her horse list. But Ava has deep scars from her marriage and she’s not looking to become Eric’s wife. As her ex amps up his threats, she needs Eric more than ever. Eric promises her the moon but what happens when her horse list is complete? Can she trust Eric enough with all her secrets or will she run away in fear?
Wow, The Horse List is an evocative, erotic romantic suspense I couldn’t stop reading. When it comes to Anna Lores, I know I’m in for a very well-written erotic romance. But in The Horse List, she surprised me with her suspenseful writing. I hadn’t been reading long before I despised Ava’s ex-husband. Never have I read such a depraved human being and reading his exploits made my skin crawl. There’s also a mystery vibe surrounding Eric but with him, I know he’s looking out for Ava. The plot moves at a great pace with a balance of smoking hot bedroom scenes and dangerous suspense scenes. I connected with Ava and found myself rooting for her. The emotional turmoil inside Ava is realistic and my heart went out to her. The ending was completely satisfying, and I didn’t want it to end. If you love erotic romantic suspense, pick up The Horse List. Highly recommend!
