Teach me everything. My whole life, I’ve been a good girl. I follow rules like nobody’s business. I obey guidelines like I was born to it. Show me a line, and I’ll toe it.I’m even a twenty-two-year-old virgin. Good is my middle name. And then, I break one tiny little rule. Miniscule. Inconsequential.Next thing I know, I’m trapped with an incredibly handsome stranger. He’s got eyes like cut … handsome stranger. He’s got eyes like cut emeralds, biceps that makes my head spin, and a smile that has me rethinking all my life choices.
We escape a bar bathroom together. We go on an impromptu date. We share the hottest kiss I’ve ever had, one that leaves me panting for more. We promise to see each other again.
Turns out, we see each other the next morning.
In my calculus class.
Which he’s teaching.
My handsome, sexy date is Professor Loveless, and we’ll be seeing each other plenty. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all semester.
There’s no choice but to call it off. We both have too much at stake: I could lose my scholarship, and he could lose his entire career.
But I can’t call off the way I feel.
I can’t call off the way he looks when he rolls up his sleeves and explains imaginary numbers.
I can’t call off the heated glances, or the way our hands touch when I hand in my homework, or the memory of his body pressing against mine that night.
I’m a virgin.
He’s my professor.
And if we give in, it could cost us both everything.
But I’m so tired of being a good girl.
The Hookup Equation is a complete standalone romantic comedy with enough steam to fog your glasses.

This is book 4 of the Loveless Brothers, Caleb the youngest brothers story. Caleb has been given a position as assistant professor after seven long years of academia. Tahlia and Caleb meet by chance and are immediately attracted to each other, after spending an evening together they make a second date not realizing that she is his student. Both know nothing can happen between them but both cannot stop thinking of each other. When boundaries are crossed will they be prepared for the fallout, can they survive the consequences. I love this series and cannot wait for Seth’s story and I truly hope Silas will get his own story as well
Absolutely LOVED this book! I think Caleb just might be my favorite Loveless brother. The chemistry between Caleb and Thalia was off the charts! Their first encounter in the mens room was hysterical. The organ scene was one of my favorite parts in the book. Hot, hot, hot! Thalia’s “list” was quite interesting and funny. The fact that Caleb had to Google some of the things on her list was hysterical. Glad they had a chance to try for each one. Lol.
The Loveless family is one of my favorite families in a series. A very tight knit and believable group.
Can’t wait to read the next book in the series, which I’m hoping will be Seth’s story.
Couldn’t put the book down until I found out how it ended.
A beautifully written story filled with lots of steam, touching family moments, and the perfect humiliating meet-cute.
Both Caleb and Thalia are good people. Their relationship isn’t something that either of them take lightly and as much as you sometimes want to get past the slow burn…jumping in to their lusty feelings have huge ramifications for both of them. Caleb is a professor at the university where Thalia is a current attending senior. Yes, Caleb is a new professor, he’s only 28 and Thalia is 22 so their age difference isn’t huge, but the fact that he’s employed there and has the power over grades is what makes this forbidden. There is also an additional taboo factor that she could lose her scholarship due to unethical behavior. So they are both walking on flames, but how do you stay away from the one person who lights your soul on fire?
Roxie does a fantastic job of digging deep into both of their psyche and really looking at the potential risk, but like I said, how do you stay away? Their connection is already so linked from before they knew they were teacher/student it’s hard for them to back away.
Caleb and Thalia are both different and similar on many things. While both very academically oriented, which is highly adorable when it comes to how much they both love lists, charts, being prepared, etc…They come from different backgrounds. What’s sweet though is how they both interact around each other’s families. Where Thalia comes from a very strict, Catholic home, Caleb is the youngest of five boys where you might get called the wrong name, but he’s learned to adapt and could call anyone of his siblings for help.
Their moments together will ignite your pages, but also touch your heart.
If you’ve read other Loveless books you’ll love the updates on all of the family members sprinkled throughout the story, or if this is your first time in the Loveless world, The Hookup Equation can be read as a standalone too.
This story left me feeling unsettled. I love this series and each brother brings out a special feeling. Caleb made me feel protective for him. He falls for Thalia right from the start. The bathroom scene is so funny. What a way to meet her. Then he finds out she is his student he just has trouble doing what he is suppose to.
Thalia is younger, more innocent and somewhat headstrong. She has a way of saying whatever comes to mind. She feels the attraction to Caleb and can’t do what she knows is right either. Together they create a edgy and entertaining relationship. I could not set this down. I loved every part of it except for the ending. I can’t say too much without spoiling it but it left me sad what happens to Caleb. I just felt even though he is portrayed in a somewhat good view he is also left with too much hanging over him that he did not deserve. I think this author does a great job at creating stories that hold my attention while leave me thinking about them. I like how she brought in the previous characters and explained where they fit. It felt somewhat like old home week. I also like her way of telling the background stories of the characters. I appreciate how she just now and then tosses in a little twist…such as Margaret’s emails. I know there is one brother left to tell his story and I hope she has it ready soon…. but I also hope she writes stories for some of the secondary characters. Javier and Bastien are just two more that deserve stories
Another great Loveless brother to swoon over! Caleb and Thalia’s story is great. I love the forbidden aspect of it. These two had chemistry from the very beginning and you can’t help but fall for them. Their story is entertaining and the writing is great. Ms Noir has a wonderful way of weaving a story together that captures the readers attention and keeps you glued to it until the end. Wonderful HEA!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I got an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly…I loved it. My issue with professor/student is usually the power imbalance and the often near-fawning behavior of the younger person. There was none of that here. This was two fully realized people meeting by chance and falling in love at a VERY inconvenient time. The book explores not only the dynamics of this relationship, but slut shaming, virgin shaming, the infantilization of women, and family secrets/substance abuse. It is beautifully written, hot as the hinges of Hades, and funny to boot! Go grab your copy now!
What a fun read, filled with a bit of angst, humor that had me grinning throughout the whole thing, and plenty of smexy times.
Talk about your meet-cute!!! This one surely wins the title. The fact that it doesn’t just end there until they meet again, or that it’s a one night stand etc, but that it’s the beginning of something with a foundation was refreshing. This couple instantly make an emotional connection as they share the same quirky sense of humor and, gasp, go on an actual date! I loved it!
Thalia was always the good Catholic girl and the fact that her horizons are expanded (thank you Caleb) she never really loses that characteristic. With humor and wit, she kept Caleb on his toes even if there were times her jokes fell a little flat. I really enjoyed getting to know her, as well as the burden she carried on her shoulders.
Caleb was perfect for Thalia, well except for the fact it ends up being taboo that he’s with her. Their banter was so much fun and it only made him fall even more for her. I really respected him and the way he lived his life. He’s not an overly possessive hero, but he has a few minutes of jealousy here and there.
I found this couple to be mostly fun, very hot, and wonderful when it came to friends and family. While the shadow of angst follows throughout most of this story, it isn’t until near the end that it lands pretty hard. With a longer length, this really gave me a chance to get to know these characters individually and as a couple and I loved them both.
The secondary characters helped add charm and I found myself smiling more times than not. This really highlights relationships with both friends and family. These relationships are not always perfect but they always felt authentic.
Roxie Noir is one of my must read authors and when The Hookup Equation hit my kindle I knew it meant a few sleepless nights in my future!
Caleb and Thalia’s story is a sweet, sexy fun read that had all the feels. Virginal, good girl Thalia steps across that proverbial line for the first time and pushes her boundaries for Caleb. Caleb is every girls dream guy and the convection he finds with Thalia is hot and unforgettable. When they discover that he’s her professor the breaks are put on but the connection and pull to be together are hard to fight. At risk are her scholarship and his career but these two can’t stay away from each other.
Such a sweet and sexy story! Roxie does it once again
I absolutely adored this book. The fun and engaging story line offers up an enticing blend of intense emotions, drama, humor, sweetness, heat, heart and cuteness. Caleb and Thalia were great characters and so likable. This book is a bit of a slow burn but I thought that this worked really well considering the complicated situation that these characters find themselves in. These two were honestly so perfect for each other and I thought that they were simply adorable together. If you like a book that gives you all the feels you could want and a couple that’s easy to root for be sure to grab this book because it really delivers on both fronts.
I have loved all of these Loveless boys but Caleb might be my new favorite! This book had a deeper, emotional feel to it than the others but still some laugh-out-loud moments. I’m looking forward to seeing how Seth can possible be redeemed…if anyone can do it, Ms. Noir can.
I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review. I would have read it for free with KU regardless and my review is my own opinion.
This was a student professor romance with Caleb, the baby of the Loveless family, and Thalia, who of course he meets right before finding out he’s her teacher. Uhoh. Their first meeting is funny and unforgettable, their first date is special, and then there’s some definite push/pull while they try to fight their attraction. Because, you know, university policy and all that. Plus everyone in their life isn’t real supportive about it.
And the age gap isn’t huge. Like, if they met away from school it would be NBD. These two have a great connection and Caleb is nerdy but hot and so cute with his lists and research. Thalia comes up with lists of her own, but they’re way more fun.
The way things end up is unexpected, at least to me. This was low angst but filled with chemistry and heat and sweet thoughtful moments. I consumed this story, pretty fast. Loved it and this whole series, but you could read this on it’s own if you haven’t read the others.
Annnnd… she does it again! I loved this story so much (and student/teacher stories are not my favorite). If you have read the other Lawless Brothers stories then in this one you will recognize a few characters, we get Caleb’s story here.
This story was well balanced with sass, humor (of course!) angst, a really fantastic meet cute, wonderfully realistic characters and a plot that make me want to go back to school. LOL. I loved that the author took the time to have these character get to know each other. As a reader I could feel their connection but this wasn’t an insta love story. I cannot for the life of me remember the last time I read about two characters going on a date, sharing themselves with each other and then declaring themselves together; it was refreshing.
This is a safe read with no triggers and I highly recommend it for those who devour Rom-Coms. If there was ever a story that would make a killer Hallmark or Netflix romance this is it! I had the pleasure of reading this ARC and I am leaving my honest review.
I think this just may be my new favourite from the Loveless Brothers series! I was hooked from the start and had difficulty putting it down! It’s full of fun, witty banter, hot chemistry, and a fantastic storyline that has all the feels but it’s also not without its angst. I love Caleb, and Thalia fits in perfectly with the Loveless family. It’s a definite must read!
