New York’s FinestBlogging as The SocialmedialiteApril 22LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement! You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the anger management issues, the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? The one with the questionable … The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy. Well, I have a confession to make…
THE HERMIT
Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much.
THE HOOKER
Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite…
THE PLAN
When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?
The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 110k word novel, and is a standalone.

The title doesn’t begin to tell you what a good funny read this book is!
Loved the story and the characters.Looking forward to reading more of this author.
I’ve never read L.H. Conway but I really like Penny Reid and this book did not disappoint. It had the humor as well fun, realistic dialogue I’ve come to expect from Reid. A little steamier with mild BDSM/kink that is unlike her, but nothing too offensive. I’m rating it four stars rather than five because I just didn’t love it, but I would recommend it.
Very likable characters. Funny. Realistic. Enjoyed it a lot
Very entertaining
Anything written by Penny Reid is a hit! Love her style writing & just love her characters!
love anything Penny Reid
It was pretty good on the whole. I loved the Ronan character, however, I am partial to Irish and Scottish men. Would definitely recommend reading.
I was sorry it was over when I finished.
Better than the usual because Penny Reid is involved
I loved this whole series! I hope she writes about Will in a fourth book! I also loved it on audio!
While not my favorite of Penny Reid’s books it was entertaining.
I enjoyed this book a lot it is not what you expect. Loved it.
I enjoyed this – fast paced, funny quick read. No real depth but an intuitive build of characters that was well-done. Wonder if Cosway and Reid can continue to deliver in this witty style?
I loved this story. It was funny, sexy and entertaining. I definitely recommend this book and these authors.
Favorite Quotes:
He said the words so smoothly, like words should be said, like an expert on banter and flirtation.
… she looked like she found me about as appealing as second-hand underpants.”
My laugh was the mating call of the Yeti.
I was a mess. I was inexperienced. I was a broken control-freak hermit. My issues had issues. My hurts had hurts. I knew how to run away. I was really good at running away; I didn’t know how to stay.
I want you free. I want you wild. I want you brave. I want you any way I can get you. I want you now, and I want you for the rest of my life.
My Review:
Oh swoon, I know nothing about rugby, but suddenly I want to, and I want to – very much. Maybe I have been living under a rock as I had never read either of these authors before. After reading this totally enchanting tale, I am overcome with the desire to one-click every single book listed under their names. And – yay- I see it is a quite an impressively long list for both ladies. I adored their likable but flawed protagonists, and enjoyed the many unexpected nuances and quirks that made them… just right for each other. The writing is smart, witty, observant and insightful, crisp, steamy, and unfailingly entertaining. I have two new favorites.
the premise was good. it got a bit weird once they got over to Ireland and the main character’s sexual habits were revealed.
