From bestselling author Melanie Summers comes the wickedly funny, ridiculously romantic spinoff of her highly-acclaimed Crown Jewels Series… Twenty-nine-year-old workaholic Libby Dewitt lives by the motto ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.’ She’s finally about to start her dream life with her steady-as-a-rock fiancé, Richard Tomy. Together, they’re the perfect power couple—right down to the … couple—right down to the fact that he’s agreed to use their honeymoon to help further her career in mergers and acquisitions. But ten minutes before the wedding, her dreams dissolve via text message.
Devastated and humiliated, Libby escapes to Paradise Bay alone. She’s got two goals for her trip: to devise a plan to get Richard back and to convince resort owner Harrison Banks to sell his property to her company. Unfortunately, when she arrives, she discovers that tall, dark, and built, Harrison is not about to make anything easy for her.
Instead, he derails her plans while at the same time, bringing out a side of Libby she’s kept carefully tucked away—a carefree, adrenaline junkie. After a few days together, Harrison’s got her wondering if the life she always wanted was meant for some other girl. Suddenly, Libby must decide which version of herself she wants to be.
Will she go back to her comfortable, safe life, or risk everything to be with the only man who’s ever made her feel truly alive?

Enjoyed the whole series. A fun escape into island life with interesting characters and clever plotting/writing.
Totally enjoyed the story …set reality aside … laughed often .. belly laugh a couple of times. Enjoyed the plot and resolution. I’ll read more by this author!
How had I not read the Paradise Bay books yet? Oh my goodness – love them!! Devouring them at a ridiculous rate, and I just can’t get enough!
The Honeymooner was hands down my favourite Summer read,it’s entertaining, funny and at times also emotional.
The Caribbean landscape is depicted so well it makes you want to take a flight and go to swim in that crystal clear sea.
I coudn’t put this book down, I was so invested into Libby and Harrison journey.
The two main characters could not be more different, Libby is a stiff, driven, workaholic who decided to go on a honeymoon to Paradise Bay, even if her fiancé dumped her on the wedding day, to try to convince Harrison the relaxed owner to sign off the resort to the company she works for.
Will she be successful and go back home with a promotion?Or will she throw all her plans and start to enjoy life one day at time?
I recommend to read this story to find out.
This is the first book I have ever read by this author, but it definitely isn’t going to be the last. This book was good on so many levels.
To start off, the storyline was super fun and unique. I felt it was engaging and kept me wanting more. I really found it hard to put this book down, which I don’t say very often. Also, the characters were wonderful. Not only were they likable, but they were believable and incredibly funny. I mean, I was laughing hard throughout this book. You know the book is funny when the chapter names crack you up!
Overall, I would say this book is worth reading and I would recommend it.
Excellent romantic comedy that keeps the reader waiting for ‘what’s next’. Ms. Summers did a fantastic job of putting characters that seemed to be opposites together. Libby is a workaholic planner that lives her life Exactly as planned right down to her marriage. Unfortunately the soon to be groom “Dear Jane” texted her just as the wedding was set to begin. Libby decides to go on her honeymoon alone and try to get the island resort owner, Harrison to sell his property to her company. Harrison is intrigued by Libby and let the fun begin. I received a complementary copy of this book via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books, especially book 2, of this series by Ms Summers.
This is a delightful, sweet and funny romance. Libby Dewitt was born Breeze Liberty Dewitt to a flaky, hippie mother. The first six years of her life were chaotic until her mother dropped her off with her grandparents. To keep from ending like her mother, she plans every aspect of her life including her marriage to Richard Tomey. When Richard dumps her via text at the wedding, Libby plans on going on the Honeymoon, which was also a business trip for her, and plans on getting Richard back. Harrison Banks inherited the resort from his Uncle Oscar, and runs it like all his employees are family. Harrison is hot, kind and generous. That generosity has put his resort in a bit of a financial pickle. Will Libby pick Richard or Harrison? Will Harrison sell his resort? This is the perfect book to read on the beach or poolside. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
The Honeymooner by Melanie Summers may be the first book I’ve read by the author but it won’t be my last. Perfect for a beach vacation or a long weekend, The Honeymooner is a well written, light hearted and fun read.
This is one book that will leave you with a satisfied smile on your face.

On Libby’s wedding day she has everything organized down to the second, except Richard’s text message saying, Libby I am so sorry I just can’t be there today.
Libby is with all the relatives at that the church that moment having a photo taken. Everyone heard every word Richard just said.
Now that she is totally humiliated she goes on her honeymoon by herself. Libby proceeds to get very drunk on her arrival. In the course, of this happy celebration, she becomes very drunk, and passes out. One of the bartenders brings her back to her room. This bartender turns out to be Harrison Banks, owner of Paradise Bay Resorts. He looks like your typical drop dead gorgeous male with the most beautiful eyes, and a perfectly sculpted six pack of abs. Harrison has already seen Libby at her worst moment, and Libby now has to change to professional business woman. Finish sealing the deal she was sent to do by her boss at Global lux. They want to purchase the resort. Don’t Worry.! “I got this all under control.” I was engrossed with this story from the very first page. Laugh out loud, hysterically funny, romantic location and I am not going to give away the ending. A Definite Must Read. I love your writing Melanie Summers I’m following you.
I absolutely loved this witty and touching story. Fantastic!
After been dumped via text in her wedding day, Libby is determined to win back her fiancé while enjoying her honeymoon in Paradise Bay, and trying to convince the resort’s owner to sale the place to her company. She has always plays by the rules and she is the most boring and predictable person in the whole world. Or so she thinks. But when she mets handsome Harrison, the resort owner something stir inside her. Will funny, caring Harrison save Libby from herself and make her truly happy while saving his family’s business? A funny, tender and romantic love’s story. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
I loved this book! I wanted something cute and fun, and this fit the bill. I really enjoyed the entire book, looked forward to reading some every day, and for me to say that is rare. Can’t say it was totally believable, or that the end was a surprise, but I was so entertained that I didn’t care. I have never read anything by Ms. Summers before, but for sure will in the future.
This is a great summer time read! Romance, tears and witty dialogue. This is the first book I’ve read by Melanie Summers but it made me want to read more by her. It’s nice to read a book that doesn’t have the f-bomb every 3rd word. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
I loved this so much! I stumbled upon this randomly and I am so thrilled I did. I could not put it down. It was exactly what I was searching for. I need to read everything written by this author!
A highly entertaining romantic novel, this book had me smiling and laughing throughout the reading of it. I was appalled at myself as I laughed hardest at the most tragic moments of Libby’s life. This is the first book that I have read by this author and Ms Summers really does know how to put together a story that draws the reader in from the first moments right through to the closing chapter. I could identify with Libby on so many levels. Despite having been humiliated in the worst possible way, she nevertheless keeps her head and formulates a new plan. Harrison is the complete opposite in every way. Where Libby plans every second of her life, Harrison rolls with the punches. Together they discover a chemistry neither of them anticipated and it forces both of them to open their eyes to new possibilities. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel as it is not only well written but incredibly funny and entertaining as well. This book apparently is part of a series, but it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a delightful ending. Although I previously read this book, I have also received a copy from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
A wonderfully charming and funny romance with clever humor where Libby learns sometimes letting go can make life more fun. I really enjoyed following Libby’s adventure as the jilted bride goes on her honeymoon honeymoon adventure alone, as she decides to make it a business trip as well. Paradise Bay is struggling to stay a float as owner Harrison avoids Libby’s large acquisition corp she works for who is trying buy up his resort. Getting completely drunk en route and on arrival maked her amusing and fun Harrison finds her stripped naked on the beach Harrison gets her back to her room not knowing who she is. A great enjoyable amazing clever story.

Love
I loved the dedication. It was for me, the reader who needs a laugh. Then the story starts with maps (on my ereader bits fell away) and a brochure, which was bordering on boring. But stick with it, it’s worth it! The second half of the book was downright unputdownable! Alternating POV’s between Libby and Harrison in first person, present tense.
I did laugh out loud a few times, but maybe not as much as I had expected by the foreword. And only after Libby and Harrison had met. But I loved it anyway! It was lovely! But it wasn’t love at first sight. Like at first sight, yes, but not love. Love came later. But then I was reeled in completely. Me fishie.
Libby: uptight, anyone? Neh not Libby! Oh, yes! There’s a good reason she’s so uptight though. But when she is left at the altar, her life as she planned it, falls apart. Suddenly, she’s on her own, (quote:) “…on my unhoneymoon/business trip, proving I can do this job just as well as Alan-the-Arsechitect and figuring out a way to get back the love of my life, who is definitely still Richard even though he left me at the altar. Right? Yes. Definitely. We have a perfect future together back home, and I must not forget all the good things, even though he did abandon me on the most important day of my life.”
Harrison: his resort is in big financial trouble. I really liked him. He’s kind, funny, reasonable, calm, generous and … wait for it … drum rolls please … has an eight-pack. Not the usual impressive six-pack. Eight. With a man-V. Not that it matters. Hah!
The bedroom doors stay (mostly) closed.

I couldn’t get enough of the characters in Melanie’s new series. I had to pace myself daily and set a per chapter limit because I didn’t want the book to end. Another amazing series by Melanie. Can’t wait for the sequel!
