From bestselling author Melanie Summers comes the wickedly funny, ridiculously romantic spinoff of her highly-acclaimed Crown Jewels Series… Twenty-nine-year-old workaholic Libby Dewitt lives by the motto ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.’ She’s finally about to start her dream life with her steady-as-a-rock fiancé, Richard Tomy. Together, they’re the perfect power couple—right down to the … couple—right down to the fact that he’s agreed to use their honeymoon to help further her career in mergers and acquisitions. But ten minutes before the wedding, her dreams dissolve via text message.
Devastated and humiliated, Libby escapes to Paradise Bay alone. She’s got two goals for her trip: to devise a plan to get Richard back and to convince resort owner Harrison Banks to sell his property to her company. Unfortunately, when she arrives, she discovers that tall, dark, and built, Harrison is not about to make anything easy for her.
Instead, he derails her plans while at the same time, bringing out a side of Libby she’s kept carefully tucked away—a carefree, adrenaline junkie. After a few days together, Harrison’s got her wondering if the life she always wanted was meant for some other girl. Suddenly, Libby must decide which version of herself she wants to be.
Will she go back to her comfortable, safe life, or risk everything to be with the only man who’s ever made her feel truly alive?

Tropical Island Resort Romance
This is a fun romance. While there is no guess in where it’s going, the fun is in the journey. While this is not an entirely sweet and clean romance, neither is it graphic. Many things are alluded to without being fully described. I guess that would be a PG rating. The story is fun and believable and readers will wish it was them in the story. This book could lead to many spin-off stories. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
So Richard – aka Dick – stands up his fiancee at the altar and lets her know via text – on drive mode – read read aloud so that the rest of the wedding party can hear it – minutes ahead of the wedding start. Thus, he is Dick.
Libby had set her honeymoon at a remote resort that her firm was looking to buy from the owning family. Real romance, right?
Of course, sand Richard/Dick, she heads off on the trip anyway. After al, career on the line, promotion possible for a win, etc.
Getting completely drunk en route and on arrival maked her amusing and fun, but not in the best negotiating position.
She might dig up some dirt on big brother Harrison, but his co-owning sibs might have something to say – and Harrison and Libby are both more fun on the beach than in a boardroom.
While baby brother is still in Antartica, can Libby convince Harrison, his sister Emma, and surrogate mom Rosie of her love and good intentions?
Can she convince herself?
Hang onto your seatbelts! This is a funny and bumpy romantic ride!

This is a wonderfully written story about Libby, who gets jilted at the steps of the church on her wedding day by Richard. However, since Libby is a workaholic it seems and booked her honeymoon at a failing resort so she can try and get them to partner with her employer to be bought out, she still goes on her “honeymoon”. She proceeds to sulk and drink too much and make a bit of a fool out of herself, all in front of a mystery man who she has instant hots for. Turns out the man is Harrison, the owner of the failing resort who wants nothing to do with Libby or her offers, or so he thinks. Will 3 weeks in paradise help Libby realize she might not want what she thinks she does? Will Richard realize what he gave up? Will Harrison take the help that Libby is offering and also her heart? I loved this book and would totally recommend it!
When Libby Dewitt is embarassed and left by her fiancee, she flees to Paradise Bay on a solo trip. When she encounters Harrison Banks, the owner of the resort, she becomes a different person, perhaps the woman she’s always meant to be. A wonderful story of rising up from a loss and discovering what truly makes you happy!
I absolutely loved reading The Honeymooner . This is such a wonderful story . It’s humourous and but it’s also a beautiful story . I love the silliness in the growing relationship between Libby and Harrison . I was very much grabbed from the start . I love the quirky characters and the storyline is fantastic . I really enjoyed reading this story . It’s well written . I’m looking forward to reading the next story in the series . I highly recommend taking the time to read . MJ Summers is a great story teller .

What a fabulously fun, quirky, rollercoaster of laughter, sadness, and love read! Coupled with the well-developed characters,( Libby~ A.K.A Breezy~ and Harrison~ A.K.A Opussom Whisper ~ Just to name a few.) I could not help but fall fast for Paradise Bay, and it’s occupants!
A first timer to Melanie Summers work, after reading ‘The Honeymooners,’ it will not be the last!
If you’re looking for a zany, chick-lit, laugh out loud romance with characters that are not only relatable but have an obvious connection this free-flowing story is one I highly suggest checking out!
I look forward to the next book in the Paradise Bay Series!
Got a comfy chair? Need a good read-well this is it!
This is a great read! The story line and characters just pull you in. Wonderful opposites attract read! And the setting-come on romance!!!!! Must read 🙂
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author sucked me in within the first few pages. Libby Dewitt is a by the book kinda gal, and she has every bit of her special wedding day planned down to the minute! When her fiancé breaks up with her via text message (I am pretty sure I guffawed when it was announced to everyone since Libby had the driving function enabled and all her texts were being read to her!), she figures she can talk him back into their relationship and wedding.
He isn’t home when she returns, and since her honeymoon was combined with work, she takes the trip anyway. Enter Harrison, who owns the honeymoon destination resort that Libby’s company wants to buy. He is everyone’s favorite person, but he is behind on payments for the resort and may end up losing it.
The chemistry between Libby and Harrison is so much fun! I wanted to be there, too! Libby finally starts breaking out of her perfect life mold, and has to make a decision about staying in her new life or going back to her old. I don’t want to give spoilers, because I just loved the surprises during my reading of this book.
Summer is pretty much over, but this book took me back to the beach! Enjoy!! Hopefully we will get another Libby book soon!

Loved this book, my favorite character is Rosy! I want someone like her on my side. Let me tell you, I think Libby is fantastic as well, being left at the Alter and thinking that her ex-fiancé only needs time is quickly forgotten when she gets to Santa Valentina Island, the place where she was suppose to have her honeymoon and meets the resort owner “Reef”. I love the interaction between these two the attraction is right there and they dance around it, come close then back off again. I wanted to bang their heads together a few times but the tension between them is so good and it just the story just rides along with it. Its a good romance with a great storyline thrown in! I felt like I was there watching it all unfold, my “Pina Colada” in one hand and salty fries in the other. A great summer time book, and great book to read in the winter, heck a great book to read anytime. Melanie Summers make the characters so real you want to meet them.
