This story picks up where the previous book ended. It takes Mel and Luce into a much deeper relationship. Persi makes a cameo appearance at the end which includes the setup for the next story. Thoroughly delightful.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
A devil and an angel on holiday together, more of the adventures of Luce and Mel. I laughed and chuckled and smiled and didn’t want to stop reading.
I have the next book in my queue.
Another fun episode…
This is the fifth book in the series and picks up right after book four. In this installment our unlikely (yet somehow perfectly matched) protagonists, Mel and Luce, take a much-needed holiday for some hard-earned rest and relaxation. I enjoyed this story for a few reasons. First, it was a nice change of pace from the unrelenting chain of catastrophe, chaos, and crises Mel and Luce have dealt with in the previous books. While the previous stories have all been delightful, this one gave Mel, Luce, and the reader a chance to take a bit of a breather. Secondly, I liked that this story gave more insight to Luce. It was our chance to get in his head and experience his roller coaster of emotions and his difficulties in coping with his redemption and with becoming an angel once again. Lastly, this story gave us some wonderful glimpses of Mel’s life as an incredibly powerful angel. Her extraordinarily long life has afforded her some truly spectacular experiences with regard to people she has known as well as the history she has witnessed. There was so much to enjoy in this story that I didn’t mind the slower pace one bit. It was refreshing, entertaining, and captivating. Looking forward to more of this series.
I received a copy of this book from the author and the above is my voluntary and unbiased review.
This was an entertaining, well-written book. Melody Angel is trying to save Lucifer, but her soul is burned out and barely clinging to her body. Luce takes Mel on a vacation from Hell, but an imp steals his most prized possession and he is most definitely not himself. This book had elements of the fun, flirty banter that most of the books in the series include. This is book 5 in the Mel Goes to Hell series. I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I liked that this book was mostly from Luce’s point of view. Though his puppy dog ways with Mel do grate on my nerves. I think I understand why and it’s more to do with him being an angel than devil but still. This book isn’t as funny as the other but it’s still a good addition to the other books. It seems that once one problem is solved another one pops up. I am happy that everyone in Heaven is finally seeing Luce that Mel does. I can’t wait to see what next adventure Mel and Luce have.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
This continues the story immediately after To Hell and Back (Mel Goes to Hell Series Book 4), so as usual with a series, it’s most enjoyable to start with Book 1 and read in order. There is much more romance and courtship as Luce tries to win Mel’s heart, and eventually some pretty hot sex, angel style. The writing is smooth and it’s a fast read, until you slow down to enjoy the “juicy bits”.
A little preview, if you haven’t read the blurb: Mel is still in a very weakened state after her efforts to prevent a nuclear holocaust in Japan. Luce is determined to bring her back to health in a holiday away from HELL and Hell. He does; the treatment is successful, and Mel is returned to golden, glowing health. Then a few details must be attended to – Persephone, and a rebellion of Demons at HELL, demanding Luce return Mel to Heaven for healing, where Luce has to face judgment in Heaven and become accepted as an redeemed angel. Things work out in the end, but there is one loose cannon, who will be dealt with in the next book, “All Hell Breaks Loose”.
I’ve enjoyed reading more of Luce and Mel’s story. Like the other books, there was a fair bit of humor in this one. I’m eager to find out what will happen next and to see how everything with Hades pans out.
