Hometown hero. Hockey superstar. Perfect boyfriend? When hockey star Caleb Carter returns to his hometown to recover from an injury, the only thing he’s interested in is a little R & R. He never expects to run into his onetime crush at a grade school fundraiser. Seeing Aaron Price hits him hard, like being checked into the boards. The attraction is still there, even after all these years, and … there, even after all these years, and Caleb decides to make a play for the schoolteacher. You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take, right?
Aaron has been burned by love before and can’t imagine what a celebrity like Caleb could possibly see in a guy like him. Their differences are just too great. But as Aaron spends more time with Caleb, he begins to wonder if he might have what it takes to win the hockey player’s heart.
This is a second edition that contains no changes from the first.

This book was perfection. Really.
A light hearted feel good story about a school teacher and an out and proud athlete. Yes. You read it right. An out and proud athlete! I loved that. I’m so done with closted athletes.
Seriously This was exactly what I needed right now.
The last chapter and the epilouge was just swoon worthy.
I really enjoyed this story!
Pulled me in from word one. The characters are so well written! I was rooting for Aaron and Caleb all the way. Caleb’s sister Pam , his assistant Grant and good friend Dimitri were side characters that helped and supported them along their path to true love.
I am hoping we get to see Dimitri’s fall into love.
We saw them slowly fall in love .
Of course in all stories problems pop up and feelings get hurt but in a great story, all the angst we go through while reading is rewarded in the end.
Excellent story!
Awww… How sweet this is! I know nothing about hockey but the writer did such an awesome interview with his podcast show, I thought I’d give the book he wrote with his husband a read. And man oh man! What I was sure would be a struggle to read was not the challenge I expected. This book was a sheer delight that had me pacing while reading! Me! A ‘Ms. Curl-Up-In-Bed’ reader! The writers pulled me into the story so fast and hard, I was practically speechless and I was grinning… Grinning! Throughout most of the story, in fact! I love the way the story starts. Entering the story, we see Caleb freaking out because he’d developed a strong feeling for Aaron, his sister friend that tutored him in Geometry. He wants to let Aaron know how he feels and the encounter ends with a cheek kiss! Some years later, Caleb Carter is a hockey pro and he encounters Aaron again at a fund-raising event for his hometown elementary school he attended when growing up. His sister is the principal and Aaron is a third-grade teacher that moves back in town from California; Caleb’s humility and gentle kindness in spite of success as a hockey player are what I found particularly touching in this story. Caleb agrees to help the local hockey coach train a team of kids and Aaron volunteers to help, though he doesn’t skate well–just to be near Caleb. They have several non-dates that go incredibly well including Caleb’s visit to Aaron’s third-grade class. They do a team-teaching project that uses hockey to demonstrate geometry to the third graders which was one of the most touching parts of the book. In the middle of the story, they share their first kiss that gets photographed and the picture is posted and shared all over social media. Then the sex between the couple happens and it’s EXPLOSIVE! Wow, just wow! They get their happily-ever-after following several challenges and you simply must read the book to find out how! You won’t be disappointed folks! Honest!
