She was the daughter of my worst enemy.
I was the hitman hired to take her out.
She was broken, frightened, and guarded, and the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. I vowed then and there to take away her fears and keep her safe. But she lied to me, giving me a fake name before she disappeared from my sight.
The contract that hit my phone gave me her true identity and a second chance at … identity and a second chance at finding her. Hunting her down was no easy feat, but leaving her alone wasn’t an option. It wasn’t just my family of hitmen I needed to protect her from, it was the man who wanted her life.
Digging into the past revealed secrets so dangerous they put all our lives at risk. For me, she was worth it. For love, it was a chance I would take. But would I be enough to save her, or would our pasts tear us apart?

I liked this story but it wasn’t great. The characters confused me and the plot had some holes in it. The beginning also wasn’t that great. I couldnt understand it either.
Despite being book 1 in the series I actually read book 2 first, not that it’s any big deal as this book concentrates on different characters. The author does a good job character building and has written an entertaining book.

Suspensful, gritty & engaging. The chemistry could have been stronger at certain points, but a great debut novel.

Great story line with twists and turns, surprises intense emotions and sizzling chemistry. Lia escapes her abuser and meets Yanny in an plane when he sits next to her and takes care of her during a nightmare. When Yanny gets a contract on her, he starts stalking her and ends up protecting her. He was an absolute sweetheart to her so protective and lovable. Lia has some issues to work through and gets the answers she seeks from an unexpected source. I enjoyed the story and look forward to the other book sin the series.

Dark and Gritty!
I have really enjoyed reading this book, the author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major characters, but the minor ones too.
Also, it caused me to lose quite a bit of sleep while I was reading it, because it was so hard to put down at night.

Ellie Isaacson did a great job on The Hitman, the plot was strong, it was filled with so many emotions. It was dark and it was packed with twist and turns, the story was written well. Nothing about Lia and Yanny’s journey was easy, they had many ups and downs, their journey was a rough rollercoaster, they went through a lot but they were drawn to each other, their connection and chemistry was strong.
I enjoyed this story. Thanks, Ellie Isaacson. Good work 🙂
This series is a hit for this author. I loved the stories and the characters and can not wait to see much more from this author.

The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great series starter and I was entertained from beginning to end.

Triggers- rape more then twice, abuse, bearly legal adult sold as a slave. Killings
Yanny’s family his mom, little brother & sister and his non blood brothers are under the radar of some powerful mafia. One mafia killed his father in cold blood with him a young kid and his mamma as witnesses, that cha fed Yanny’s life. Vow to find the man responsible and take him down, but if a contract on a mark is se t one of the men will do the hit. The the flight home from Paris, coming home after some Down Time after a hit he made, he met a woman that basically climbed him in her sleep to escape her nightmares.
Lia lost her mother and sister after they fled for their lives for her father only they were killed. Her father and step brother showed no emotions other then anger at their betrayal. Lia’s step brother introduced Lia to Emile from Paris. Emile spoken what he sees in her bluntly to her face but in French, that she don’t speak. Words like slave, owning, and other disgusting words of ownership. Close to graduating high school Lia was taken from New York to Paris then To a wearhouse where her father showed is evilness but he and her brother was shot, did they live to reap the rewards of selling the daughter for guns?
(Spolier) she will confront her father again and find the true devil and the plans he was going to make her mother and baby sister pay and find out what he already knew of her rapes and abuses by her owner and his right hand man.)
When she met a man on the plane she was sleeping one, she felt something. Later on as the same Mae showed up the the coffeehouse she visited she know something was up but went along with it not knowing what Yanny is really there for until he takes her away to a hidden cabin…..
So, here I was, about to start a new book with two things that I loved.
First, it was a Mafia book, yep, you know that’s my weakness, and second, it was from a new author.
That’s a bonus I think.
A book from a new author can have its risks because I might not like the way the author writes and I might not like the plot, but it’s a risk I must take.
If the blurb is any indication, I will love it. That I’m sure.
Ellie Isaacson is a new author to me and let’s just say that I’ll be stalking her.
Her writing is raw and dark, intense, and dangerous, all the things that I love in a book.
The Hitman is the first book from The Hitman series and explores the lives of Lia and Yanny.
Yanny is a hired Hitman that doesn’t fail his jobs.
Something in him awakes when he first sees Lia, but she just vanishes and the need to find her is super strong.
When he gets a call with his next job…
Lia life hasn’t been easy. She has suffered tremendously at the hands of the ones who were supposed to protect her.
Darkness, darkness surrounded this book from the beginning till the end.
It was a heavy reading that I couldn’t have missed.
Great plot, well written, but there was one thing that bothered me. The phrases in a foreign language weren’t translated, and I saw myself googling it to find out what they were saying.
For me, that was the only thing that bothered me.
Like I already said, this book is surrounded by darkness as well as mystery.
One minute things are in one way, and the next it disappears or changes.
We have some hot stuff as well but the danger lurked in every shadow.
Crime, punishment, betrayal, torture are very present in this book.
Now I can’t wait for the next one.
Great job Ellie Isaacson. It was perfect to read and I can’t wait for the next book.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is book one in the Hitman Series.
This is Yanny and Lia’s story. Yanny is one of the main Hitmen for their family business. He is decompressing after a hit when he meets a beautiful woman and tries to help her. They become friends and just before they become more a hit comes in and it is no other than the woman Yanny is falling for.
Lia is from a family she would rather forget. Her entire life a living hell and worse when she left her family to be with a man, she thought she could’ve finding herself imprisoned and tortured. Finally, she finds a way to escape only to find herself in the hands of the person who is supposed to kill her. Can she trust him and his family that hates her to keep her safe?
I really loved this story. This book is we-l written and has lots of twists and turns. I loved all of the characters and was on the seat of my pants through the book. It is an exciting page-turner. There is lots of excitement and heat, though there is lots of violence and rape as well. My only issues are that there is a lot of foreign languages used and not all of it is translated making me wonder what was said.
If you like enemies to lovers, tough characters, hitmen, crime families, don’t mind violence and like lots of hot sex, this is for you!
The Hitman by Ellie Isaacson is the First book in The Hitman Series. This is the story of Lia and Yanny. Yanny is a Hitman who happens to see Lia who makes him want something for himself but she disappears. While thinking of her and looking for her he gets his next hit job. What he finds is that her name is the one he has to do. Lia and Yanny are both broken who have to learn to trust each other to get through the dangerous and to find each other. This book does end setting you up for the next book. This was a great start to this author’s writing.
This book was engaging and entertaining and held my attention to want to find out what happens in the end. I wish the French was translated a little more, but you could get the general idea of what was being said. Not sure if there are other books in this series because it reads like it could be a standalone and also as a series. Either way, it is worth reading.

Ellie’s debut novel honestly knocked me out of the park – 4.5 stars
I was entranced from the first chapter and I kept turning the page to find out what was going to happen next. The cover is very intriguing and made me want to find out more. I love a good book with a little bit of suspense and romance spun together in a glorious tale!
Ellie managed to build a world and family atmosphere with the Medinas and their misfit of bandits that I totally connected with. Yanny was fascinating and what his family has had to endure over the years is heartbreaking but they have managed to rise fiercer and stronger from the flames! I love how supportive and protective he is of Lia and how he finds his game changer and he pushes ahead even though their pasts are more entwined and muddied than either imagine!
Lia is simply a survivor and she proves to be someone that should be feared! This book gives you glimpses of all the horrendous things she’s had to endure over the years from those closest to her and how she’s managed to save herself from the nightmare. Along the way she manages to run into Yanny and she cautiously takes a liking to him and the story literally explodes off the page when she thinks her past has caught up with her.
I liked the twists and turns the couple had to navigate and how they seemed to come together and work as a team. I found it refreshing that it wasn’t all shiny and rosy and there were haunting moments that they shared and horrendous circumstances they endured together and apart.
One thing that I would’ve liked more of was there relationship in the beginning and getting to know each other. It seemed to be told more than shown and I missed getting to see the connection grow. It felt somewhat instalove and I felt a little cheated that they seemed so close and I missed getting to see it.
Definitely excited to see more of this family and continue reading about this world! I hope we get to delve deeper into their lives and see glimpses of Yanny and Lia and the rest of the gang!
Lia and Yanny
The Hitman
I was asked to write an honest review in exchange for an ARC copy of this book.
The story itself is amazing and has so many details and twists and turns, it kept me interested. Lia and Yanny were great characters with amazing chemistry. Their buildup was great and I loved their core relationship throughout the book, even though it had ups and downs and moments where they should have communicated better.
With that being said there were a few things that bothered me while reading this book. One of the biggest things that bothered me was that there would be the other languages in which the characters often communicated but, we were given no translation to what was being said back-and-forth between the characters. I kept having to highlight and translate multiple moments of dialog throughout the book. A lot of other books I’ve read that have other languages will have an italicized sentence that translates what is being said so that the reader can actually grasp what is being said in different scenes between characters without having to divert their attention.
Another thing I noticed was there were a lot of gaps where things were not very well explained and left out leaving us to figure out and interpret. I had to go back a reread a page feeling as if I’d missed something only to find out it just wasn’t there.
This book has so much to it and I can see it being a really good series. In reading the first book of the series, I can tell it will continue to expand and give insight to some of the back story answers we were given glimpses of, it just made it a little confusing at points in the book.
The author did a great job building up her supporting characters and gave hints towards more stories With breadcrumbs throughout the book, so I’m hoping in the second one to have some answers to the questions I was left with.
Over all I do really think that this was a good debut book with a good story and I would be interesting in reading the next ones in the series once they come out.
The pain and devastation. The cruel punishing world that Lia was born into. No one should ever have to endure these things. This book was absolutely amazing! I was on the edge of my seat in complete freak out mode so many times! Loved this authors style. Love is love. Sometimes you need to fight for what you want .
4.5 Hitman Stars
The Hitman is the debut novel by Ellie and I have to say I really enjoyed the storyI was a little lost in the first chapter but I quickly found my feet and found a place in my heart for Yanny and Lia and Co.
Lia and Yanny have both had difficult pasts and when they meet, Yanny is mesmerised by Lia Eventually after weeks of trying to find her, he receives notification for a new hit – when he discovers exactly who she is
I have to admit although I enjoyed this story, it was a little long but I’m assuming this is because there was a lot of story to get through and character development. I still have a question unanswered which I hope will be answered in the next book. I’m looking forward to Diesel and Natalia’s story next. Thank you Ellie for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review
I love dark Mafia stories, especially when they are as intense and gritty as The Hitman. This story had it all family issues, some harsh storylines, suspense, angst, and romance. I love the characters in this book. Lia and Yanny, both have troubled pasts and the way they relied on each other gave them such a strong bond, that I connected with them right from the start.
There were a few times I wish I had more details on certain situations but it did not take away from the story and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
From the second that I read the synopsis I couldn’t wait to pick this book up! I loved how this story grabbed my attention so quickly! I had to finish reading it in one sitting. I enjoyed this story!
Lia and Yanny’s journey was far from an easy one. I felt so many different things throughout with these two characters! I wasn’t sure which direction their story was going to and that pulled me into it even more.
With The Hitman, Ms.Isaacson has created an awesome debut filled with suspense and emotion! I am so looking forward to her next book The Boss!

Well hello there new author that kinda just blew my socks off! The Hitman was dark, darker than I usually read, but also had this sweetness to it that made it hard to put down. I fell for Lia and Yanny in chapter one and was rooting for them the whole way through.
I could feel the instant connection between Yanny and Lia. Though they met in less than ideal circumstances, it didn’t take long for them to form their bond. The gentle way he soothed her, calmed her fear and anxiety…swoon! But they both had secrets.
Demons that haunted them and shaped who they were. But from all of that, they had this strength that was matched in the other. They were warriors. Survivors. And I loved seeing that confidence come out in Lia and Yanny gave her that safe place to land. However, not everyone was happy with her being in the mix. And when their collective pasts caught up with them, all the ground they had gained crumbled.
My goodness, Ellie Isaacson had me all over the place. Dangerous. Sometimes gory but always full of heart, Yanny and Lia’s journey to happy was uniquely theirs. Full of pain and passion. But the way they found strength in each others love proved how perfectly they were suited for one another. While there were a few things here and there that didn’t quite add up, they didn’t detract from the overall feel. The Hitmam was a solid debut. The full cast of characters laid a good foundation for what is sure to be a steamy and wild series.
