The Highway (The Highway Quartet #2) was a good read by C.J. Box. Two sisters set across a remote stretch of Montana to visit a friend. They never would’ve guessed that this may be the last time someone hears from them. It seems as though the girls and their car just vanish. Cody Hoyt is a former police investigator who just lost his job. This led …
I have read all of C. J.’s books! All excellent. Always waiting for the next one.
It’s never a boring book, if it’s written by CJ Box. This book takes some interesting turns when you least expect them.
This book is a continues with the flawed, but fascinating character of Cody Hoyt from “Back of Beyond”, picking up with another character of Cassie Dewell, Hoyt’s rookie partner. Without giving too much away, the Highway is not a place for young girls. I lament C.J. Box has chosen not to write Hoyt’s character in any future books…so sad.
I am a new reader and C.J. Box was recommended and wanted to start on a smaller series of his before I started the Joe Pickett books. Once I started this book I was hooked, loved the flow and easy read but still very scripted and detailed. My very first book to read was a James Patterson book Texas Ranger so I was worried I would not find on that …
Could not put it down
C. J. Box is a great writer and you never know how it is going to end.
Chilling. In a broad genre, (crime fiction), it’s rare to read such a fresh take on the chase for a killer. I love the settings of Box’s novels, he obviously loves the rugged, beautiful landscapes he sets his stories in. I also love a road movie and this novel reads that way. Cassie Dewell is an utterly engaging and well-wrought female …
It’s not like his other series, but Box is still one of my go-to writer.
NOTE: Just re-read this winner by author Box. It was great this time through too. I’m re-reading the rest of the Cassie Dewell books so I can start reading new one THE BITTERROOTS.
Another winner (albeit darker) from C.J. Box
I’ve read all of the C.J. Box books. I especially love his Wyoming Joe Pickett series. But I enjoyed his other book with …
Great
Wow! I could not put this book down! It gripped me right from the beginning. I chose “scary” as one of the descriptions because the potential for something like this happening in real life is there and that is a scary thought. This was the first CJ box book I ever read and it hooked me. I am a huge CJ Box fan now!
It’s a disturbing read.
All of CJ Box’s books are great, this one is no exception.
First C. J. Box book i did not like. Disappointed.
