Just because she’s a woman, doesn’t mean she lacks courage.
Will Buchanan Mackenzie give in to the demands of his men who seek revenge for the death of his half-brother, or will he rely on the wisdom his beloved father taught him, and take his time in deciding what will happen to his beautiful captive-Rhedyn Lindsey-a woman who has captured his attention, respect, and quite possibly his heart?

I have long loved Mary Wine’s Scottish historicals, and this one does not disappoint! Filled with rich historical detail and memorable characters, this story swept me away!
Life was harsh in the highlands were clans sometimes battled each other. It could be brutal and on one such night when the half brother of Buchanan Mackenzie was killed, he knew he had to seek vengeance to appease his clan.
That came in taking the daughter of his enemy, Rheyn Lindsey to stike a blow to her father. But he did not want to take a woman but she asked he not kill her father.
What Buchanan does not expect is her to stand up to him and he tries to make the right decision in what to do with her. Will he see that she is more than just the daughter of an enemy but is a woman?
I truly enjoyed this story that took me on a journey of two people who unexpectedly found they may have more in common than expected.
Cannot wait to read more in this series! Love these highlanders!
I enjoyed reading Highlander’s Demand. I enjoy it so much that I’m eager to read the other books that will be released in this series. This is the kind of book you read on a day when you will have no interruptions. It’s the kind of book I would love to hear in audiobook format or see as a television movie. Please tell me Cora and Vychan are going to get their own story.
This is the first in a new series by this author and it’s terrific. A laird’s daughter, Rhedyn, knows her duty and her role in the clan. She also loves her family. She’ll do her duty, marry for the good of her clan, and be a dutiful daughter. It’s what she was born to do.
One evening, she is caught up in an unexpected conflict with another clan, and their leader, Buchanan Mackenzie, decides he will mete out justice in his own fashion. In an unexpected move, Rhedyn is torn from the future she expected and taken to a place where she is tossed into conflict, danger, and intrigue. But will Buchanan protect her or leave her to the wolves?
This was so good I couldn’t put it down. It has romance, intrigue, and it was written with a host of interesting characters. Each had their own part to play, and often their fortunes were not what one expected. It was refreshing. I am really looking forward to the next in this series. I can’t recommend this book enough-LOVED it!
Rhedyn Lindsey knows she should marry for the betterment of her Clan and her father is wanting her to consider Rolfe Munro. Rolfe comes across Iain Mackenzie murdering and raping people of his clan and he Rolfe protects his people and murders him.
Iain is the half-brother to Buchanan Mackenzie the Mackenzie’s new laird. Iain went raiding and raping and he was killed. Buchanan puts the blame on Colum Lindsey for betraying his Clan and in retribution takes the Laird’s oldest daughter Rhedyn Lindsey as his captive to avoid an all-out war. Rhedyn knows she can’t escape Buchanan has already told her he would return for her younger sister to take her place. Buchanan is a new laird and he knows he needs to be strong and brave for his clan, not show any weakness to them he tries to appease his clan and not start a war holding Rhedyn is his best option. His father told him there would be hard decisions to be made, but always make decisions for the good of the clan no matter hard the decision is. He’s also kind and gentle man and it goes against his better judgment to take a young woman captive. I love how these two grow to respect each other, an attractions grows between them, but will he see that she is more than just the daughter of an enemy or the woman he’s falling in love with? An excellent story and one I voluntarily wrote a review.
