She’s the daughter of the sworn enemy of my clan.I disappeared from her life 10 years ago. Now I’m back to take her. To take what has always been mine. Our love was doomed from the start. But I wanted her from the moment I laid eyes on her. Then a strange twist of fate left her wounded and in my care.I took her. And she fell for me. She gave me her maidenhood, and I gave her my heart. But for the … and I gave her my heart.
But for the good of my people and to save us all from this deadly war, I am forced to give her up. Again.
When I learn though that she is being used as a pawn in a murderous scheme and her uncle has declared the cause more worthy than her life, neither the English army nor God himself can keep me from fighting my way to her. From saving her.
It was a twist of fate that brought us together. But she is mine and I am not going to let her go. Ever.
I’d risk it all to save her. But will I be able to get to her in time?

** spoiler alert ** Malcolm is determined to do what he can for his people. Catherine is disgusted by how her family acts. They are from opposing sides, but the heart wants what it wants. Will Catherine get what she wants? Will Malcolm save her in time?
Normally when it comes to highlander books, it can go either way for me, but this one was a great read. I loved how despite the times, Catherine wasn’t a wall flower and voiced her opinion frequently. I loved how Malcolm was willing to do anything for the people and woman he loved. Good read!
Ms. Jessica Knight has just proved that love conquers all in her latest release, The Highlander’s Claim.
Everyone loves a hero; especially if it is the man of your dreams.
Discovet how Miles, Earl of Stratford, finds himself face to face with Princess Amber, and the struggles they face to get to their happily ever after. This is certainly a storyline that will jerk at your heartstrings. I encourage all fans of amazing romance, to follow along, as these two, fated characters, fight for all they never knew they wanted. Please trust, that you will not be disappointed with this publication.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader’s copy of The Highlander’s Claim in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
This is an excellent read.
Even though I’m not into this genre of books
I thought I would give it ago and I’m not sorry
I did.
The plot is strong without being over the top
The characters Malcolm and Catherine are well
developed and interesting.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via Bad Boys Update.
I love period romances and this one has such a great story that sucks you in right away! Malcom met the very English Lady Catherine in the marketplace and was taken with her. Her stuff upper crust brother told her to have nothing to do with the savage Scotsman, but they never forgot each other. Years later Malcom returns to his clan from Paris and is thrown into the ongoing war with the English. When he spies Catherine all the old feelings return, and when he has the chance to step in and save her he does. Love the history, drama, deceit, danger and the love story that is at the heart of this book!!
Become immersed in a time of violence as the English tried to destroy the Scots and bring them under their rule. A story told in first person, that although not typical, works as you see through the eyes of the characters.
Catherine, an English girl and Malcolm who is Scottish, meet when they are young and form an attachment. Fast forward ten years after Malcolm returns home and the attraction is still there.
But Catherine’s villainous uncle, who is in charge while her father is away, only wants to kill as many Scots as possible. He punishes Catherine when she tells him how she feels about what he is doing and that is when Malcolm needs to rescue her.
A wonderful story full of adventure, strong characters and descriptions of the times that make you feel like you are there, take this journey to a surprising conclusion. Not to be missed!
Very good! Malcolm and Catherine are great characters. Well-written, well-developed characters and a great plot. Definitely recommend this book.
English noble girl meets a Scottish farm boy in a market town. After she finishes storytelling to children, he follows her around and manages to get her name and give her a flower in spite of the hateful guards she had around her. Shortly afterward, the clan chief is killed by the English, his father becomes chief, and his father keeps his promise to his deceased mother, sending him off to his mother’s sister in France to be educated and trained. During those 10 years, Malcolm thought of Catherine often and hoped to see her again as he returned to his clan and his kin. These two begin a secret, forbidden affair as the war continues between their countries while Malcolm becomes chief and Catherine’s evil uncle plots to kill the beastly Scots and even do away with Catherine! A great read! I volunteered this review from an ARC.
This was a great read!! Catherine is the daughter of a Duke of England and pretty much a prisoner in her own home. Malcolm is the son of a Highlander clans and his father protects him. When he sees her telling a story to children in the the market he’s infatuated with her. They end up spending some time walking in the market. Then he’s sent to France for his safety. Ten years later they meet again. They never forgot each other and passion is unbelievable. Catherine wants the English and Scots to make peace. There’s action, death and more to keep you intrigued.
I received this as an arc for my honest and voluntary review.
Second, nope, third chance Scottish historical.
How many chances will he need?
Malcom Dunbarr met Catherine Seeley when they were young. She’s the daughter of a duke. He’s a highlander. But circumstances keep these two apart time and time again.
Recommend.
This is a complicated forbidden romance between English Lady Catherine and Scottish Malcolm. When her father wants more land from Scotland and he leaves his brother James in charge all things go badly from killing innocent people to her getting thrown in the dungeon. Enjoyed reading what this couple had to go through to get their relationship worked out.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even though I don’t usually enjoy reading a book written in the first person form, I’m glad I persevered with this one because I really enjoyed the story. Catherine and Malcolm first meet when they are only in their teens and now ten years later, that brief meeting is still in their minds as it was love at first sight! Soon after, Malcolm had been sent to France and Catherine had no idea what had become of him until he suddenly reappears in her life.
With her father being gone most of the time, Catherine is pretty much a prisoner in her own home, guarded by her evil uncle and just as evil brother. Her uncle hates the Scots, calls them no better than animals and slaughters them at will. Being in love with Malcolm, who is a Scot, she will do anything to protect him and he in turn, strives to make peace with the English. Passions flare and they cannot resist being together, no matter the danger until everything comes to a head. Lots of action, adventure, passion, danger, etc, to keep you reading.
