The groundbreaking first novel in the Fox and O’Hare series that pairs a sexy but smart FBI agent and a calm, confident con artist. Check out my full review at theshortstoryteller(dot)com!
Decent book. May not continue the series, though.
Absolutely LOVED this book. I never thought I’d like anything better than the Stephanie Plum books, but this one grabbed me hard. I get excited when a book is fun and entertaining, and this one certainly is.
I always have a great LOL time with this author’s books, but when I got to Page 271, it had me bent-over from pain from laughing so hard. Yes, everything is opinion, but in mine, it was freaking funny. I had to stop reading for a minute. Also page 287 gave me a great chuckle, and these weren’t the only times, but the ones that hit me hard.
Anyway, I highly recommend this book, and I have the next ones in this series to continue. I hope they are good as I found this one to be. On to The CHASE…
I hope I haven’t missed any before this one, though, I believe I might have. It seems these two characters have met previously a few times. I do remembering reading a partial story about Nick Fox in the role of a wedding/party planner and jumping off a building with a parachute, but that was at the end of another story. So, I’m not sure if that was a short story, or only part of a longer one. If anyone knows, I’d appreciate hearing about that.
Not the best one I ever read. I was disappointed with this book. It seemed very poorly written – very light. I know her books are not meant to be great tombs but she is usually more clever in her story line.
Re-reading this series and enjoying it again so much, I just love Nick and Kate!!
I love Janet Evanovich. especially her Stephanie Plum novels. However, I disliked the treatment of women in ‘The Heist’, which may be due to her co-writer, Lee Goldberg. I have liked her books co-written with Pheof Sutton and would recommend them.
It was just okay. There was good parts but for the most part it was kind of boring.
A fun romp, this book introduces some unique, fun characters; weaves great twists and turns; features snappy dialogue and banter; and leaves the reader w/ a smile, looking forward to the next installment.
This is no deep literary masterpiece, just a fun, light-hearted read for an enjoyable evening or two. If it were a movie (and I wish they would make it into a film!), it would be described as a popcorn-munching action comedy. It was truly an enjoyable diversion.
This was a fun book to read. All of the fun of the Stephanie Plumb books, but with fresh characters.
Another great series. All in all she is a great author.
FBI Kate O’Hare has been chasing conman Nick Fox for years. But when she finally catches him, her life is turned upside down. Now she finds herself teamed up with him to try to catch another criminal. To me, this book felt like a melding of the TV shows White Collar and Castle, both of which I love. It was funny and a wild ride. The pace was just a little off at times, but for the most part I enjoyed this romp.
Love this series of books!
I’ve always enjoyed the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum books. I also enjoy this collaboration. The characters are fun and the hijinks are entertaining. A recommended read.
