Her characters ae well-developed, situations entirely believable, and the place descriptions realistic.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Laura Ann has done it again. A fun romance with the Lockwood Crew. I love this series. Grams is my favorite character in this book, but I like how she took a former misled bad guy and turned him into a good main character.
I really enjoyed this book.
Laura Ann’s third book in the Lockwood Industries series, The Heiress’s Bodyguard, is my favorite so far. I’ve really enjoyed the story of each character and seeing how the friends relate to and care for one another. I liked this clean, sweet love story a lot. I enjoyed the different quirks and strengths of the characters. And the ending was great!
I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own and are expressed voluntarily.
Val and Andrew have met before and it didn’t end well. These two were so funny with their inner dialogue and banter. Gram was probably my favorite character. Loved how Val’s “brothers” looked out for her but felt like they added to part of the angst. When trouble comes can they work through it? Great ending.
It’s Val’s turn.
Andrew was on the wrong side when we first met him. He and Val sparred and they were equally matched (all good things). His Grams Lola needs a bodyguard (she’s giving out money). So, it’s Val.
What I liked?
Andrew is sweet to his Grams (always a good thing). He’s into martial arts and Val, and not into vapid rich girls.
Val. She’s got a military background, is trained in martial arts and can hold her own. She’s more emotional and feisty than Andrew.
Recommend.
Borrowed in KU
This one is so much fun to read. The banter between Val & Andrew & my favorite person is Grandma Lola. She is feisty & a hoot. I can’t help but think she knew about Val before they met & planed to get Val & Andrew together. This is my favorite book so far in the series. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary, honest review.
Laura Ann brings us a twist on the classic bodyguard tale with The Heiress’s Bodyguard.
Val can take on the best of men when it comes to martial arts and hand to hand combat, but what will she do when the only man she hasn’t been able to beat hires her as a bodyguard for his grandmother?
In this book we get to see Val’s softer side warring with the tougher as attraction mounts between Val and Andrew. Can she follow the attraction and still keep Lola safe? Can she trust anyone enough to allow them to see her vulnerabilities, and does she want to take that chance?
Andrew is tired of cookie cutter dates who don’t want anything except money and prestige. The first time he saw Val was on the other side of a fight. He’s intrigued by the contradiction between her skills and her femininity.
Can love flourish with the help of a spunky grandma and annoying friend? Grab this book and find out. The sparks fly as Andrew and Val discover they have met their match—in more ways than one.
