One uptight Southern chef. Two wickedly hot investors who want to teach her to sin a little. A steamy workplace ménage! My restaurant is failing. My parents are just waiting to say ‘I told you so.’ But I don’t want to give up. I’ll do anything to save my business. Anything. Then restaurant investors Owen Lamb and Wyatt Lawless offer me a chance to make my dreams come true. And I’m tempted. So … offer me a chance to make my dreams come true.
And I’m tempted. So tempted.
Of course, there is a catch.
Note: The Heat is a standalone ménage romance (mfm) with a HEA ending and no cliffhangers.
The Heat was previously titled Playing with Piper.

This was an actual story about people. Not a bump and grind story.
This was a great and fun story. I loved the premise of the two chefs investing in the little restaurant. It was filled with plenty of steamy scenes, as well as some action packed moments. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
Three people becom business partners, face adversity together, overcome the odds together, confess and reconcile family conflicts together and fall in love with each other while doing so. Owen Lamb, Piper Jackson and Wyatt Lawless sizzle off the page as they deal with everything that’s thrown at them. The road to love is not a smooth one and adding a měnage to the mix definitely creates a lot more bumps along the wat. Great characters, interesting storyline with just the right amount of intrigue and suspense mixed in.
The Heat – If you can’t stand the heat, get out of Piper’s kitchen. Faced with the impossible mess her family restaurant in NY is in, Piper refuses to give up and go home to Louisiana. With little support from her family, she looks to her group of girlfriends for support. She gets restaurateurs Owen and Wyatt offering their advice and some much needed encouragement. Entering her in a local tv competition sets her up against some shady characters and possible danger from all three of their pasts. Who knew cooking was so dangerous? This was so much fun! Happy Reading!
The Heat is the third book in the Menage in Manhattan series, but could be read as a stand alone. Piper is struggling to make her restaurant and dreams a success. When Owen and Wyatt come along, offering to be partners and help, she agrees. Their chemistry sizzles just like the heat from the kitchen, but will their secrets and pasts tear them apart before a masterpiece arrives?
Oh my goodness! I’ve definitely been looking forward to reading this book since I read The Bet (book one) and I was on the edge of my seat, loving every second, and completely enthralled by this relationship! I loved Piper, Wyatt, and Owen, loved their connection, loved their passion, and loved all of the crazy events that happen during these pages! I was not expecting half of them, but once I started, I didn’t want to put this book down! Piper was so driven, but held herself back due to her parents and upbringing. I loved when she did things for herself, like running the restaurant and following her heart. Wyatt and Owen have things in their past that I was not expecting, but I loved how it shaped them into the men that Piper needed. They were protective and just as driven. I think my favorite part about this relationship was how each of them needed to be built up, and how easily they all worked together. They were definitely a team, and they needed that as they faced adversity after hurdle after challenge! I loved this book and am excited for the next in the series!
Mmmm Yummy!
I couldn’t wait for Piper’s story once I met her in Bailey’s book and it was everything I wanted. Well I could have used way more sexy time with Wyatt, Piper and Owen but the story made up for that. The story was so intense and mysterious that I kept pointing my finger at different people throughout the whole thing and when the truth came out I was not fully prepared for the connections! Great story!
great series
Undecided
I am undecided on this book. On one hand it’s a HEA ending. On the other, the whole story seemed very superficial. Not much build up just a bunch of bedroom stuff. Not a whole lot of others. Still was enjoyable.
This is your average two hunky guys help out a beautiful woman story. No cliff hanger and very few grammatical errors and malapropisms, so a good quick read.
It was a very good book.
decent story about startup business. Sex is unrealistic and needs some serious editing. This author shows real potential.
I was asked by the author for an honest review. This is book #3 in Tara Crescent’s “Playing for Love” series.
Owen Lamb and Wyatt Lawless show up to help Piper Jackson in fixing her restaurant. Piper has inherited a restaurant that is failing. Partnering with Owen and Wyatt has Piper contemplating a threesome. She has two friends that are already in a threesome relationship.
Owen has to deal with the fact that his parents and baby sister was brutally murdered. Wyatt has to deal with being blackmailed.
I have loved reading this series! Every book is so good unto itself but the series is seriously HOT! The characters are well developed and so relatable. This book has a little bit of suspense but not a lot. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a hot romance book! Read the whole series…It’s GREAT!
The book had a good story line. It wasn’t just continual sex. However, I was expecting a book of this nature to be a little more steamy. Overall, it was an easy read, and decent in this category.
Beyond bad
Very poorly written. Characters not well developed or described at all.
The situations were ridiculous and unrealistic. It was like a high school girl tried to write without any real experience. It was unrealistic and painful to read.
