A steamy Regency romance full of spicy thrills and spooky chills. Welcome to Briarwood Park, an English manor house filled with spirits, its halls stalked by a bloodthirsty madman, and a brooding duke accused of the most wicked crime of all… murdering his late wife. The Haunting of a Duke is perfect read for Halloween or any time of the year for those who like their romance served up slightly … slightly darker.
Communing with spirits has been both gift and curse to Emme Walters. Now it’s made her a killer’s target. Emme knows why the Dowager Duchess of Briarleigh invited her to a house party–to investigate whether the duke, Rhys Brammel, murdered his wife years ago. But Emme never imagined she would fall in love with the brooding duke.
Branded by society as a possible killer, Rhys is suspicious of Emme and her alleged “gift.” Then a late night encounter creates awareness of her other, more attractive, aspects. When Emme’s life is threatened, Rhys becomes her protector. Emme and Rhys find passion and peril as they join forces to solve the mysteries at Briarleigh. She made him believe in spirits, but can she make him believe in love?
The Haunting of a Duke is the first of six book in the Dark Regency Series. Each book in this series contains gothic elements, occult or paranormal references, and steamy, open door sex scenes.

Gothic!
Good characters, decent storyline, not totally predictable. Has a couple of very graphic sex scenes. Over the top steamy, compared to the rest of the book.
I really enjoyed reading this Book.
Rhys Brammel & Emme Walters’s Story was Absolutely Wonderful, Amazing & Fantastic.
I normally don’t care for Mediums or anything of that nature in Movies or Books.
But I found myself turning page after page in their Journey to discovering what was happening at Briarwood Hall.
The Characters, Settings & …
Liked the characters and interesting plot.
I really enjoyed the combination of romance and the supernatural world. Kept my interest!
The Haunting of a Duke (Dark Regency #1) was a good read by Chasity Bowlin. Emme Walters is able to communicate with spirits and it is both a gift and a curse. Unfortunately because of her gift, she is now the target of a killer. She knows why she was invited to a house party by the Dowager Duchess of Briarleigh. This is to investigate whether the …
Bowlin combines a spicy romance with the mystery of a murder and the ghosts of two previous victims. Lord Rhys Brammel discovers Emme Walters sleepwalking in his manor house but doesn’t believe her powers as a psychic until she speaks with his murdered sister. The romance picks up along with the danger as the killer seeks to silence Emme and seek …
this was a great read! a classic gothic romantic suspense novel. The characters are interesting and likeable. The romance is not overwhelming the suspense. Ghosts and an old house with secret passages make the story remind me of ones I read as a girl!!! The secondary characters are realistic and make you want to know more of their background …
A great read. Original. Many twists and turns. Couldn’t wait to continue the story. Thanks.
I purchased this book from Amazon because I was curious what ‘Dark Regency’ was. I enjoy historical romance so I gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised by the mix of historical romance and paranormal romance. There is a lot of sexy time in this book – in the series in general – be warned. I ended up skipping past a lot of it. The scenes …

I loved The Haunting of a Duke! It’s an exciting historical romance with intriguing characters and a very addictive storyline full of steamy hot loving but also twisted evil darkness that has followed Rhys’s family throughout the years! It kept me guessing with all the twists and turns from mysterious murders and mayhem, family drama, friendly and …
This was my first paranormal romance book that I read – and Oh Boy – did I love it !!
Ms. Bowlin’s narrative was compelling, drawing me in to imagine a gloomy, dark place wherein the supernatural is a way of life.
The characters were spellbinding and the style wove effortlessly through the book.
A must read for folks who want to start their …
I didnt realize until in the book she allows spirits to possess her body. This is a romantic paranormal book. I’m sure I would have enjoyed the book however. I dont feel as we should ‘play’ with demons.
Between the front and back cover lies a most enjoyable story. It has everything murder plots, family values and lasting friendships, sizzling love scenes well written. Everyone has an interesting agenda. The supernatural never seemed so real. Love the characters. The atmosphere is so real for the period. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series …
bad language
It’s sometimes hard to find Regency paranormal stories, but here’s one with ghosts! I really enjoyed this book. It’s very steamy, but the love scenes are well-written.
Interesting take on the paranormal.
This book has a lot of para normal activity in it which I am not that crazy about.
