A steamy Regency romance full of spicy thrills and spooky chills. Welcome to Briarwood Park, an English manor house filled with spirits, its halls stalked by a bloodthirsty madman, and a brooding duke accused of the most wicked crime of all… murdering his late wife. The Haunting of a Duke is perfect read for Halloween or any time of the year for those who like their romance served up slightly … slightly darker.
Communing with spirits has been both gift and curse to Emme Walters. Now it’s made her a killer’s target. Emme knows why the Dowager Duchess of Briarleigh invited her to a house party–to investigate whether the duke, Rhys Brammel, murdered his wife years ago. But Emme never imagined she would fall in love with the brooding duke.
Branded by society as a possible killer, Rhys is suspicious of Emme and her alleged “gift.” Then a late night encounter creates awareness of her other, more attractive, aspects. When Emme’s life is threatened, Rhys becomes her protector. Emme and Rhys find passion and peril as they join forces to solve the mysteries at Briarleigh. She made him believe in spirits, but can she make him believe in love?
The Haunting of a Duke is the first of six book in the Dark Regency Series. Each book in this series contains gothic elements, occult or paranormal references, and steamy, open door sex scenes.

I love a writer with a great imagination….this book is packed full of interesting twists and turns.
Really enjoyed this book and could not wait to turn the next page and get to the end to see how things turned out.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others in this series.
Murder, spirits and romance made it an enjoyable read. Believable and entertaining to solve the mysteries of the murders.
I usually don’t enjoy any stories having to do with the supernatural, but really liked the characters so much that I purchased the rest of the books in this series.
The characters were well written and the story moved at a good pace and kept my interest.
Fast reading because you can skip through the toooo many sex scenes.
Loved it
Good mystery, sexy read!
This was such a good book & I was hooked just a few pages in to it & couldn’t put it down until the end. It has everything you want – historical romance, mystery, some mysticism, some spice & engaging characters. Emme & Rys were such a great couple & their journey was a fun one to be part of. I highly recommend this book & cannot wait to dive …
THIS BOOK WAS ENTERTAINING STEAMY AND UNPREDICTABLE. IT HAD WONDERFUL CHARACTERS IT WAS EASY TO READ, I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN TILL I FINISHED IT,
Really enjoyed this book. Will be looking for more from this author.
Loved this book !
This author could be a great writer, but she sold out her gift to become a pandering graphic smut monger. This book was very unnecessarily pornographic. The plot was well laid and kept me guessing and the characters were well defined and setting descriptions very apt and I enjoyed reading to the end to see how she developed the plot in spite of …
Thoroughly enjoyed!
I gave it a 4 because it kept my interest despite being a very predicable plot. The editing was a bit off since some of the chapters repeated themselves which was somewhat confusing at first. The storyline held my interest enough that I did want to read other books in the series to follow-up on some of the supporting characters.
I really enjoyed it, great descriptions of the people and a very enjoyable mistory
Enjoyed the story, but too much sex and not enough character development
I thought it was pretty good, although it seemed like many others I have read. Following a basic formula. Lots of sex, pages of it. Skipped over those (graphic) parts
A weekend gone wrong, a disastrous seance, murders and attempted murders, a Duke who is haunted, a young lady who sees and speaks with spirits, a flourishing love affair – these are some of the ingredients that make up this beautifully told story written by Chasity Bowlin and narrated by Lillian Yves in an interesting and entertaining way. These …
