USA Today Bestseller!
Debut author Sally Thorne bursts on the scene with a hilarious and sexy workplace comedy all about that thin, fine line between hate and love.
Nemesis (n.) 1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person’s undoing
3) Joshua Templeman
Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. … undoing
3) Joshua Templeman
Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.
Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.

I’m late to the “game” (see what I did there:) but I loved The Hating Game. The repartee was fun and really made the book for me. Great characters and easy to read. Highly recommend!
I love so much about this book! Sally Thorne’s writing is vibrant and hilarious. Lucy and Josh are real and imperfect but likeable. Their enemies-to-lovers romance makes me happy every time I read it. Thorne’s details and attention to small moments makes the love story new with every read!
This book was absolutely hilarious. Loved the sexual tension between the characters. There’s a fine line between love and hate.
Great debut!
Great read!
This is a great read. I really enjoyed the characters, Very likable. This is such a funny and sweet story. Definitely worth reading!!
Cute and definitely steamy but your basic romance novel for sure.
So good I wanted to read it again as soon as I’d finished!
One of the best Rom-Coms I’ve ever read!
Love love love this book! It’s about a professional power-struggle… or is it? These two executive assistants could not be anymore different, and they start the book in a competitive game of cat and mouse. They start to realize that there might be more to their competitive obsession with one another….
Couldn’t put it down and have read it three times already!
I picked this up on the recommendation of an author I love. The banter between the main characters had me laughing out loud. Their love story has all the feels.
I enjoyed the journey from apparent hate to recognized love, and the ending was a lovely twist on the usual solution to a common trope in romances. I particularly loved how the heroine defended the hero to his family, rather than vice versa.
One of my all-time favorite contemporaries. Hilarious, sexy, and unputdownable. If you don’t fall in love with these two characters, you have a heart of stone. 😉
I loved this book. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Different from the usual romances.
