Eric de Vries.Looks like millions. Worth billions.A body like the David with a mind to match. Unfortunately for this wayward heir, to keep his money, he needs a wife. And of all the women in the world, he chooses me. Too bad I’ve hated him for five years, since he took all my tears and tossed me away. The guy slept his way through half of New England and discarded women like hotel toiletries.Been … women like hotel toiletries.
Been there. Done that.
Still…what would you do for twenty million dollars?
Would you wear the dress?
Fake a smile for the man who broke your heart?
Or would you run far, far away?
Yeah, that’s what I thought.
I’ll see you at the church.

The Hate Vow (Quicksilver Triology Book One) is an entangled tale between Eric der Vries and Jane Lee Lefferts.
With a cool beans bombshell heroine with pink hair. Absolutely loved Jane’s sassy personality and beautiful soul. Eric is absolutely book boyfriend worthy.
Nicole has created multidimensional characters with Eric and Jane.
An array of supporting character’s whom some you will love and others you will hate.
I loved the fun & flirty banter between Eric and Jane. These two go against the grain, love and magic are like oil and water–they just don’t mix.
This author paints a beautiful canvas that is so vivid & descriptively detailed that you feel like you are right there along side them.
Deception and Secrets intricately trickling through the pages of the narrative. Her writing style is explosive and captivating.
I’m about to go to pieces as I need book two now as I can’t wait till June for the release of book two The Kiss Plot.
One of my all time favourite reads.
Yes yes yes!!!!!!! I have been waiting for this book to release since I finished reading The Spitfire series! OMG y’all!! This book will hit you in the FEELS!! There is nothing in this book that will have you saying, oh, I saw that coming! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!! Gah!! There’s a lot of intense emotions, angst, heat and love, YES LOVE!! I love J and E so much and have been wishing for them to be together, and FINALLY, FINALLY!!! But then, BAM,, I’m left with a cliffy! Even though there’s a cliffy, it is so worth it!!!!! Seriously, get this book NOW!!
The Hate Vow was one of my most anticipated reads of 2019. Now it’s one of my all-time favorites. This enthralling journey is truly unforgettable and I cannot wait for more!
This book is phenomenal. I don’t usually pre-order books from an author I’ve never heard of but let me tell you I am so glad I did. This book had me hooked from beginning to end with different twists and turns than I expected. There is so much more to Eric than you’d think and Jane is so resilient and can hold her own but yet knows when enough is enough. Will Jane and Eric be able to keep this a business transaction and keep past feelings in the past? Or will it turn into a real wedding and them actually wanting to marry each other? Nicole keeps you guessing until the end of the book.
This book, this book makes you feel so many different things.
I’ve been waiting for this book since we were first introduced to Jane and Eric back in The Spitfire Series, and it did not disappoint. The twists and turns were prefect. The writing was perfect. It draws you in so much that the real world around you disappears and then all of a sudden its over and your left wanting so much more. I cant wait to see what Nicole comes up with next in The Kiss Plot.
Amazing job Nicole!!!!
I loved to hate this vow!!! Another winner from the fab N French!
Eric and Jane, super hot couple alert…also, cliffy alert. The author gives us just enough to hang onto until we meet again…
You either love or hate this genre, I love it and this couple is the epitome of enemies to lovers!
Eric’s family is loaded, Jane is eccentric and full of personality, definitely not who his parents would see him with.
If you enjoy big personalities, super steamy scenes and tons of emotions, you’ll love The Hate Vow!!!
I can’t wait for the next book!!!
This wasn’t my favorite book from Nicole French, I thought there were more questions than answers in this book, which I know will be answered in the next book or so. That said I didn’t love this book. The story at times was funny and I did enjoy the antics, It for me this story was lacking..
I loved this book. It’s always interesting when the men have to get a wife to keep their money..and the women go in thinking they’ll not fall in love..another great book by Nicole
Eric De Vres is so swoon worthy man. Jane and Eric had so much tension throughout the book that is made it a total page Turner. That ending though come on June.
I feel like I’m the dissenting opinion here (if I base my thoughts on the rest of the reviews). But I had a hard time with this book. Exact words Queen J said to me as I ranted:
I haven’t seen you this worked up in a long time. I’m worried and amused.
I think it all boils down to this: I was bored, and then I wasn’t, and then it all went to shit. The Hate Vow also suffers from something Queen J and I like to call TMTS: the Too Many Tropes Syndrome. I’m actually working on a Venn diagram about it, but until that’s done, I’m going to just list the tropes that appeared in The Hate Vow.
-hate-to-lovers
-fake marriage
-second chance
-BDSM
-billionaire
Do you get what I’m saying here? The Hate Vow had too many identities for me, so when you add that + difficult to like characters + overly dramatic cliffhanger ending = Queen B is not a fan.
Another fantastic read by Nicole French! This is one author I never get tired of reading, and is always on my must read list. I love how she has so much story to write about her characters that they span over two or three books. Jane and Eric’s story is no different. This first book in Jane and Eric’s story sucks you in, and leaves you with your jaw on the floor. From a domineering grandmother, a manipulative socialite and two main characters with a rocky past, Nicole takes you through a barrage of emotions, and leaves you begging for more. I will now be anxiously awaiting the next book!
Well I finished The Hate Vow and I am not quite sure how I feel about it. Is it a well written book…yes. Are the characters interesting…yes. Am I planning to read the next book about them…yes because I need to know what has happened! We have Eric de Vries, a smart, successful attorney that works hard and plays even harder. He’s the heir to a multi-billion dollar corporation and has been put on notice by his dying grandmother. Get married, stay married and produce an heir or she’s selling the family business and all of his relatives that spend their days spending money are going to be in for the shock of their lives when the well runs dry. Eric never planned to marry and if he did there’s only one woman that he would consider. His ex girlfriend Jane Lefferts. They haven’t really spoken in 5 years since they had a bad breakup after law school. This story is about Eric approaching Jane with a marriage of convenience. Get married, stay married for 5 years and he gives her 20 million dollars and they both move on with their lives. Jane thinks he’s crazy to think that she would consider doing this even though she’s currently out of a job and sleeping on her mother’s couch. I wish this had been the complete story and maybe I could give a clearer review. There are great parts to The Hate Vow but there’s parts that I think could have easily been edited out. Read it and see what you think.
Nicole has DONE IT AGAIN!!!! This book is full of spice and suspense. She keeps you on your toes through the whole book. From love to hate, to marry or not, to submit to pressure or walk away. Jane and Eric are a force to be wreckoned with! This is the power couple of the year! This book is a must read for yourself! I for one couldn’t put the book down! You DON’T know what you are missing!
“The man somehow always knew my desires before I even thought of them.”
The Hate Vow is a book that splits my readers soul. As much as I enjoyed reading it, I struggled with the overal setup. Certain things, behaviours, actions made it hard for me to totally buy the story.
Also, the fact that this book is pretty long and it sometimes felt like the story was dragged (due to IMO unnecessary ‘fillers’), prevented me from really falling for it. In addition to that, I sometimes felt exhausted reading it, the constant back and forth banter, the constant push and pull and the constant fight with the family left me somehow a little emotionally drained.
”I shouldn’t have kissed Eric de Vries, because it wsa like being caught in a lightning storm.”
However, what I loved about the book is the great sexual tension between Eric and Jane. I enjoyed following their relationship development specially with those glimpses of their past. I really liked the way their feelings shifted as they navigated through this special situation. Feelings both tried hard to hide because they both felt heart broken by the other in the past. And this anticipation that therefore was build between them was totally killing it.
”It was a kiss that seared straight to my soul, branding me the way that only Eric de Vries could ever do.”
The Hate Vow is an entertaining book in an interesting and unique setup that makes you laugh more than once, leaving you with a cliff-hanger. I’m really curious what the future will have in store for Jane and Eric.
Nicole is trying to kill me. These books of hers never fail to pull my emotions in like I am not some one just reading their story…. but like I am a friend of theirs watching the love unfold before me. And then when you see things happening you really just want to warn them…. or jump in to slap a person or 2. This book had me all over the place. The fact that I already knew of Jane and Eric from reading the Spitfire trilogy just made me have more of a connection to them from the beginning…. it didn’t take time for me to get attached to them. The back and forth that they have always had means that you know it isn’t going to end with the “I love you”. I think these 2 could literally say that a million times before you would even think that “maybe” this could be the HEA point. This book had a great suspenseful underlying story that has my brain all over the place asking too many questions! Now I will just keep on asking these questions for the next 3 months while I wait for the next book!!! Worth it! Go get it! Totally 5 star worthy…
The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that I remained totally engaged throughout the entire book! I always look forward to reading what this author writes next!
The moment that I read the intro to this book I knew that it would be so worth the wait! Eric and Jane may begin has a college friendship with benefits but it seems that it as so much more to each of them .Now years later Eric returns with a offer that is crazy absurd but has intrigued our lovely Jane.
You know that the chemistry is there but as the story unfolds it becomes apparent that their are secrets, lies and so much history. This is more than a college romance . The characters each hold a mystery that you soon realize brings them all closer and connects them in a way they never saw coming! OMG the cliffhanger will leave you speechless !!Loved it !!

The Hate Vow is book one in the Quicksilver series. Eric de Vries is a billionaire and for him to keep that money he needs a wife. He chooses to ask Jane Lee Lefferts, who has hated Eric for years. But will she turn down a $20 million dollar deal? This book was really well written, the characters and their emotions really came to life. And there were some great steamy scenes as well, which everyone loves! Jane and Eric have a will they-won’t they, love/hate, push/pull type of relationship. In this first book you get to hear a lot of their backstory and why they’re like this with each other. The cliffhanger in this book is crazy and I can’t wait to read what happens next! 4 stars
I stayed up literally all night reading this book, and now I have to wait three months for the next one?? But I wanna know what happens next!!
Well, what do you do when you’re a playboy and love it…. but handed an ultimatum from your grandmother that you marry if you want to keep your billionaire status? You go back to the woman that you are at risk of losing your heart to!
Eric & Jane make a great couple & will have you swooning. We they marry, will they become more than a means to keep his money? Wow, you will enjoy reading and finding out!
