With only one team willing to give me a chance, I had no time for a … relationship.
But, after one night with Georgia Reed, the hopeless romantic with fiery red hair and an attitude to match, I was hooked.
With Georgia cheering me on, it didn’t feel like the world was against me anymore.
That was, until her father stepped into the locker room as my new head coach.

If you’re into sexy football players, broken heroes, fiery heroines that won’t give up on their man and a little bit of emotional torture, then THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!
Quinn is a good guy who has had a hard life. Even though he has found a group of friends that are like brothers to him and prior success in his football career, he still struggles to find the stability and happiness that everyone around him seems to have. His secrets have kept him from it. He reconnects with Georgia who he met at a party a year earlier. Their instant chemistry gives their relationship a quick start but Quinn’s secrets once again make happiness elusive.
Quinn is a great guy and so deserving of the happiness that’s eluded him his whole life. Georgia is definitely the right person at the right time for Quinn. Her love, encouragement, and support enable him to achieve things that he couldn’t on his own; he is an even better person with Georgia than without. Their emotional happily ever after makes a beautiful story that’s so much more than just a sports romance.
The side characters – Quinn’s friends and Georgia’s family – provide excellent comic relief in this emotional story.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
Just a sweet and simple love story with a whopper of a surprise towards the end. I was beginning to be worried because I was thinking it was going to be bland, yet it turned out to be anything but. Interesting!
Quinn is newly arrived to Atlanta where he joined the Georgia Falcons football team. We read that he had problems with his previous team, where he was late to practices, bad plays during games, and gained a diva reputation. He’s not well received in his new team, and we read all these references to his problems but we don’t get any information about what happened. Anyway, he’s determined to rise above his past problems, work his butt off and win over his teammates and the coach.
His sister Jamie moved to Atlanta with him. They shared a crappy childhood in a hick poor town where they were raised by an abusive father. They both wear the signs of having survived an abusive childhood. So Quinn is the epitome of a rags to riches story, except that after the first years of pro play, where he broke many records and won the reputation of being a star player, he started flunking, and got traded to the Falcons.
On their first night in Atlanta, they go out for dinner and drinks and they run into Georgia Reed, whom they had met the previous year at Aiden’s house. Aiden is one of Quinn’s close friends, and appears in The Hardest Hit. Now at the bar, it’s evident the attraction is still there and hot, and they make arrangements to meet later on.
And then we start on a love story that is ridden with pitfalls that threaten to split these two apart. Quinn faces several situations and starts to have problems at practices. He’s very close-mouthed about his reasons. Luckily, Georgia is tenacious and she saves the day when it seems they are going to crash and burn. At some point I saw her as pushy, but then I saw that being so is what makes their relation work. Despite his discipline, Quinn is a little accepting of his bad luck and at many times needed a push. When things begin to get dicey, it was Georgia’s persistence that saves the day.
All the characters in this story are memorable, and mostly Quinn. He’s a giver, a man who pays attention, generous to a fault.
“Quinn’s beauty was in the way he got me, somehow after only a week knew what to say to make me feel better, could take my endless teasing in stride, and gazed at me with ocean-blue eyes that seemed to see directly into the most hidden parts of me.”
He was quietly strong and supportive. In many ways, he was a hero, but without any fanfares. This books started out sweet and ended super angsty and I loved it. It was an easy read, great pace, and great characters. What I loved most was the kindness in the characters, it shone through in all their words and actions.
I have been waiting for Quinn’s story since the first book in this series, and A.S Teague didn’t disappoint with his story. From the first page, I was captivated, and I couldn’t put this book down. I really loved both Griff and Aiden’s stories but there was just something about Quinn’s story that resonated with me.
Quinn is the quiet one in his group of friends, and truly an all-around great guy. He’s a great friend, and an even better football player. Unfortunately for him, bad press has hindered his reputation on and off the football field. His new team is the only team that is willing to take chance on him and he’ll do whatever it takes to prove he belongs there. It doesn’t hurt that he’s found a great woman in his new town. Georgia is everything he wants in a woman, but when he finds out her dad is his new head coach, he has to ask if she’s worth it?
Loved this story. Trying to piece together the Quinn Miller puzzle only added to the intrigue of this story. The love between Quinn and his friends, and the fact that they’ve kept up that friendship is seriously amazing. Every part of this story was fantastic, even the not so pretty parts. This book was a journey for the characters involved, and A.S. Teague told a fantastic story. I highly recommend this entire series for anyone that loves a good comeback story!
All my love for this one! This is by far my favorite. This one is just so beautiful and I loved the relationship between Georgia and Quinn, that they don’t give up in each other. They were just perfect for each other.
And Quinn! He’s the greatest guy ever, totally a perfect book boyfriend! There’s so many parts that I love in this book, but I’m not going to spoil it. So go and read this one please! Highly highly recommended!

Lean on me, we all need someone to lean on. For Quinn Miller, he’s always been that guy. Growing up in a tragic situation, he become the sole caregiver for his sister early on. He loves her, lives for her and would do anything for her, even tank his football career. All his dreams take a backseat to taking care of his sister. Life is hard, man.
When he meets Georgia, he’s reminded that his dreams matter too. This vivacious, sassy badass woman lights him up inside and he temporarily forgets all the hard stuff but the hits keep coming, as they do. As is his way, Quinn shoulders the dark stuff on his own and pushes everyone, including the woman of his dreams away. This time, it might be too much.
Oh the feels. Anyone whose been around someone who struggles with addiction, this hits all the feels. My heart just broke for this extraordinary man. His strength and love was just beautiful. And Georgia, ah she was amazing. Strong, funny, compassionate and a perfect match for our loveable hero. For the first time, someone decides Quinn’s worth it and helps him carry the weight. Fantastic book and I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Quinn and Georgia were amazing together! He is a guy with a heart of gold and falls for Georgia pretty quickly. Things get complicated as her dad is the coach of Quinn’s new team. They both appeared in previous books but it is here we really get to know them.
The more I read the more I grew to love the characters, especially Quinn. He had a lot of struggles in his life that others really didn’t know about. I was glad to see him find love and a happily ever after.
I have not read the other books in this series, but I am looking forward to going back to the beginning and reading them all.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
The Hardest Play is one amazing touchdown of a book. It’s a mixture of sexy, suspense, and love. I really enjoyed reading this story and getting immersed in this fabulous world with Quinn and Georgia. Ms. Teague writes one heck of a story and I can’t wait to read more by her in the near future.
A.S Teague is a relatively new author to me and I’m really struggling to understand why.
The Hardest Play drew me in and I was captivated from the first line to the last page, I loved the characters, I loved the plot and I’m sure Quinn and Georgia’s story will appeal to all romance lovers . Quinn is a man we would all love to have out back, he is protective, loving and loyal and Georgia is the woman we would all love to be, strong, supportive and independent.
Quinn has overcome many hurdles in life and in his football career, his little sister takes up any spare time he has but when he meets Georgia he realises it’s time to do something for himself, not for football and not for his sister, now it’s his time…….
Problem is his younger sister is on the path to self destruction, will Georgia be the one to give him strength to see what really needs to be done or will he walk away from what could be his only chance at love and happiness …….
This book ticked all my boxes, it’s an emotional roller coaster, you will laugh, you will want to cry for all the hurt from the past and you will sigh and swoon at all the love for the future. It’s a story of love and determination and I highly recommend it.
a beautiful story that you will always keep with you and remember!
Before I put my opinion down I’m going to start by saying this review is based on personal preference. Quinn and Georgia has an instant attraction. Quinn is a nice guy with a heart of gold with a bad boy reputation. I get why he let his image be portrayed that way, but I feel it was crazy to continue to let it hurt his career for so long. Now, as much as we want a guy to treat us right, Quinn bored me. He was too nice for me. It was one thing to help her get to her meeting but everything after was not what I want a guy I’m attracted to do. I would want him to want to be in bed all day not lay in robes and watch sappy movies. I also wish there was more of him at the stadium interacting with the players. It was cute but not for me.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
Quinn Miller seemed like he had it all. A professional football player who’d gone from having nothing to seemingly having it all, until he’s traded and everything starts to take it’s toll on him. Joining a new team is never easy but when the players don’t want you there and the rumours are going wild it’s made even more difficult. I really liked Quinn. Giving up just isn’t an option so he’s willing to keep his head down and let his performance on the field speak for itself. But there’s more to Quinn than what he lets on. He’s ridiculously loyal, he proves time and again that he’ll do anything for those he loves. When he meets Georgia, they hit it off straight away but it’s not going to be easy for them. Have they got what it takes to make things work between them? You’ll have to read it and see.
This is another great book from A.S. Teague
The Hardest Play by A.S. Teague was an emotional and heartfelt story and though definitely a sports romance, it was so much more as well. Quinn and Georgia met about a year ago and hit it off right away. So, when they meet again about a year later, it was easy to pick up where they left off. They shared a connection and great chemistry. Georgia was strong, fun and easy-going. Quinn was such a likable guy and was determined and caring. But he was also trying to turn his image around. I loved watching Quinn and Georgia fall even as so much happening around them. They were so good together, and really stood by each other.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
While being a football star, Quinn has had to overcome loads of obstacles. But it is not until he meets Georgia that he puts things on the back burner and tries to do something for himself. But at the same time his little sister Jamie is in a path of self destruction. Will Quinn give up everything to help his sister? Or will the love and acceptance he gets from Georgia finally be the thing that opens his eyes and allows him to finally have the strength to break free? This is the third book in the series and although I loved the first two, this one hit every emotional string I have. The love for a family member sometimes overshadows the part missing inside yourself. Highly emotional and highly entertaining. A great read.
This is my first book read by A. S. Teague and cannot wait to read more from this author. This is the story of Quinn and Georgia.
Quinn is a good man, protective and loving. He takes care of his sister Jamie and he always has time for her and he is very protective. I love Quinn because he is a great man and he made the right decision.
I was a happy person. For the most part, at least. I hated feeling sad.
Georgia is a happy person and she is funny and loyal. She loves her job and her job is her passion. She loves her family and her family always supported her.
You are without a doubt the most interesting woman I’ve ever meet. I knew the minute you told me not to drop the ball that night in the bar that I was in love with you.
Quinn and Georgia meet in a bar and for them was love at first sight but they didn’t stay in touch. They meet again when Quinn was traded in Atlanta. This time, both of them decided that it’s time to be together. But Quinn’s secret threatened to destroy their relationship but Georgia proved him that he didn’t have to choose and that she will always be there for him. Georgia helped him and believed in him when Quinn needed the most.
I love your hair, I love your confidence, I love your compassion for things like opossums. But what I love the most of all is your stubbornness. Because you refused to give up on me when maybe you should have, and if it weren’t for the fact that you have no problem digging your heels in. I wouldn’t be standing here right now…
The Hardest Play is a beautiful love and I loved the relationship between Georgia and Quinn and that they don’t give up in each other. They were perfect for each other.
Quinn looks like he has it all on the outside. He plays in the NFL and has a fantastic group of friends, however, there is so much the world doesn’t see or know about his life and the obstacles that he has to continually overcome. Georgia is the opposite of Quinn. She has a loving family, a great support system, but where she does relate is that she struggles with events of her past. Will Quinn be able to tell Georgia his truths? Will She accept them?
I love Quinn. The amount of pain and responsibility he takes on is insane, but despite the fact it has given some people bad opinions of him he does everything in his power to help and to keep his little sister safe. Georgia is so loving and caring and supportive. It is hard not love her, too. She was a rock for Quinn throughout so much of the story. The chemistry Quinn and Georgia had was amazing and instant. From the moment they met there was an attraction and a pull to each other.
I love the bromance between Griff, Aiden and Quinn. I’ve loved it from the beginning and it just continues to get better and better. They are truly more like brother’s than friends at this point. The fact that Georgia is instantly accepted into the fold is great.
The Hardest Play was hot, emotional and completely breathtaking. This story will break you heart, have you on the edge of your seat but it will leave you smiling at the end. A MUST READ!
Quinn’s been traded to a team and he’s already on iffy terms with them, so he really needs to stay toe the line. He’s also dealing with the protective gene of his that is really so far only roused by the younger sister he takes care of. So when he meets Georgia again, he isn’t really in the right mindset to start a relationship. But there’s something so bright and vivacious about her, something that calls him to her. For the first time he’s wondering if he can possibly have something just for him. Love. A relationship with someone who seems to just want to be around him. Someone who is concerned for him and wants nothing from him but himself. It just may be possible. If only Georgia weren’t his new coach’s daughter. If only his sister’s care didn’t take all of his attention again.
Georgia’s fierce and she knows what and whom she wants, whom she loves. Quinn’s it for her. So take care of him, she will. Once she finds out what is going on in his life, why his attention is split, she knows for sure he’s her man. He just needs to let her in. Or maybe she can take care of him even if he doesn’t seem to want to let her. Maybe…
I loved this new installment of this series. Quinn and Georgia are such a fabulous couple. He’s got such a lovely heart, he’s so fiercely protective and loving with his sister, and Georgia is the perfect partner for him because she’s just as fiercely loving and protective as he, and she focuses it all on Quinn, who more than deserves all her love and attention. Swoon!
This was a good read for me. This was the first book in the series that I’ve read, and while there is mention of the other friends, I never felt lost. I thought Quinn and Georgia were a good match, and they had great chemistry. The drama that happens between these 2 happens early in the story, but there are other things going on with her family and his. I loved seeing Quinn become a part of Georgia’s family. It was great how they welcomed him. I was also happy to see everything turn out okay with Jamie as well. Real life doesn’t always turn out that way, but that’s why I love books =) This was a first for me from this author, but I will be looking for whatever comes next!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This was a humorous, sexy, and emotional read.
”Georgia had reminded me that I was human, that I was a man, and that I was worthy of love.”
Quinn Miller is dedicated to two things – football and his younger sister. His devotion to looking after his sister is almost detrimental to his career but she is all that he has left in the world. When he meets Georgia Reed again, he starts to wonder if there’s room in his life for romance, especially as she brings some true happiness into his life.
There was no way to describe his kiss. But if there had ever been a moment in my life when everything felt right with the world, this was it.”
Georgia is a daddy’s girl but not spoilt, and is charming and sweet. She’s determined about going for what she wants but she’s not obnoxious. She’s been crushing on Quinn since she first met him months before, and it feels like fate has brought him into her life again. Just when things start to look promising, Quinn seems to switch off but there’s no way she’s letting him go without a fight.
”You blew into my life and I had to grab on for dear life, but now? I’m not sure that I can let you go.”
Quinn and Georgia were really great together. They were sweet and sexy, and I loved the trust they built between them. Quinn took a massive step with Georgia, but she was completely all in with him, once she figured out what was holding him back. I loved her family dynamics and how they also became Quinn’s family. There were moments in this story that were very emotional and I really enjoyed where the writer went with the storyline.
