NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • BONUS: This edition contains an excerpt from Lee Child’s Bad Luck and Trouble. In Lee Child’s astonishing new thriller, ex–military cop Reacher sees more than most people would…and because of that, he’s thrust into an explosive situation that’s about to blow up in his face. For the only way to find the truth—and save two innocent lives—is to do it the way Jack … lives—is to do it the way Jack Reacher does it best: the hard way….
Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it, soaking up the hot, electric New York City night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercedes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money. And Edward Lane, the man who paid it, will pay even more to get his family back. Lane runs a highly illegal soldiers-for-hire operation. He will use any amount of money and any tool to find his beautiful wife and child. And then he’ll turn Jack Reacher loose with a vengeance—because Reacher is the best man hunter in the world.
On the trail of a vicious kidnapper, Reacher is learning the chilling secrets of his employer’s past…and of a horrific drama in the heart of a nasty little war. He’s beginning to realize that Edward Lane is hiding something. Something dirty. Something big. But Reacher also knows this: he’s already in way too deep to stop now.

I love Jack Reacher every time!
I really could not put it down. Reacher evolves… it’s a very good read
What you expect in the genre. Action and thoughtful.
As with all Lee Child’s Jack Reacher stories ya just can’t put the book down! He develops each of the accompanying characters just enough to ‘know’ them. I love Jack Reacher’s sense of right-and-wrong and the need to ‘set things right’ when confronted with evil. At the end, you always close the book with a satisfied nod of the head, a thought of ‘well done’ ex-Major Reacher, and an anticipation of where in the USA will we find him in the next book.
Good job Mr. Child!
Love Lee Child’s Jack Teacher books.
You cannot go wrong with a Lee Child book – all are 5 star.
Lee Child never disappoints!
Jack Reacher books are always an exciting way to spend a few hours. I enjoy reading Lee Child’s well scripted, fast paced writing style. I highly recommend The Hard Way.
Boring. Could have been about 100 pages shorter. Trading upon his main character’s name with little attempt to provide a good read. I have read most of Lee Child’s other Reacher novels. IMO, they were much better reads.
Love all the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. I have read them all except for his latest titled “No MIddle Name”. There are bar none the best action/adventure/detective/crime novels on the market. I highly recommend them.
Jack Reacher is a great character.
like all Reacher books
Another great Jack Reacher book. I wish it had been another 100 pages. I wasn’t ready for it to end
guessed the whodunnit part . not up to par in that way.
