NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • BONUS: This edition contains an excerpt from Lee Child’s Bad Luck and Trouble. In Lee Child’s astonishing new thriller, ex–military cop Reacher sees more than most people would…and because of that, he’s thrust into an explosive situation that’s about to blow up in his face. For the only way to find the truth—and save two innocent lives—is to do it the way Jack … lives—is to do it the way Jack Reacher does it best: the hard way….
Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it, soaking up the hot, electric New York City night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercedes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money. And Edward Lane, the man who paid it, will pay even more to get his family back. Lane runs a highly illegal soldiers-for-hire operation. He will use any amount of money and any tool to find his beautiful wife and child. And then he’ll turn Jack Reacher loose with a vengeance—because Reacher is the best man hunter in the world.
On the trail of a vicious kidnapper, Reacher is learning the chilling secrets of his employer’s past…and of a horrific drama in the heart of a nasty little war. He’s beginning to realize that Edward Lane is hiding something. Something dirty. Something big. But Reacher also knows this: he’s already in way too deep to stop now.

Great read. Thought I Had read it years ago but guess not. Like all his books.
Good read…kept me guessing almost to the end..
I love Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. Every one of them will keep me up all night!
As good as any other Jack Reacher book, and I have read them all.
love Jack Reacher
All his books are great.
Escape reading at it’s best. Captivating story, realistic (but not too realistic) plot but without unnecessary gruesome details. The essence of Lee Child.
Who don’t love Jack Reacher
Second book in a row that Child seems to have mailed in. He needs to go back to the first few books and see what he’s missing.
He’s a good writer and I’ve certainly enjoyed many Jack Reacher books, but this one felt a bit “mailed in”.
The author is either getting bored or complacent. That was much the way I felt, slogging through Night School. I’ve read the entire Reacher series with enthusiasm, but Child left me asleep at my desk this time.
This is the 3rd Jack Reacher novel i’ve read, though not in sequence. It kept my interest, and was a fun read, with a number of twists. There could have been more character development for the ancillary characters, but that would have made it a longer book. I’d give it 3.7 stars, but you can’t do that with this system.
It’s Reacher. There is nothing better.
One of greatest writers. Reacher is an original character. Good flow.
The best!
Typical of this writer.
I love the main character and the length of each chapter allowing one to read in short time frames.
Tom Cruise is no Jack Reacher!
Great summer read
Good read. Fifth Jack Reacher nobel i purchased. Will eventually buy them all.
Always a good read. Jack reacher stories are very entertaining and fast paced.
