“Warms my soul… such a joy to read… like a breath of fresh air.” Jaffa Reads TooMeet Phoebe, who’s 28, and Laney, Dot and Maggie, who are 68, 78, and none of your business.Together they’ll prove that age doesn’t matter when it comes to friendship, togetherness and an unquenchable zest for life. The residents of the Happy Home for Ladies have a big problem. Terrence, the owner’s mean-spirited … a big problem. Terrence, the owner’s mean-spirited father, is about to move into their famously all-female senior living home. Far from coasting into their twilight years, these women have a lot of living to do. And they’re planning to do it where the toilet seats stay firmly down.
The home’s chef, Phoebe, is desperate to help her friends plot to keep the all-women community that means so much to them. It’s become her life raft, too. Her job might be the only thing that finally makes her parents proud. If only Phoebe’s (probably hopeless) love, Nick, wasn’t lining up on the other side of the battle.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for everyone. Unless the home’s owner can improve business by moving men in, he’s going to close it down. Then the women will lose everything.

Fun read filled with escapades of ladies who had given up their homes for
a life of simplification and a nasty old man who’s son puts him in the home
since the cost is free.
I can’t believe I finished the book I kept waiting for it to Get better it didn’t.
I loved this book. Don’t miss it
It was a fun book to read
Sweet. Charming. I really liked it.
I loved this book!
It is nice to read a book, that you enjoy and gives you a few laughs.
Loved this!
A young chef falls for a worker in the ladies home. All goes well until owner decides to make it co-ed. Pandemonium breaks loose, but romance blooms.
This is a very original plot with original characters. It’s an easy read.
Loved this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry. But most of all it made me wish for these types of friends and a place like this to live in when I’m retired. The forward thinking, risk taking of the 2 main characters made me hope!
I KEPT WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN. MORE OF A PLOT. THE CHARACTERS WERE OKAY BUT UNINSPIRING.
it was ok, nothing special
A real yawner
Book did not hold my interest. And so did not finish.
Even though the book was a slow read, it was worth sticking it out to the end. The subject matter is important to consider and the presentation was lovely.
It’s an okay read when you want something light after reading a heavy story.
very entertaining
Loved these characters! They hook you
A Clever story about some seniors at a care home who have bonded together and now must welcome or at least tolerate a new resident who is less than charming. How they absorb this character along with the ongoing romance of their caretakers is engaging.
