This was never supposed to happen. When Valentina’s coven is attacked and she’s the only survivor, she saves the Suit of Spades, which she is sword to protect, and flees. Thank the Goddess there’s a solid protocol in place! All she needs to do is find the Major Arcana, and Keepers who are more powerful and experienced than her will take over from there and protect the Mysteries of the Tarot.Or … Tarot.
Or not.
What happens when half of the Major Arcana is destroyed? Valentina doesn’t know. There are no protocols. No precedent. She’s lost, but the good news is she’s not alone. She can count of her best friend, Piper, a hobgoblin who decided to follow them, and now on this handsome, hot as sin guy who claims he’s Loki himself, the God of Mischief.
It could have been worse.
Oh, wait! It’s going to be. Because in order to save the Tarot, Valentina will soon have to deal with even more gods. And, it is known, gods are impossible to work with! Mainly, because they hate each other. One witch to convince nine powerful gods to play nice?
Unlikely.
Note from the author: This is a slow-burn reverse harem book. Although the next books in the series will be steamy and 18+, this one is quite tame. Hang in there! The steam is coming! Also, make sure to check out the Prequel – The Test, to meet Valentina’s nine gods before she meets them for real in the series.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and is wonderfully engaging. You will laugh at some of the antics the characters do as well as cry with heartbreak right along with them. I cannot wait to see what will happen next.

This book is entertaining, action packed and thoroughly enjoyable. The chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is a great start to a series. Valentia is an interesting MC – she’s stubborn, smart, and trying to stay in control in a chaotic time. I like her friend Piper – everyone needs a friend like her 🙂 This is a slow burn RH, and we meet 2 of her future men in this story. I like Wylde”s mix of tarot, witch’s, and gods. She has created an original world and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
The temple where Valentina has spent so much time in training to become a Keeper of the Spades, is attacked, and while the Keeper, and her coven have been destroyed, she manages to save save the Suit of Spades. Val will confide in her best friend, Piper, and together they will leave their home in an effort to find the Major Arcana. Unfortunately, the Major Arcana, and its protectors was also attacked, half the Suit is destroyed. Now it is up to Val to protect the Mysteries of the Tarot, and restore the cards that were lost. After leaving the US, and traveling to Italy, Valentina and Piper will meet a hobgoblin, that will decide to travel with them whether they like it or not, and a sexy stranger who claims to be Loki, the God of Mischief. Loki will then lead them to a young woman who he insists will be instrumental in restoring the cards of the Major Arcana.
Exciting and fascinating characters that fate has, apparently, chosen to find nine Gods and convince them to give up their freedom and become one of the cards in the Major Arcana. Fantastic and unique plot with a mystery, some suspenseful moments, a few chuckles. I think that this is just the beginning of an absolutely wonderful series, definitely a must read. Loved it!
