Well written and even though I knew the hero was not who he originally purported to be. The author still managed to maintain suspense to the end
A bit more to it than your usual romance. I enjoyed the twist on the usual unequal life stations.
Moved slowly, dramatic/melancholic at times, social situations bizarre, odd and unbelievable The heroine hung in there and got her man.
The story telling was awesome, as it was like having a seek peek into someones journal.
I loved it
Clever resolution of several problems. Good descriptive language of both emotional content and settings. Satisfying read.
It was interesting. It was too short for my tastes.
Interesting point of view for an average romance.
A book that catches your interest and makes you wonder what the main character is going to do next. It is a comical yet mysterious book Enjoyed it a lot
I was surprised to find a book with a plot in the past that was not only clever enough to engage a 21st century reader but that was written in a style from that era giving it an authenticity lacking in so much historical fiction. It was wonderfully refreshing and I absolutely loved that there was no wasted space on useless sex scenes, which, in my opinion, cheapen so many fictional romance novels.
Took forever to find out what the title word meant.
Great book. Kept me interested all the way thru
Very interesting in a very positive way. You could sense the direction but you needed to keep reading to make sure. Characters were believable because you know them in your experiences
What a charmer!
A pleasant, easy read. I was annoyed at the conclusion, although I understood his (and his mother’s) motivations, but it seemed quite malicious to test her loyalty so severely.
I read it but I couldn’t get into it.
I was pleasantly surprised reading this book, I thought it might be a sappy Harlequin romance and it does start out a little like that but quickly changes to a light hearted mystery with a a very good ending. It was a quick read but kept me up late to finish it.
I read this one in one setting! It didn’t end like I thought it would. But a very good story and I especially liked that there were no descriptive sex scenes!!!
A cute romance with a twist. You could see the twist from miles away, but it was still a fun, easy read.
It was a delightful narrative told in the first person told with a twist.
