The Hallowed is the second book in The Scrying Trilogy by JC Miller and delivers even more intrigue and intensity than the first. The story picks up where the last one left off, moving in the direction I hoped it would. I wanted to see more interaction between Dane and her close friends. I wanted to learn more about them and the special connection I suspected they shared. Miller didn’t disappoint. From celestial beings and paranormal powers to romantic bindings, this group of strong women and their men pull together to fight the evil threatening the realms.
I don’t want to say too much and give anything away. This is a book to be savored for each intricate detail and vivid description. The realms born from the writer’s imagination intermingled with Celtic lore are magical and incredibly mysterious.
I’m looking forward to the conclusion of this series and learning what else these supernaturals will uncover.
The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2 ) By Jaci Miller
5 Star
The Hallowed ( The Scrying Trilogy Book 2) by Jaci Miller is the second Book in The Scrying Trilogy series. I would highly recommend reading the books in order as this one picks up where book one left off. I was hooked from the beginning only because I was dying to dive into the story again.I had the hardest time putting this down once I started reading. I just love Dane and Rafe’s characters .I felt like this story had more intensity and intrigue. These two will take you on a journey secrets, war, and threats they didn’t realize existed I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
The Hallowed by Jaci Miller is a home run in my eyes. If you have not read The Scrying I need you to step back and read book one because you will thank me after you read both books. Jaci Miller really made a universe. She built it up and made you think that she was there and now is back to Earth and is writing her experiences.
Dane and Rafe are back in this book. These two characters are introduced in book one. Jaci Miller has done an amazing job of building these characters and to let us see into their being. They are growing with each other and now we will have to see how much more they have grown throughout the series.
I will give you one warning and it is this…. Pay close attention to all the characters and where they are in the story. You will be amazed and I do not want to put spoilers out there.

I have been really looking forward to reading the second part of this trilogy since I finished book 1! I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next and I have to say it was every bit as amazing as I expected it to be. The writing again was brilliant, it flowed, it had a great pace and it kept me hooked the whole way through.
The book started straight where book 1 finish so this is not a standalone. I loved that we got to find out more about the characters in this story; they are really starting to develop well. The plot of the story is moving well and I am absolutely loving it – there really is just so much going on in the story that I cannot put it down. I love Dane and Rafe, they just have this great connection that I am really enjoying reading about!
Another fabulous read by Jaci Miller and I am ready and waiting for the third and final book! I can’t wait to see what happens!!
The Hallowed is the second series in the Scrying series by Jaci Miller.
Following the previous book, Dane is continuing the search to find more Arcanists in order to help prevent an evil from coming back. With her is Rafe, and the two are now bonded making me love their scenes together. I love when characters bond, so interesting to see how they interact with each other because of it. With the bond, will they be able to fulfill their destiny and stop the evil?
I enjoyed this book more than the first book. It was such a magical and fast paced plot that I didn’t wanna put the book down.
I’ve been in a reading slump lately, but it seems this books pulled me out.
I look forward to the next book but I don’t want this series to end.
I give The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2) by Jaci Miller, 4 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from book 1 in the series.*
The search is on for the other Arcanists. Dane and Rafe must find out who they are and take them to their worlds to activate their powers. This is difficult in and of itself, but there is also the Evil Dark — an ancient power bent on destruction. Not to mention other things that awaken when magic is reignited in the worlds. Will they be able to find the ones they need? Will it be enough?
I really enjoyed the the first book in this series, and this is a wonderful continuation of the series. The story is very interesting and well written. From reading book one, it was obvious that the next step would be finding the other Arcanists. But even knowing that, this story has many surprises and is quite interesting. The characters continue to evolve quite nicely in this story. Some of them accept their fate; some, not quite as much. Most of these characters are headed to bigger things in the future. They know their responsibilities and want to do all they can.
A book of fantasy with quite a few surprises along the way, I highly recommend this book to those who like modern fantasy with action and strong characters.
The Hallowed By Jaci Miller
5 Stars!!!!!
It’s like I’m being drawn into the world this author has created and I am living vicariously through the characters. This is the second book and it just is getting better and better. The drama is unfolding more and more in this book and it is just building. I was hooked from page one and found myself not wanting to put the book down.
The whole drama that unfolds brings the 5 friends even closer. The chemistry between Dane and Rafe is so unique and I love how they are tied to one another. The fact that Dane doesn’t lose any of her friends I think is a great twist to this series. I was drawn in more and more as the book went on to see how everyone would fit into the puzzle that is the prophecy. I found this book to be quite unique and refreshing and I cannot wait to read more from this author and the series.
The Hallowed is the second instalment of the Scrying trilogy and it is a great extension on from the first book. I would definitely recommend to read the first book before this one as the story immediately follows on and so it could get quite confusing if you don’t already know the characters and what has happened to them so far! Dane continues her destined journey and remains a strong female lead character who I absolutely love. She fearlessly works to help protect her loved ones which makes her a very easily supportable character. I also liked how this book focuses on more characters in depth than the first as Dane’s friends are included a lot more and are more of an essential part of the story. Overall, this is a great addition to the series and I will definitely be reading the final instalment in the trilogy!
The Hallow is book 2 in The Scrying trilogy from author Jaci Miller. This is a brilliant captivating and intriguing read that will keep you hooked till the end. Once again this author has created a brilliant and interesting storyline with amazing characters that make you want to follow their journey.
This read is a great high fantasy read but also filled with action, adventure, suspense, magic & twists and turns that keep you hooked till the very end. This book is a seamless transition from the end of book 1 into this one. You get the action straight away and you are never left waiting.
Once again much the same as the previous boo we are understanding and learning new things about our characters and the world they are living in.
Dane & Rafe’s relationship from the last book has gone from strength to strength, their connection with each other has gotten deeper you can’t but love them as a pairing. They are most definitely a power couple that you continually route for.
The secondary characters in this read helped enrich the story and help tell the story further, yet also giving you an insight into them in which certain characters I would like to read more about as well.
This is another book that writing to much will give away the major parts of the plot, so everyone who gets a chance to read this is prepared for a journey like no other and to be captivated with this reading.
The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2) By Jaci Miller is the next book in this exciting trilogy. I recommend reading these books in order so you understand everything. This was an exciting book that grabbed me from the start and had me turning the pages as fast as possible to see what happens next. Watching Every character progress and evolve was fantastic. The plot was well thought out and gives us an even deeper understanding of the mythology of the world the author has created. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or slow. With threats around every corner and destiny rushing to meet Dane and her allies this book kept me turning page after page and left me ready to read the last book in the series. A five out of five star read.
The Hallowed is the second book in The Scrying Trilogy by Jaci Miller and continues on from book one therefore reading The Scrying first is a must and a pleasure. This is a not only a paranormal tale but it is also full of the supernatural. Magic and prophecies, fates and destinies, mysteries and evils, tomes and realms, action and drama. All that and more in this wonderful riveting and captivating story and well developed characters as they learn their part in what is to come. Jaci has woven amazing worlds full of intrigue, where the suspense and drama is like a crescendo building and building waiting for all to be revealed. This vibrant story easily transports you into the story right along with the characters as they journey into the unknown. I am now waiting with bated breath for the next book.
The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book Two) by Jaci Miller was just as actioned packed, rich in detail as the last and had me just as, no more, invested in this epic fantasy.
Picking up where the last book left off, we are tossed right back into this lush world of magic. This book did everything I was hoping it would so and more. No more introductions, it’s go time.
I loved how we are getting more info on all character development with especially our sides. It’s added that next level of complexity in this growing series. I find sometimes as a series goes on, the side characters are forgotten about and, that makes the story a little dull and lacklustre. This series is in no danger of that, if it keeps going as it is, and I can’t wait to see what is added in the next book.
As for this story and it’s plot, there isn’t much I want to say because I don’t want to spoil anything. Not only for the readers of this book, but for any new one that just stumbled across it. Just know that this book is freaking outstanding, engaging, and it’s going to a very solid exciting direction. As I’ve said, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. Our MC’s are in it deep and I need to know what happens next. You can’t just stop a book like that!
On that note, please, please take my super high recommendation that you will get captured by this unique original series, full of magic, twist, turns, and nefarious schemes.
Happy Reading
-E.A. Walsh
Highly recommend reading book one of this series prior to this one so you don’t miss out on anything! This starts right where we were left & is action packed and engaging until the end! Bonds grow stronger, drama intensifies, and paranormal is all over in this book! Can’t wait to see what happens next in this fantastical world!
The Hallowed is the second book in The Scrying Trilogy. This book ends in a cliffhanger, and you need to read the first book to really understand what is going on in the second one.
The author has done a wonderful job of creating another Universe that is believable and yet full of fantasy, existing simultaneously with ours. While there are several characters involved in the main part of the story, I feel like thus far Marlee and Elyse have not had very large roles. I am hoping to see them included more in the next book since we know very little about them personally at this point.
Dane, Gabby, Kai, and Stevie have all accepted their role in a destiny that seems fantastical. The further on their journey they go, more is revealed about their abilities and their destiny. Now they need to complete the activation of the final Arcanists, Marlee and Elyse. As they are preparing to become the saviors they are meant to be, Dane discovers information that may alter their intentions. Are they really destined to save the worlds?
The Hallowed is darker than the first book. And there is an unexpected catalyst at the end that threatens to change the way things ultimately play out for the heroines, their supporters, and the world.
The Hallowed, by Jaci Miller, is the second book in the Scrying trilogy. This fantasy novel picks up following the initial book in the trilogy, The Scrying. The author did a commendable job in continuing this story without losing pace and/or the intensity that was written in the first book of the trilogy. Not many authors can successfully do that, so this author shows great control and thoroughness in their writing. The Hallowed continued to hold my interest and was full of supernatural aspects that were alluring, intriguing and amazingly done. I cannot wait to see where these characters come to in the third book of the trilogy.
The Hallowed (The Scrying trilogy book 2)
Written by Jaci Miller
4 out of 5 stars
The Hallowed is the second book in Jaci Miller’s Scrying Trilogy, these books are meant to be read in order and so far have flowed very well as The Hallowed picked up where the first book left off.
While I enjoyed the Scrying a lot, I liked this book even better, I felt that the pace was a bit quicker since we had a good foundation after reading the first book. I really enjoy how strong these characters are and the development throughout and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens in the conclusion of the trilogy.
This books picks up right where the first left off and therefore shouldn’t be read as a standalone but in order presented within the series. This second book in the series manages to bring more intrigue and intensity than its predecessor. Another fantastic book from the author, I found myself enjoying it even more than the first (which I wasn’t anticipating). Just a fantastic read!
5 Stars
The Hallowed is the second book in The Scrying Trilogy by Jaci Miller. As this continues the story from book one, I really recommend reading The Scrying before starting this one, so you have all the information you need to enjoy this book to the fullest. This is a paranormal story with supernatural elements, action, mystery, drama, magic, prophecy, destiny, ancient evil, bonds, and romance.
The story picks up pretty much where book one left off. Dane and Rafe have undergone a binding that has given them a much deeper connection. Their destiny is now tied together. I loved them in the first book, but because of everything that happened in the first book and the development and growth these two have been through, I am absolutely invested in them now, and the outcome of their story.
The secondary characters certainly added a little extra something to the story and I enjoyed the ones we met in the first book, as well as getting to meet new ones. The story has intrigue, suspense, spice, dramatic events, surprising developments, humour, witty dialogue… and so much more… to make this a truly captivating read. This is definitely my favourite of the two so far.
As I discovered with the first book, Ms. Miller writes a riveting story, but it’s her world building which really made the most impression on me- it’s really incredible. She easily transported me into the story, where I experienced everything so vividly, following right alongside the characters as the story played out. Her words, and attention to detail brought everything to life, making the ‘world’ and everything that happened, seem so realistic and believable.
Brilliant! I really can’t wait to dive into book three!
Thank You, Ms. Miller!

I can’t believe the ending if this book. It’s a cliffhanger. The author had me going. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. The magic revealed the past unknown. Ancient beings telling of a future in a world not yet known. You feel their joy and their pain. You are with them every step of the way. The details were well thought out and very nicely executed. To have such a vivid imagination is a wonderful gift. To be able to create art with words is amazing. Glad there is another book because I would be upset if this was it. I’m invested now.
The Hallowed is book two in The Scrying Trilogy from Jaci Miller. The first book in the series was jam packed with intrigue, sci-fi, and romance. This one did not disappoint on any of those levels once again. I was very excited that this book picked up speed just a little bit and captured me from beginning to end with zero lulls. I would recommend that you read the books in order to fully appreciate the progression of the story.
This book picks right up where we were left at in The Scrying. Dane is joined by equally strong women and friends as they come together to fight what evils are awaiting to threaten the realms. There is more supernatural goodies to enjoy, along with some more intriguing romance and of course Rafe. I have really come to love his character just as much as I love Dane’s.
I am anxiously anticipating the finale of this series and can’t wait to see how things will culminate for these characters. I imagine it will be just as amazing as this one, if not better!
