The world is full of magical things…
But these Neo-Celts mean business, with a boldly charismatic leader who vows to return the world to the iron-fisted rule of the ancient gods. That plan infuriates the fiercest member of the Arcana Council, Death, whose deep Irish roots hide more secrets than Sara ever realized, and draws the focus of the dark-eyed, seductive Magician, deftly weaving his ever more twisted schemes.
At the Council’s behest, Sara plunges headlong into Irish folklore, fantasy, and the very real, very frightening truth of the spaces between worlds, where the darkest memories go to hide… Memories that could upend everything Sara’s finally claimed as her own.
Travelers beware! The fairies will all come out to play when you chase The Hallowed Knight.

ná bíodh eagla ort an dorchadas. Sara Wilde goes to Ireland….
…and I cannot be more pleased. But let us start at the beginning.
The Las Vegas Joyful Spirit Psychic Festival is in town drawing Sara Wilde’s attention as the Justice of the Arcana Council. At first Sara does not seem interesting in this “fairy business” but decides to investigate as some other links to the Arcana Council are reveled. Once again someone is trying to reach the Old Gods and threaten to break havoc to our wold, this time around summoning the Tuatha Dé Danann, the Ancient Gods of the Celtic Pantheon.
I must confess Jenn Stark got me at “Celtlandia”… but holding a degree in Celtic Heritage myself, I was thrilled to see, not only where the story goes but how it will develop… it went to Ireland and to my most profoundly delight… it went to… Ireland… Jenn Stark has perfectly captured the essence of the country and its culture. As always, the author has managed to interweave a rich kilt, pun intended, of human nature critique, pop culture, and fantasy elements.
We get an insight in some of the key characters of the Series: Armaeus (The Magician), Simon (The Fool) and specially Blue’s (Death) past. We also witness the development of Sara’s skills and her relationships with Armaeus, Brody and Nikki. It has heartbreaking moments…. uplifting ones and funny ones (Nikki as Galadriel, you can beat that).
It is a great book, no…it is an amazing book, you will not want it to end and then… you WILL not want it to end and will keep asking for more…. fortunately, there are still a bunch of cards on the deck.
“The Hallowed Kind is the third installment in the “Wilde Justice” Series after “The Red King” and “The Lost Queen”, a directly follow up of the Immortal Vegas Series featuring Sara Wild as a magical-artifacts hunter, and undoubtedly the best of all Sara Wilde up-to-date… until the next installment…. Jenn Stark keeps on delivering the best urban fantasy out there… This verse deserves its own TV-Show, seriously!!!!!
What a great story! The mystery was solid, and I am not a crier, but I totally lost it in the best of ways in this story! I know you hear this all the time, but I seriously can’t wait for the next book in this series. I fell in love with the first series and worried this one wouldn’t match it. This book hit it right out of the park! I recieved a copy of the book for an honest review.
Wait…..what! (throws e-reader across the room in a flurry of emotion)That’s how it ended! How can I possibly wait for the next installment of this series!
This book was just amazing. Sara and the rest of the gang are in a fight for their survival with Sara at the helm and all the other players doing what they need to do in order to survive, sometimes by manipulating the course of events, others stepping back and seeing what happens. The Hallowed Knight takes you on a roller-coaster of emotion and action and you will definitely be left guessing about what is going to happen in the next one! It’s great that it takes place outside of Las Vegas and into the magic of Ireland with its Folklore and Tall Tales.
Another great read from Ms. Stark…..I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I absolutely love this series, the character of Sara Wilde, and the writing of Jenn Stark. This book, as well as the others, has not ceased to garner my attention and provide loads of entertainment. Each book keeps you on the edge of your seat as you see Sara Wilde evolve as a person and with magic. The Hallowed Knight now takes Sara on a journey with the fairies and Celtic lore which is a favorite genre for me personally. This book is packed fun of action and suspense. I pray its not the end of Sara Wilde because I think she has a ton of evolvement and events ahead of her. For me Sara Wilde ranks right up there with Jamie and Calire from Outlander. So if you enjoy a series that takes you on a great ride through the life with a little magic mixed in, then this book is for you.
Sara’s back, and the cards will fall as they may… and so much of what I love about this story falls under “spoiler alert”. Suffice to say, loved ones are threatened, the world may be about to end, and the Magician reaches his limits. It will keep you gripped until the very last page – and have you longing for more.
Buy it – you will love it!
Jenn Stark has become a wordsmith to be reckoned with. Pay attention!
I have loved Sara Wilde and her crew of friends and Arcane Council members from the day I opened the first Immortal Vegas book. She was this complete person, snark in abundance, wisdom hiding, just waiting to come out, insecurities most feel at some point in their lives and love galore to give to those who are worthy as well as those who are not. And I loved her.
I had read the entire Immortal Vegas series, mourning over the perceived loss of Sara and cohorts. I was so sure the series was at an end and I grieved. Then Jenn decided to continue the series with Wilde Justice. Yay!
More Sara, more Armaeus (The Magician) , more everyone! But, I wasn’t really sure how much further she could take these characters and keep it as interesting as they originally were.
Well, allow me to say, Holy Crow! Never again will I doubt her ability to create a literary world for the ages. I have to say that Jenn Stark is probably the best UF author out there, and not enough people are aware of that fact. Her ability to draw you in and capture you as surely as if you were wrapped in chains, right now, is virtually unsurpassed. And yet, far too few seem to be aware of this. Wake Up People! Smell the prose!
In book 3 of Wilde Justice, we are shown Sara Wilde in her newest role as Justice of the Council, which puts her in a position to correct wrongs throughout the world. Wrongs being done to or by the Connected. This basically sets her above the Council in that she can police them as well. While she does not administer judgment, she does bring these people to Judgement (another Connected granted the power of distributing judgment in accordance with her position but only once Sara has brought them to her). So, still, Sara, at the top.
Now, in my beloved Ireland, an extremely powerful, and extremely arrogant zealot has decided it’s time the Connected take over the world, unaware (or is he?) of the attention he has drawn to the issue. Attention he probably wouldn’t want. In comes Sara to monitor, assess, and decide whether this person needs stopping or not.
Our Sara is not one to condemn anyone without some proof that they are indeed guilty. So Jenn Stark goes ahead and writes the novel of her career around this idea. Around this soul-deep quandary. She takes us down the path that Sara needs to follow to come to complete terms with what is happening around the world to those she considers her charges; the Connected. With words strung together in such a way that we are riveted until completion, Jenn Stark has given us a book that not only entertains, but teaches; that reaches out to our humanity and asks us, “Just because we can, does that mean we should?”
And as if this all isn’t enough, we reach the end of the book and…gods dammit! That’s it. That’s all I have to say on that.
I believe within the deepest confines of my mind and heart that Jenn Stark needs to take her place at the top of the UF authors. This quiet, unassuming author has written 16 books under this pen name. 10 Immortal Vegas, 3 Demon Enforcers, and now, 3 Wilde Justice. Yet still has not won the recognition she so richly deserves. Well, as far as I’m concerned, anyone who reads her series, beginning to end, will understand as I do that this woman has such a gift with words that every book to come out is one worth waiting for, not to mention one worth purchasing and reading.
This chapter in Sara Wilde’s life was so splendidly done, Jenn Stark! So wonderfully, exceptionally done indeed! In case you haven’t noticed, I am such a huge fan. Thank you for continuing our sojourn into the life of Sara Wilde et al.
This book was received as an ARC. This review is given in my own words and of my own volition. That being said, on May 29, 2019, I will also be a proud, paying owner of this book as well.
Up to now the series has been exciting with action and magic all building up to a finale. The finale is here. . . or is it. Now that the Green Knight has revealed himself and the Hallowed Knight has assisted him in pushing his agenda, there is a splitting of sides in the natural and the council. The Magician and Justice, deep sigh, what is building between them and just how much can it be. There are many answers in this third book of the series yet it brings to mind a crap load more. This author keeps the action popping barely allowing the restraint to not throw your kindles. But there are explosive times in this book and it’s had not to get caught up in the action and magic. It’s a well written tale which will keep you spinning and reeling from the revelations, discussions and the solutions. It’s an emotional read since there are some points when things go horribly side ways, but not to worry before you can get buried in that emotion things will change. Buckle up and prepare yourself for the ride.
