This is the second book in this series and it gets better in this book. I enjoy the characters Dane and Rafe. They are strong characters who took me on a journey of war, secrets, and threats that they didn’t realize existed. I had a hard time putting this book down because the action just kept coming. They made me feel as if I was right there in the middle of the action with them. Two worlds fused together just maybe more then they realize. I highly recommend this book.
The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2)
By: Jaci Miller
5 out of 5 stars
The story The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2) by Jaci Miller is a mythology/fantasy book. It is the next thrilling part of a trilogy that has action, adventure, and danger. Just as the first book did it hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It had me wondering what was going to happen next. This story continues with the characters of Dane, Rafe, and those who are recognized as the other Arcanists who are an important part of a prophecy that has lives hanging in the balance. While Dane and Rafe are high up there on my list of favorite characters, I also really enjoyed reading about the others, of what they must learn, and how they all interact with each other. I absolutely love how this story is so detailed on both the realms that the characters visit and also the background information that is given about each descendant. I felt that I was either walking along with the characters, seeing what they are, or listening in while stories are told. Fantasy books with magic are a favorite of mine. The Arcanists must learn about their abilities and magic if they are to be successful. There is an atmosphere of darkness and danger that is ever present. There is evil that is spreading. Read to find out what happens next in this exciting and sometimes nail-biting story. This is a book that I got lost in and now that I have finished I can’t wait to read the next one.
The Hallowed (The Scrying Trilogy Book 2)
By Jaci Miller
Rated 5 stars!
I love this story! Very Entertaining! We are moving along very quickly in this book! There is all kinds of action, drama with a little dark magic filtered in. I loved going to each of the world/realms to see how each one lived. This has a whole boatload of supernatural beings in it. All of my favorites and some new ones. Getting everyone to work together is the key to success. There will be a large fight in their future against the darkness so they need to be prepared.
I would recommend reading Book 1 in this series to make this one more enjoyable. I don’t believe it necessary though. Most of these characters we met in The Scrying. So now we are reconnecting or meeting their altered states. I love the idea of some of these!
This is my second book my Jaci ……. This one rises above The Scrying. The story
Moves nicely and kept my interest. The characters grow so much in this story. I am pleased that they are all happy their own and in awe of each other’s incoming powers.
The ending?? Wow! I can not WAIT for book 3! Ms Miller did such an amazing job with this book!! I am impressed! this one blew me out of the water! I am glad I read it! This is supernatural activity at its best!
THE HALLOWED is book 2 in the The Scrying Trilogy. It picks up where book 1 left off so it’s very important to read in order and there is still 1 more book to come 🙂
Rafe and Dane have experienced a binding and now share an emotional connection as well as a physical bond and their destiny. One of my favorite lines is “They have experienced a binding… It’s rare and boring. Can we move on?” In addition to all the goodness this story holds, it also has a sense of humor about it.
There are lots of characters that we’ve met before and some new ones that continue to carry the story forward. The story has incredible worlds, legends, visions and magic. It also has witches and fae and mermaids and more. As with the first book THE SCRYING, this story is very lyrical in its telling. It is filled with metaphor and myths. War can be cruel and a war of this type can be even crueler still.
I am looking forward to reading the third and final installment in this trilogy. I think I know how it’s all going to end, but one can never be sure.
a great read about discovery. the series picks up from the ending of the last book. Dane continues to search for the other Arcanists to help stop an ancient evil from resurfacing. while searching with the help of Rafe, she discovers them in unlikely places and must help them master their powers. will they be able to fulfil their destiny together?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Dane being a supportive friend while standing up for herself or Stevie inquisitive nature but still being brave.
a great example of building upon a series with different types of magic and mystical creatures. a great example of shifting perspective with the focus on Stevie isntead of the main character of Dane.
I adored the visual detail throughout the novel such as the black wings which were stunningly detailed and different from the usual white colour. i adored the description of Kaizi with the strangeness of fire and lava but it still being wonderful and full of striking colours and vivid detail that grabs you in a sense of awe. the sense of heritage and history of Kaizi was beautifully written. I also loved the use of nature and elements throughout which was a brillaint addition. overall,. a great read and I would give it five stars
The Hallowed by Jaci Miller is the second book in her The Scrying Trilogy. A great continuation of this story they do need to be read in order ideally so you get a full understanding of what is happening.
Dane has found herself in the middle of a world, and a war, that she could have never imagined existed. And now it is up to her to to find a way to release the magic to merge two realms together. If she fails then both worlds are at great risk of being destroyed.
With Rafe by her side to help, they set about doing everything they can to save their worlds. However not all secrets have been discovered, and one so dark could end up being the thing that knocks them entirely off course.
I really enjoyed reading about Dane and Rafe in the first book and this was completely reinforced. Their characters just work so well together and really add to the overall story. This book showed great development from book one, the story was continued well and had the same pace and interest that the first book had. I am well and truly looking forward to book three!!
