Although the Gypsies were seen as thieves and liars in earlier centuries, they now play the leading role in this story (series of stories).
I find the character of Desmond very intense. Even though he has renounced women, when he meets Ana (Anastasia), the wall around his heart is broken. I find the character of Ana sweet and gentle but certainly also strong. The way she takes her life in her own hands when she is forced to marry her nasty cousin is, I think, well described. The love story has been put down strongly. Other aspects in this book fit in well with this. The gypsy family who always supports each other and the piece of mystery that always hangs around the gypsies. An exciting end that I did not expect in the story but was very welcome to me

If you’ve followed the series, then you have some background in the characters up to this point. If you haven’t and are just now coming into the storyline and Elise Marion’s world, then you’re in for a treat. No need to fear, each book can be read as a standalone, but truly, why would you if it means missing all the deliciousness up to this point. Have you read the teaser yet or did you jump straight into the reviews? Read the teaser, I’ll wait. Okay, did you picture Desmond with his dark hair, his gypsy coloring, and now brother-in-law to the King? What did you get from the description of Anastasia? A lady born and raised, trying to flee a situation her conscience nor stomach can abide. The telling flows so smoothly, you’ll see the actual words come to life in your mind. The chemistry between these two when they meet causes a fizzle in the air. The side characters are just as engaging, each with personalities that are so relatable you’ll find it easy to love them or love to hate them. I’ve been in love with this series since I read book one, “The Rogue Prince” and have been taken over the top with this one. They just keep getting better and better. I was thrilled to receive this ARC and proudly offer my voluntary review.
Desmond and Anastasia meet and attracted with each other, but as he was betrayed by his wife on his first marriage, he is afraid of falling in love again. He then asks to be her protector and their story of love begins. Nice story

Just one word Incredible!!!
What Anastasia was forced to do would have been so hard to do. Desmond a man never expecting what would happen with his sister’s marriage. Then they meet an agreement is made will it lead to pain or redemption? The characters were extraordinary, the written was remarkable, with a plot that was first-rate. This is a book you fine is a hard one to put down I have high praise for this brilliant work. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Can a person love again once their love is destroyed?
by sewsummore
Desmond was the son of a gypsy and the brother-in-law of a King, he was a man who had his love destroyed by his wife’s adultery. He swore never to trust a woman again, instead he used them as they used him. Then he met Ana, she was a lowly maid in a house of ill repute. She was an innocent and he had to have her! Ana despite her misgivings gave into him and became his mistress. She fell in loved with her gypsy love knowing full well he would never love her. But Ana was not really a servant girl, she was a Lady running from marriage to her cousin, a man she hated. When her story was told, Desmond lashed out at her and sent her away for her lies, but that was not the end of their story. This book was filled with revenge, anger and desire, when does love destroy people while it raises some up. Love desires honesty, justice and compassion, something Desmond had very little of in his life. Will he finally allow his distrust to continue destroy his future or will he accept Ana’s love? Read the book to find out !

I found The Gypsy Lord to be a fantastic smoking hot book with a superb storyline that really grabs you and keeps you so engrossed throughout the entire book! I was so wrapped up in these characters that I wasn’t able to do anything till I finished it! I was honestly up most of the night just to see what was going to happen! I loved the chemistry and heat level with Desmond and Ana and how both were such strong interesting characters…I was truly in love with them both! Actually all the characters involved in this story had me intrigued! I absolutely recommend this book to anyone and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this very creative author Elise Marion!
This is the story of ill-fated lovers. lover. Desmond Amador is a renowned horseman, which many attribute to his gypsy blood. He loved his wife with his entire being, and then found out that she was not inclined to remain faithful. As expected, Desmond’s marriage dissolves, and his wife runs off with yet another lover. Desmond has waited three years to finally be able to petition for a divorce. He now considers all women as liars only good for satisfying a man’s needs.
Then we meet Lady Anastasia. She only wanted to marry for love, and, while her father lived, this decision was allowed. But after her father’s death, Anastasia finds herself doomed to marry her lecherous and cruel second cousin, Edmund. Her only way to escape that fate is to fake her death and run far away taking another identity. After being robbed (pretending to be a boy), she finds herself employed as a maid in a brothel. Enter Desmond who claims “Ana” as his desired conquest. She realizes that having him as her protector will be the best route she can take..
What will become of this couple? Can they find love, or will Desmond’s bitterness towards women and love prove Insurmountable? Will Ana’s true background be uncovered? Who will win or lose? Find out for yourself as the web of deceit unravels.

Can I please give more than 5 stars for this book????? I absolutely LOVED Desmond and Anastasia’s story and I must say I hated finishing it because I wanted it to go on and on! lol Definitely an excellent end to the series and now I want to start reading it all over again:) I enjoyed seeing all the characters from the previous books as well.
Desmond is such a tortured soul and my heart went out to him big time. Anastasia is such a wonderful and loving character and so perfect for Desmond, if only he would learn to trust and love again. The story is filled with heated passion, suspense, drama, angst, and a family that stands by each other. I loved this whole series and highly recommend each book!!

When Desmond Amador’s sister Esmerelda married Damien, the king of Cardenas, the son of a Gypsy dancer and a sailor became a titled lord with more wealth, land, and power than he could have ever hoped to possess.

This is the fifth book in the series and has been updated & re released.
I’ve loved this series set in the fictional countries of Cardenas and Barony where they have their own laws & way of life. I loved Desmond who is dark & broody as he had to grow up quickly when his father was murdered, he also married against the wishes of his family & lived to rue the day so he’s kept his heart locked away until Ana / Anastasia gradually breaks down the barriers until she reveals who she is. Ana whilst being a darling daughter was loved by everyone on the estate & often helped especially weaving, she was devastated when her father was gored by a boar & on her wedding day faked her death so as to escape the clutches of her evil cousin. She was strong, feisty & totally smitten by Desmond. This was another well written book that once again drew me in from the start & the lovely epilogue left me with a tear in my eye. The pace was very good & a couple of revelations had me gasping. I now look forward to reading the next generations stories
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
