This is a book about a girl who made the wrong choice. She fell in love with a guy who is already taken. If you must choose between dignity and passion, choose wisely. You might pity or judge her, she just did not afraid to risk. “She believed that she could change a savage man. She liked the risk, and she thought that if he fell in love with her if she pressed the right button, that guy would … would eat from her hand. That was why she was kind toward him. She liked a challenge.”

Painful Lessons
You wonder just how many times an educated young woman—a psychology student, at that, can make the same mistake again and again. Renata, guilty as charged, falls in love with the proverbial “bad boys”. Davor fits the bill. Her attraction to him is baffling because he’s uneducated, vulgar, isn’t good looking, and has a paunch. Even more baffling, Renata knows this, but can’t stop lowering her standards and ruining her reputation. She’s like a cat in heat around him.
While nothing new to talk about, the author shines a harsh light on her flawed, lifelike characters within the scope of a short story, long on impact. If this story awakens someone in a similar situation to realize their own self-worth, the author has done more than pen a work of fiction.
I highly recommend this story for its psychological edginess. As in life, the painful lessons we learn might make us wiser, but not happier.

Reading this book was like standing on the brink of a precipice, facing two choices: to spread the wings and to fly high into the cloudless blu sky or to jump and dive into a mesmerizing emerald lake.
The Plot: This is a story about lady Renata, who manages to choose inappropriate ‘kings of her heart’ in a remarkable manner. Recognizing further disastrous consequences of the wrong choices, she can’t resist her temptation to keep on moving in the direction that will bring her bitter-sweet moments and a curse. Will Renata be able to be back on track? How does she manage to get through suffering to renown? All these answers you can get, while reading this brilliant story.
The Writing Style: I enjoyed the quick-paced and provocative writing style of this writer. Easy and dynamic, this story is full of perfect description of inner tortures, sufferings, and sad musings. The story is full of intrigues and flawless twists. You’ll probably need less than an hour to finish reading this story, getting an amazing bookish after-taste full of reflections about everlasting challenges that women all over the world have been facing during centuries and still do. Kristina Gallo can proudly be called a true master of a perfect short story.

My Favorite Quote: ‘Love your enemies. You might need them once’
Would I read other books by this author: Sure!
My humble rating is: 5/5
“The guy from another league” is a story of bad choices. Everyone makes mistakes. Even good, decent, and clever people.
Renata is unlucky in love. She is young, pretty, and intelligent, but the men she meets don’t seem to treat her as she deserves. I think that because everyone expected her to meet her Mr Right really easily, she has made the wrong choice in love. Questions like “haven’t you gotten married yet” maybe are asked more seldom than twenty years ago, but there are still those who think that it’s appropriate to ask a young woman such things. These questions create pressure that makes girls think that they must find a husband as quickly as possible.
Renata’s story reminded me of the relationship I had witnessed when I was a teenager. The married son of my aunt had a lover, an intelligent, gentle, and educated girl, just like Renata. I remember that even at that age I felt confused and couldn’t understand why such a young woman agreed to such a relationship. The guy wasn’t overly attractive or successful, and he was involved in some shadowy deals.
The story is raw and direct. It has a feeling of “a documentary” over it. I’d say that there are a few valuable lessons that might be learnt from “The guy from another league”. Maybe some girl, who has gotten confused about her relationship with Mr Bad, would read it and see her situation from another perspective.
What are we all capable of doing for love, how many mistakes do we need to repeat to learn something?
Renata is one such girl who has been blinded by love and keeps repeating her mistakes. Davor is a selfish guy who turns those mistakes into his own victories.
I enjoyed reading this short story and I recommend it
