I am at a loss for words. Elicia is a stellar storyteller and has created an outstanding series! I will not spoil anything for you, the soon-to-be reader, but I can tell you this. I laughed, I cried and at the end of it all, jaw-dropped speechless. I am amazed at her ability to draw me into a world so deep that once I have finished the story, I am left with a book-hangover. Bravo! Haven’t read this series? Start with book 1, you will not be disappointed!
Every time I read the next book in the Soul Summoner series I am shocked about the twists and turns in this series! If you haven’t read the series before it is essential that it is read in order from the beginning. It’s difficult to write a review without giving away spoilers and the entire story is one big surprise! I can say that everyone that was around in The Soul Destroyer makes an appearance. Warren has many missions but his priority will always continue to be loving and protecting his daughter Iliana. He will encounter many of his friends, Sloan, Nathan, Adrianne, Az, and the rest of the Claymore gang. Warren will also need to work with Fury to get something that they both want. As with The Soul Destroyer, The Guardian is told in first person POV from Warren’s perspective. Lastly let me say that the ending is going to rock your world! Enjoy!
Just WOW!
This is the best book in this series yet! Addictive, exciting, intriguing, and gobsmacking entertaining!
This entire series is remarkable! This author’s imagination is infinite and mind boggling. Right from the start, this series sucks you entirely in, spins you around, and spits you out ready to do it again! You become a very real part of Sloan and Nathan’s lives, feeling all of the anxiety and fear, then the love that sneaks in there.
I want Warren to be the bad guy because Nathan and Sloan have a history and have had a “thing” for quite some time. Nathan is just loveable, he is also quirky and genuine and who doesn’t love a guy that is always eating Skittles or has them in his pockets? Right? Warren is a whole different kind of man. He can see dead people! This should automatically pair him as a total match for Sloan, but then, Nathan. The Guardian puts him in an entirely different situation and it gets real deep real fast.
You just can’t read these books so fast as to do it in one session, not and absorb all that is going on. You need to take each one and savor all that is these characters and their abilities, relationships, and enemies. They are gorgeous in their length and detail, but you will probably suffer from a book hang-over when done reading them regardless of how you pace yourself. There is a lot to learn in these books, this one especially. The supernatural is a common genre, but The Guardian is fabulously intricate. I weaves you around between earth, heaven and hell keeping you on pins and needles waiting for the next revelation. You want to read this as fast as you can and you can if you want, but you will miss some of the most exciting details twisted up in this fascinating story.
These characters come alive and make their place in this world. I love Reuel and his language interpretation, Ionis is a dork, but I absolutely love Sloan, Nathan, Warren and now Fury. I wanted to hate her, and I did for all of the books preceding this one. She is a remarkable woman and a bad ass!
An exceptional book, my only regret is that I wasn’t ready for this story to be over yet and now I have to wait until the next one. I loved it!
Warren. Fury. Nulterra. If you don’t know who/what these are, you have a lot of catching up to do!
As many have already said… just when you think Elicia Hyder’s writing can’t possibly get any better, it does… over and over and over again!
I am constantly amazed at the imagination that thrives inside this author’s head; from where she gets her ideas, I will never know. All I can do is thank the Father that she does, that she is so willing to share them with us, and that she is such a genius with her craft.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Just when I thought Elicia’s writing couldn’t get any better, she proves me wrong.
What a ride, I laughed, on more than one occasion, “being hard skulled” yes you can still count on Reuel for a little unexpected humour. I also cried and almost ugly cried at one point, okay I was a little sleep deprived so cut me some slack. The serious matters are balanced, beautifully with some light hearted banter, and some situational comedic moments, but also some very touching scenes, hence the tears.
The Guardian is a well-crafted and well thought out story. All the little pieces to this story puzzle slot together logically, even the plot twists. All the characters you’ve grown to love, or tolerate or in some cases miss, but your aim’s improving so next time …. Are here which just adds to the enjoyment.
A number of questions get answered here, including some you didn’t know you had and of course some of those answers lead to more questions, but seriously you knew that was on the cards.
This is a fast paced book, there is a lot going on and a lot important details packed into, so make sure you’re hydrated, have your kids or other responsibilities allocated to another “responsible” person for the duration, as no interruptions will be tolerated and strap yourself in for a ride.
*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*
This one was an okay read. I loved the moments he had with Iliana but I’ve really struggled to accept that it’s Sloan and Nathan and Warren and … someone else. If I could accept that he wasn’t in love with Sloan anymore, I could totally take on all the stuff he thinks about and does with other people. But I can’t. It’s so hard. I mean he spends decades in Eden, so it’s like… really easy for him to move on. But it’s still so difficult, mainly because when it comes to him looking at other women, now all I can think about are what he was really thinking when WITH Sloan, or what he was going through when under the kismet connection with her.
I was expecting Nulterra’s journey to start at the beginning of the book or at least 20% in but it started well after the 50% mark so that’s why it felt a little slow. And it probably wouldn’t have felt like that if I’d accepted early in the game that he was with someone else, cause then all the sexy things would be sexy and all the heartfelt things would be heartfelt. The fact that it’s with someone from his past is a whole other drama but that can be saved for later. Long story short, it’s looking like he’s decided on his future wife, and it’s happening whether I’m ready for it or not. Now on to the next installment!
First off I have to say OMG WOW! It took me a little longer to read this than normal because I have had problems with my eyes, but seriously this book is soooooooooooo good! You need to read the entire series in order in my opinion to get the full effect of the totally amazing world that Elicia Hyder has created here. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. Love all the characters and the incredible storylines they exist in for our enjoyment. I laughed, I cried and I was surprised on more than one occasion. Highly addictive series. Must read for sure!
