He broke her heart on national television, but can they team up to win a million dollars?
Falling in love with Jace Westfall on The Groom was never part of Millie Kincaid’s plans. However, she’s learned a valuable lesson about trusting handsome men—don’t! She returns to her teaching job to forget the devastating rejection. But her school needs money, so when Millie receives an offer to be on … be on another reality TV show, she can’t refuse.
Hurting the sweet and shy Millie was the last thing Jace wanted to do, but he had his reasons. Too bad going from being the fans’ beloved hero to the world’s worst villain cost him endorsements. Now, he’s on the verge of losing everything. To save his floundering business and family who rely on him for support, Jace agrees to do another reality show.
Forced together, Millie and Jace race from country to country. Their only goal—to win. As cameras capture their every move, one thing becomes clear: Money isn’t the only thing at stake. Now, they must overcome their past to win not only the prize but maybe each other’s heart, too. Will they cross the finish line as a couple, or will they end the race alone?

A great sweet romance read with a reality show twist
Millie, a special needs teacher, and Jace, CEO of a financial planning firm, have a rocky past with reality TV as the base. As the story progresses a twist throws them together again, a new working relationship is formed, and even acknowledging fears is not enough to get another chance for happiness. Melissa McClone’s The Groom is a great sweet romance read with a reality show twist.
I loved reading the Groom by Melissa McClone because it was such a great book. Millie and Jace were previously on a reality show together where it didn’t end well for either. A year later, Millie is on another reality show where it pairs her and Jace again and it was a learning experience for them both. Millie really became so confident in this reality show. She knew what she wanted and her drive to win the money is what kept her going forward. Jace had his own reasons for the money. I loved Millie and Jace together. I also liked the other contestants in this book. This was a very sweet book and I highly recommend reading it.

This is a well written clean romance with realistic characters and an entertaining story line. I enjoyed watching Millie and Jace come together with the chemistry flowing between them. It’s a sweet story, moves fluidly and is a perfect romantic read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This was an entertaining read. It was basically The Bachelor meets The Amazing Race. The plot line felt pretty original, especially with that twist at the beginning of the competition.
I really liked Millie and I felt bad that she got her heart broken on national tv. Her father was a real piece of work! What a hypocrite! I loved how Millie saw all the other contestants as real people and not just competition.
I was honestly unsure about Jace with how he kept going back and forth over Millie. It was almost like he was trying to talk himself out of his feelings for her. Because he needed to help his family? This is where I had an issue. If his sisters were old enough to work, they didn’t have to work for his company and thereby could have lightened the load from Jace’s shoulders. The book never goes into what the real deal is with his family and company other than the business desperately needing money.
I am glad that Millie got her HEA!

This book has so much adventure, all the things they do and places they see, it’s awesome. I loved how they, especially Jace, changed so much of their outlook of life and their feelings. Millie is such a caring and loving person. The descriptions of everything made me able to see it in my mind. I enjoyed reading this book very much.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book. Some good laughs, great character development by the author as the character experience their own personal growth, understanding why things are not always as they appear, attraction, competitiveness and more. Engaging primary and secondary characters (hope to see a few in their own story).
After being sent home in the final episode of the realty t.v. show The Groom, Millie is approached by the network to compete in another realty that involves a competition using both brains and brawn. Unknown to her she is paired with none other than The Groom, Jace who rejected her on national t.v. All the other competitors are also paired with those they are not on the best of terms with. Lots of fireworks and personal growth.
A great read that transports you around the world.

Jace had a lot to learn. And the only way he learns is the hard way. Millie is a strong, powerful character with just enough insecurity to be real. They made a great team until they didn’t. Delightful overall.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
The person who Millie really wants to forget is unexpectedly the person she needs to fulfill her dream. Jace was thinking he did the right thing by sending Millie away during a reality show, but it backfired. Now they need each other to travel the world and winning a lot of money. But after what happened can they still work together or will their past or their attraction stand in the way?
And at the end what kind of winning in more important?
Great story that will bring you around the world. The trust and confidence building by the characters is fun to read about. And of course a satisfying HEA.

This book made me smile as I read it. It was fun to see how the author spun a story around two reality television shows. I also liked how you really came to know the two main characters, their strengths, their flaws, and their fears after they met again after The Groom show was done and Jace had chosen another girl.
The Cash Around the Globe television show reunited the Jace and Millie to try to win the million dollars. There were some unique stops and clues to follow to win the money. This is the first book in A Keeper series and it’s a keeper in my bookcase! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Melissa McClone has come up with another great series and this first book is a look at what the series will be like.
She never fails to deliver awesome stories that get right at the heart of her readers.
These characters are so engaging and real.
The plot is wonderful and easy to follow.
I could keep reading for a long time.
I eagerly await the next book.
If you’ve ever watched The Bachelor or The Amazing Race, you will thoroughly enjoy this book. There is humor, conflict, and drama in this one. You will love it.

Millie was heartbroken when ‘The Groom’ ended and Jace picked Desiree, In spite of all the offers she received after that debacle she wasn’t tempted take any. Until this one, ‘Cash Around the Globe offered something she really wanted, thirty days without her phone, without people asking how she was doing all while traveling the globe. Any money she wins she would donate to her school to help offset budget cuts affecting her students.
Millie was feeling confident and excited as the race begins, but of course the show has a major twist.
Angry but resigned, she accepts the fact that in order to continue, it would be Jace by her side.
I want to say here that I hate reality shows, but reading about it totally different! I loved the progression as these two work their way through the obstacles set by the show. I laughed and cried and screamed at my kindle.
I can’t wait to see what Melissa has in store for the next book in this series.
The Groom is a well-written romance packed with action and emotions. Millie is a truly likable character. Once I understood Dean and his actions, I found him likable as well. The plot was full of twists and turns. The dialogue flows naturally. Melissa McClone has an easy to follow style of writing that makes reading a joy, not an effort. I plan to read more of her books and more of A Keeper Series books.
I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this well-done romance.
There wasn’t just one reality show in the book, but two. First Jace and Millie are on a bachelor-like show and then a year later on an Amazing Race like show. Both times he puts himself and his family first and hurts her. Millie was hoping to find love with the first show and she was hoping to raise money for her school with the second. While both times he was thinking of how it would help his company. The bachelor-like show only showed the end, but the race show talked about each leg of their journey. I wouldn’t have wanted to participate in any of the challenges that involved heights and eating strange foods.
The perfect read for while you are in quarantine, a race around the world with Jace and Millie in a reality tv romance. Jace and Millie have a history on a previous reality show, so when Millie signed up for this show she did not expect to find her partner, the one and only Jace. As they are competing as a team they soon can not deny the chemistry that they share. They both show so much growth in their personal lives.
So, if you love reality tv and sweet heart warming romance this is the perfect book for you. I so enjoyed this story.
I’m not going to lie, I really didn’t know if I was going to like this book because I don’t really like reality tv shows but I figured I would still read it because it is from one of my favorite authors. I am so glad I read it!!!!! As with all Melissa McClone’s other books, I was hooked from the beginning. I would definitely recommend this book to others to read!!!!!!
As much as I hate reality tv, I love this book! The Groom was a fun behind the scenes tale of what it really could be like to film not one but two shows where the participants have feelings for each other, but it might not seem that way to viewers.
Millie really grew as a person throughout the book, which made me so happy as a reader. It can be hard for an author to show the progression of growth in a characters life, but Ms. McClone did a great job of turning Millie from a shy mouse to a powerful young woman who doesn’t allow fear to hold her back. Jace had his own transition to make, and he did, but I found myself less impressed with him. I think I’m turning into a harsher judge of character with the books I read!
Interesting characters, a unique and winning storyline and wonderful writing make The Groom a fun must read!
McClone uses emotion and deep thought to tear the heart right out of your chest and humor to restore it to it’s rightful place. The Groom gives a large dose of common sense and a handful of heartache all in one sitting. Millie and Jace are struggling with their foolish hearts, on top of wounded pride. Will risking happily ever after cost them their hearts or help them to heal their souls? Heartache takes the long route to happy and it’s anything but subtle.
Melissa McClone writes sweet romance with compelling characters and plots that keep you turning the pages. “The Groom: A Reality TV Romance” is sure to be a hit.
