Green eyed doll is the first book I read from Jerry Alexander and boy what a ride. It is a rollercoaster it is easy to read, it is a page turner, it has romance and suspense. It has a good plot and I didn’t know until the end who had done it. This is my kind of book, I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait for other books to read.
This is my first book By Jerrie Alexander I’ve read and I throughly enjoyed it. What a Romantic mystery suspenseful story, it literally kept me guessing in what could possibly happen next. A really great read your can really delve into while guessing who it could possibly be. I’m looking forward to reading more books from this author. Well done Jerrie what a 5 Star read.
This is the first book I’ve read of Jerrie’s and it won’t be my last, it kept me trying to figure out who the killer was right up until the end. I liked how Matt and Catherine were able to overcome there past and learn from their mistakes to find love. It has romance and suspense which I love! Can’t wait to read her next book!
Holy Moly this is an awesome book. I Loved Jerrie’s Lost and Found series and this looked like another great read.
Catherine survived a marriage made in hell. It was emotionally, verbally and physically abusive. She escaped but her ex found her and she ended up killing him in self defence. Now she’s drifting from town to town, moving on when someone eventually recognises her. Now in Texas, she’s down to her last 100 or so bucks and her car is not exactly working well. Then she gets pulled over by the Sheriff, the very handsome, well built Sheriff.
Matt, the Sheriff, has his own heartaches. He left Houston after his partner was killed in a drug bust gone wrong. He decides to give Catherine a break and even gives her a couple of tips on job vacancies. They start off as friends, Matt noticing that she distrusts his job and is showing signs of an abusive past. Little do they know a serial killer has set up home and Catherine is just his type!!!
There were so many twists and turns in this book. I had my mind set on 3 people as the possible killer, needless to say it wasn’t any of them!!! Matt is a strong guy and reads Catherine’s emotional cues, but still manages to blow it. Catherine is a strong, capable, newly independent woman. She is not great at asking for help and even slower at sharing her past, even though she knows this is the best course of action.
I loved the easy familiarity that finally flowed between them and that Matt got a new nickname of “John”. You’ll have to read it and find out where that comes from!!!! But it fit Matt so well.
I loved this book and I am really hoping that Ash (Matt’s friend) will get a book too.
Small little Texas town harbors one sick twisted killer. Whenever we got his POV a certain scene from the movie Mommy Dearest kept running through my head. Read it, you’ll understand
While the killer is taking victims, a stranger rolls into town. Catherine McCoy is running from her past. When she realizes she is running low on cash she decides to look for a job to save up some cash before moving on. On her first day into town she is pulled over by the Sheriff and this result in them forming a friendship. Catherine’s past haunts her and prevents her from any form of intimacy with the sexy Sheriff but she sees that his search for the killer is causing him a lot of stress and she wants to help him however she can. Not long after getting to town she starts getting gifts which makes the Sheriff think she is in the crosshairs of the killer.
Sheriff Matt Ballard is attracted to the green eyed beauty but can tell she is very skittish when it comes to men. He knows somewhere she has been abused but doesn’t push her for her story. The intimacy part of their relationship was slow to come as it should have been given her history. Matt’s got a sad history too and he lives his life now with only honesty. He’s not big on liars and with the secrets Catherine is hiding you can see it’s not going to be pretty when it all comes out.
I do have to say the weakest part of the book was the police procedure and tracking of the killer. Over all though it was a good mystery with quite the perverted killer and a very likable hero and heroine which made it all the more enjoyable..
Green-Eyed Doll is a romantic thriller that will keep you in suspense until the very end! Catherine McCoy is on the run – trying to escape her abusive past. Sheriff Matt Ballard left the big city after an operation goes bad, opting for a new life in a small town. They meet when he pulls her over when she first arrives in town. Can they get over their pasts and survive a creepy serial killer to get their HEA…must read to find out what happens! Good book!
