Rediscovering your true love at Christmas
The Greatest Gift is the first book in the Christmas Treats series and is just like a sweet Christmas treat. It is also sizzling hot with sexy passion and a good story-line and characters in this second chance romance story. The only thing I found a but strange was that I had the feeling there should be a previous book to this one about Carmin and Ramiro. But otherwise it was entertaining.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
A second chance to make your dreams come true, but making a sacrifice that you never imagined making. That’s where Ramiro finds himself. After his rock band breaks up, he finds himself trying a solo career in the pop industry…..against his wishes. His manager girlfriend is his big supporter, cheerleader and encourager. His mega rich father has never understood his career choice and snarks at him with every opportunity.
Enter this Christmas season……Carmen finds herself pregnant and is literally scared to death and doesn’t acknowledge that she’s pregnant….it takes a while to grow on her. Once she does, not only does it strengthen her relationship with Ramiro, but healing starts to begin between him and his bandmates and him and his father.
I gave this book 4 stars, because it honestly seemed like there were some parts missing. I would find myself going back and rereading to make sure that I didn’t miss something.
I enjoyed reading Carmen and Ramiro’s story and the people around them and their Christmas together. I want to read the other book that goes with this one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was Ok. Carmen’s secret wasn’t a secret for long, and she didn’t really keep it from Ramiro.
Not every h has to be gorgeous, and from the description in this book, Carmen was described physically in what seemed to me to be unattractive terms. Her other characteristics were great, and I liked her character, but the book made it sound like she was similar to a large man with boobs. I had to re-read some things to make sure I wasn’t misreading her description. Tall, big feet, wide hips, big hands. I guess what really bothered me was that Carmen’s physical description was never done in a flattering or positive manner. That is, with the exception of Ramiro’s father telling her she had wide hips for child bearing.
On the other hand, Ramiro’s description was always flattering. He had previous addiction issues, but he was physically attractive throughout. He also seemed to be kind of selfish and childish, although he was always professing his undying love for Carmen. It honestly made me wonder what Carmen wanted with him.
Ramiro’s father, Scott, came across as both condescending, rude, and pervy. Who spends their time staring at their son’s girlfriend’s breasts?
The couple in this book has never ending sex. That statement is only a slight exaggeration. They had sex so much it was easier to skim through some of the pages. I didn’t dislike this book, but it didn’t do much for me either. I would recommend you read this book and judge for yourself.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
