When a soggy bottom is the least of your worries…The producers of Witchflix TV favourite The Great Witchy Cake Off are searching for somewhere new to base the filming of their next series. Naturally, Alfhild Daemonne, a long time fan of all things cakey, invites them to Whittle Inn.But what seemed like a great opportunity for a little harmless Wonky Inn self-promotion backfires when, at dawn on … backfires when, at dawn on the first day of filming, one of the contestants is found toes-up outside the famous marquee.
Alf can’t believe her rotten luck.
But it’s not all bad news. The producers need a fresh contestant and Florence the ghost – Alf’s long-dead housekeeper – is in the right place at the right time.
Who knew the baking world could be so deadly? But never mind, solving this mystery should be a piece of cake.
Shouldn’t it?
Chaos, catastrophe, ghosts and giggles in this warm and wonky, clean and cozy witch series of mysteries.
The Great Witchy Cake Off is a standalone but complements the Wonky Inn series as a whole.
Best served with a huge Devonshire Cream Tea!

The Great Witchy Cake Off – a review by Rosemary Kenny
When will Alf(hild) Daemonne, proprietress and owner of the now-legendary Whittle (aka Wonky) Inn ever have a peaceful and relaxing time while guests enjoy an uneventful stay?
Never, if the events of this rip-roaring romp of novel #7, The Great Witchy Cake-Off by Queen of the Supernatural Murder-Mystery, Jeannie Wycherley, is anything to go by, as her excellent Wonky Inn series, that just keeps getting better and better, show.
As can be guessed from the title, this time the Inn is hosting a Witchy version of the popular TV series of a similar name – only, barely has the marquee been erected, when an all-too-human murder results in sabotage, malice and confusion for the many ghosts (who run the inn for Alf), plus the famous visitors and guests.
Get your fingers deep into the layer cake of intrigue and skulduggery so expertly cooked-up by Jeannie Wycherley, in The Great Witchy Cake Off today – it’s a spellbinding story that will spirit you away to a spooky wonderland at your favourite haunted hostelry – and see if you can work out who the ‘bad egg’ in the primetime tv henhouse at Whittle Inn is, before Alf and George do!
My favorite thing about this series is the richness and variety of the “family” of characters that we’ve come to know and love. This latest entry in the series does not disappoint. In this book, our favorite ghost maid (and baker!), Florence, has invited her favorite cooking show to come to the Wonky Inn! As you can no doubt imagine, things do not go as smoothly as one might hope! Another fun entry in this series, I think this book is best enjoyed if you’ve read at least one or two other books in the series. You can enjoy it on its own, but it’s much more fun if you know all the characters more intimately. Another winner from author Jeanne Wycherley.

Witch’s Televised Bake Off – What Could Go Wrong?
This is a really fun episode in the Wonky Inn series. I had a smile on my face during most of the reading. There were a few laugh out loud moments as well. This story centers around a televised cake bake-off. The descriptions of the cakes made my mouth water and tummy growl. The story is fun, there were many suspects and few clues. I received this wonderful ARC book from the author for free and this is my honest opinion.
Another fabulous installment from the Wonky Inn series! Each one just gets better and better!
Another great book in the Wonky Inn series! I feel as if I’m visiting dear friends when I read these books. In this book Alf has been persuaded to allow “The Great Witchy Cake Off”, Witchflix TV’s popular show, to film their next episode at her inn. Of course nothing goes as planned and the usual mystery and hilarity ensues.
As expected from this series, the story line is intriguing, the characters are expertly crafted, making the book interesting, and entertaining. I can’t wait to see what they’ll get up to next.
The mystery is always complex with many suspects, twists and turns, and surprises that leave you guessing until the end. I’m already looking forward to the next adventure in the Wonky Inn series!

The Great Witchy Cake Off #7 – There is a whole lot of intrigue with the murder, and pas and possible new love interest. I was happy with all the baking and not one bite available for me to sample, which is so sad since all the desserts sounded worthwhile to indulge with a cuppa. Again, there are good storylines, good characters with appearances from previous books and plenty of additional features in the background making Number 7 a toothy read. After reading so many of this series, it is hard not to get into a book report instead of a review, but I’ll let you discover this good read on your own, I contacted the author and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Wonky Inn Series:
The Wonkiest Witch: Wonky Inn Book #1 – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the story. As I became wrapped up in the pages, I started enjoying the storylines and the characters and wondering how much witch Alf would become. Since I’ve been reading about witches a lot lately, I get bored when I come across another witch refusing to be herself. Why deny what you are; do you give yourself a lobotomy if you’re intelligent and want to dumb down to normal? One of my role models, as a kid, was Samantha Stevens, she remained true to herself, and an independent woman, regardless of her silly husband’s demands; unlike Jeannie, a beautiful, two-legged Labrador (eager to please her master). Ms. Wycherley’s writing style is conversational and casual. The likable and interesting characters are developing at a good rate and will probably gain more depth as the series continues. The storylines do a good job setting the foundation from which the series will build. Once the intros are made there’s plenty of intrigue and suspense. A fire opens a can of troubles bringing the witch in Alf to full acceptance. A unique use of ghosts, which I’ve never read. I’m curious about the rest of the stories. I found this author on and her book through Booksprout. 4*
The Ghosts of Wonky Inn #2 – As much as I liked the first book, I loved this one. I absolutely love the ghosts and what they can actually do. This is one of the things I love about this series; plus the fact that the witch uses magic instead of denying who she is. The variety of ghostly characters are great. I couldn’t put the book down, I was so immersed in the fast paced, funny and intriguing storylines. The characters range in personalities, eras and locations, lending the story depth and substance. I wish all the books of the series had already been published so I could chain read them. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
Weird Wedding At Wonky Inn #3 – The additions to this series just keep getting better. Another hard to put down story. I love some of the guest characters; especially when she hit him (read the story), although why use blackmail in this case? Alf mixes a party with a vampire wedding and wonders what else is going to happen; lots do happen. Great-grandmother brings her share to the table and then splits, leaving a spot of bother. George is great with his acceptance of the vamps since he didn’t get on board quickly about Alf being a witch previously; what trust is that. The past is over for Alf as she finds the Mori is still about. Oh, speaking of the past, how about crazed villagers and a burning (read the story). That’s all the spoilers I’ve giving out. There’s more but I want you to enjoy the book like I did, without a book report. I contacted the author about reviewing her books and received this through Booksprout. 4*
Fearful Fortunes and Terrible Tarot #4 – I can’t get enough of this series. I enjoy the characters and their functions throughout the series. This one has almost everyone undercover. Another well thought out addition full of intrigue and suspense, and humor. The storylines are developing and there’s definitely bad news ahead. This book is darker than the previous ones and Alf gets to experience what witches suffered through centuries past. I didn’t care for the ending; of course for the main reason (read the book) and Alf’s attitude was nonchalant concerning that reason. I did enjoy Mama Henri, a voodoo queen from NOLA. 4*
The Mystery of the Marsh Malaise #5 – I absolutely love this series. You never know what to expect from Ms. Wycherley and her crew. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen, there’s a twist and you’re off again working it out. The characters grow on you and the ghosts are a big part of the enjoyment. Yes, there’s some darkness in this story; you’ve the good vs. the bad, plus a lot more in the storylines. There’s a new ghost and he’s great; I enjoyed what he and another ghost did to help Alf. With George, you know he’s going to be found sooner or later, but what else is found and the result is hilarious. Alf is still my type of witch and she keeps kickin’ it. Read these books sequentially, it is worth the time invested. A good, clean story full of interesting characters of all sorts and well thought out storylines with twists you just don’t see coming sometimes. I’m curious about the next ride Ms. W. has in store for her readers. I contacted the author to review her books and received this through Booksprout. 5*
The Mysterious Mr Wylie #6 – Entertaining and intriguing. Good storylines continued and new make this an interesting series. The past and the present come together with a bit of time travel to 1983, not a time I would have picked. The pace is fast and the characters, old and new, along with the humor help keep the reader immersed in the pages. It is great to see D back and he adds a bit of sexual tension to mix; good banter between him and A. It is so hard to write reviews for this series without turning it into a book report. You’ll enjoy the series more if starting from the beginning, but each book is a good standalone. I contacted the author to review her books and received this one through Booksprout. 4*
The Witch Who Killed Christmas – If you at all can, read the other books first, there’s spoilers. Another well written, entertaining story that starts around Christmas, just months later after Wonkiest ended. While not as intriguing as Wonkiest, there was a difficult problem to solve. The cast of interesting characters are still around. The writing style is still casual with humor and drama dispersed throughout the story, this is a quickly read novella. I definitely want to read the rest of the stories. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Wonky Inn Series End.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the seventh book in the Wonky Inn series and it was just such a great read. I just didn’t want it to end. I just fell in love with these characters and getting to go along on their journey. I can’t wait to read more wonderful stories from this author.
The Great Witchy Cake Off: Wonky Inn Book 7 by Jeannie Wycherley is a wonderful story that I loved reading. This is bok number seven in this wonderful series to read. I highly recomend this story to everyone story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy, mysteries and cozy mysteries in their stories.

I’m new to the series and started with this book (one of the perils of reading advance review copies) — a bit out of order, but it has a cast of characters who are entertaining enough to make me want to go back to the first book and learn all the backstories. It’s not required, though; this book stands on its own (although there’s definitely an unresolved romance plot that probably slow-burns through at least a few books in will-they-or-won’t-they style). If you enjoy reality TV competitions, you’ll have fun seeing bits of that in the baking competition wound through this cozy mystery. All in all, it seems an entertaining series!
Alfhild Daemonne (Alf) owns the Wonky Inn, a place that accepts all sorts of paranormals except vampires (from a previous bad experience). The Inn was hosting the Great Witchy Cake Off, and Alf was excited as it was her first experience with a film crew. The excitement builds as the contestants arrive. The TV crew had finished eating and Alf and her ghostly clean up crew were cleaning up when she heard a scream. Her Witch Twitch kicks in and sure enough there was a murder. A organizer for the event, Janice, had a large cake knife in her chest.
This is a wonderfully written cozy paranormal mystery filled with humour, mystery, and great characters. The characters are expertly crafted, well developed, interesting and entertaining. The narrative is done well giving the setting definition and further enhancing the characters’ personalities. The storyline, while easy to read, is complex with a plethora of suspects, numerous clues, twists, turns and surprises that leave you guessing right until the end. There is everything you would want from a cozy paranormal mystery, a murder to solve, romance, misdirection, humour and magic. This is the first book I have read in the series but it won’t be the last. I enjoyed it very much so it can be read as a stand-alone. Looking for a great Witchy mystery, look no further.

I really like this series especially as the characters continue to develop with each novel. One of my favorite parts of this novel is where the MC was out with a group of acquaintances and mentally tallied up her “deficits” in comparison to the other females in the group. She quickly stopped her negative internal dialogue and affirmed to herself that she is a strong, worthy person with no need to compare herself to others. Such a wonderfully written scene in which the MC acknowledges her own self worth. For this and her many quirky attributes, the MC is my idea of a great heroine – with many more adventures ahead, I hope.
Jeannie Wycherley has done it again with the 7th book in this series. I love Alf and all her friends at the Wonky Inn. This time it’s a bake off and Florence becomes a contestant after one drops out…the one that found the body. Of course Florence is overjoyed to be on her favorite show. The descriptions of Florence’s cakes were so great that I could picture them in my head!
I really love this series. Alf just has the biggest heart! And all the characters are just so wonderful. They are described in such a way that I feel like I know them. The Wonky Inn is a place I would love to visit and I get to with each new book! You should too!

I can’t believe this is the seventh book in the series already! I’ve really enjoyed all the Wonky books, this one included. Alf just takes life in stride, which I suppose is all you can do when you run a supernatural inn. In addition to murder, other problems keep popping up that keep her on her toes but it all comes together at the end. At least Florence is having fun. There’s a lot of humor and a little bit of snark, which I love.

Alf has lots going on with mail that keeps coming, a staff member who has her time to shine, two guys she has feelings for and a killer on the loose. There is loads of laughs not only at the names of the judges etc from Witchflix TV but the drama’s of the heart for Alf then we have the incidents that start to happen in and around the Wonky Inn after the murder that keeps you guessing who it could be and oh how I loved it how young Florence got to finally have her time to shine because the girl really deserves it.

Reality TV Witchy-Style!
Alf agrees to host the popular Witchflix Reality TV program ‘The Great Witchy Bake-off’ with disastrous results. Nice combination of new celebrity characters and returning favorites in this fast paced mystery of magic and mayhem with sweet HEA. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
This is a laugh out loud, fun, entertaining and engaging summer read that had my giggling and crying, a seriously excellent read. The perfect read for a lazy summer afternoon relaxing your cares away in a back yard char with your favorite cold drink.
Filming reality TV at the Wonky Inn. There is a recipe for disaster.
This is a standalone story in the Wonky Inn series. This is a perfect place to jump in and get a taste of this delightful series. But beware, as the series is highly addictive and you will soon want to read the rest of them.
I have loved the Wonky Inn from the first book I read and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. As usual, the story is very well written and filled with fun and interesting characters. I particularly enjoy the ghosts that inhabit the inn as they are always good for a laugh.
Speaking of which (witch?), the book provides a mystery coupled with a good sense of humor that keeps things from getting too intense. In spite of that, it is a good mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. The overall experience is one of delighted fascination, an excellent weekend entertainment. As always, I am left looking forward to the next wonky adventure.

Book seven in the Wonky Inn series a well written book that once I started reading I was not putting down. There is suspense, drama, danger, murder, mystery, twists, turns, villains, a bake-off, and surprises. I enjoyed reading this book. Alf Daemonne has her hands full when the producers of The Great Witchy Cake Off decide to use the Whittle Inn as their base for filming. Things don’t go as planned when the director is found dead and one of the contestants cannot go on. It is Alf to the rescue when she suggests Florence the ghost as a replacement contestant and also assigns herself as the personal sleuth to solve the murder case.
Madcap adventure and hilarity ensue as Alf tries to find the killer, work with her ex-fiance, and finds unexpected guests show up at the inn. Can the cake off event succeed or is there someone behind the scenes trying to sabotage the event? And will Alf find the murderer or will someone else be the next target?
If you enjoy cozy mysteries with quirky characters, humor, mystery, adventure, and a bit of paranormal activities, then you will enjoy this book. In fact, why not give the entire series a try?

Another fabulous episode to the Wonky Inn mystery series. This is another fun read with Alf and her Wonky crew, plus another murder and mystery to solve. You can read the summary under the book title or one of the many reviewers who love to retell the story the author already did a great job of, but I suggest you just get the book. It is fabulous!!
