“Carter’s writing is on target.” –Publishers WeeklyA curmudgeon. An iconoclast. A loner. “Carter’s outstanding debut crime novel set on the Oregon coast and starring a misanthropic former detective is as much a fascinating character study as it is an original story.” —Michael J. Totten, author of The Road to Fatima Gate

Very slow
Interesting characters. A light mystery with a twist .
The biggest problem with this book is that all the primary characters have the same smart mouth personalities: The PI, the dying grandmother, the confused teenager, the love interest newspaper lady, the PI’s bookstore friend, all the same. The result is endless conversations that sound completely bizarre and which don’t go anywhere. It got …
Very well written!
Great read, now want to get the rest of the books in the series.
Gr8 plot, the characters seem real, it holds my attention
Pleasant Surprised since I don’t normally read crime genre. But this book snuck up on me and I couldn’t put it down until finished. While each book is a stand a lone each book has some of the same characters and build on the former book. A great read and good series.
Suspenseful, well written.
This book was very entertaining and held your interest. Did not want to put it down.
Kept me guessing
Liked so much bought another one of his books.
Very good read!!
Really liked the characters
It was easy to get into and hard to put down.
Good story with twists and turns. Reiterates that there are some sick people in the world who get enjoyment out of hurting others. Example of being willing to take a chance on being happy again.
Average read with few surprises about murders in a small Oregon town.
If you like Jack Reacher (Lee Child) or Elvis Cole (Robert Craig), you’ll love Garrison Gage!
