Another fabulous read!!!! A.D. Wayne has done her homework once again and it shows!!! This is a very well done vampire romance that mixed elements of history with a storyline that was very well written and totally captivating! And the characters were just as intriguing. This has a little something for all with witch’s,werewolves, vampires and even a egyptian pharaoh ! The chemistry between Vladislav and Clementine is hot and steamy with a lot of sexual banter and I loved it!!! Both of these characters are dealing with a lot of internal issues and both each in their own way are shut down so when vlad asks clementine a gravedigger who has the ability to see someone’s past by just tasting their blood to help him find his stolen token before one of his enemies kills him, a alliance between them is forged and sets off a chain of events that not only brings vlad’s enemies out of the woodwork but also a threat from some of those closest to him,but also a passion and a fire in his blood for clementine! He will claim her and make her his for eternity, but once clementine tastes his blood and see’s vlad the impalers past will she see a man who was a true hero to his people or the monster that history has sometimes portrayed him as being. A.D. Wayne is a fabulous storyteller and This is just more proof of her talent. I hope theirs more to come. With so many great characters from Naten the pharaoh king to Shawna clementine’s best friend and Rougarou( werewolf) from a royal line who’s a kick ass chic to great villians like Ragnar the Viking vampire who wants to use clementines power to become a king again. Until next time Luv’s
Engaging!
Clémentine, a vampirologist, is determined to prove the existence of vampires. After finding a corpse in Austria, she goes on a quest to find the truth behind Vlad the Impaler’s life. What she finds will be more than she ever bargained for.
From the very first chapter, the Gravedigger is filled with suspense. What at first seems to be an enemy who must be dealt with turns to an alliance that I never suspected. I loved the relationship between Clémentine and Vlad. It was well-written and easy to lose myself among their banter. Both Clémentine and Vlad have their internal issues, but the way that handled them and one another was just fantastic.
I loved the mix of different history, mainly the blend of the Gothic setting and the introduction of an Egyptian Pharaoh. That was a creative twist, one I certainly didn’t see coming, and it added to the intrigue of this book.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
After reading Mrs. Blackwood, I was curious what Alexa Wayne would come up with in the second installment of the Lord Impaler series.
This time, she must have done excessive research on Vladislav Tepes, known as “Vlad the Impaler”.
When Clementine Lyon and her close friend Shawna Hunter get invited to a Halloween festivity, they expected to be there because they are hosting a documentary series about creatures of the night. They couldn’t have been more wrong!
Both women are no strangers to the paranormal world, as they have inherited supernatural abilities themselves. Still, they never expected this to be a gathering of true vampires, let alone meeting Clementines hero, the famous Vlad the Impaler himself.
What began as a harmless invitation, soon turns into a struggle for life and death, not only for Clementine, but also for Vlad, who had them invited because he needs Clementines help!
It’s a race against time! Their foes are vampire traditionalists, a psychopatic Necromancer, a lovesick human woman claiming Vlad as her own, and a scandinavian vampire holding a personal grudge against Vlad.
Will Clementine and Vlad manage to save each other with the help of an unexpected friend, and assure a new way of life for the vampire community, or will they perish in the onslaught of attacks about to come? Will the attraction they share for each other be their salvation, or downfall?
Another gripping tale by Aleya Wayne! I couldn’t put it down until I knew the answers to all these questions.
