Circumstances allow her to make a temporary escape from him, and with the friendship of veterinarian Noah Clark, she learns that she doesn’t have to be so good or … so good or obedient. But she also knows that the woman she is becoming is someone her husband will never allow her to be.
Noah discovers what Lindsey has hidden all these years. He goes to superhero efforts to help her find the strength to break free of all she’s suffered. Lindsey starts to understand that her life doesn’t have to be what her father or husband tried to make it. That is, if she can live long enough to claim what she wants and who she wants to be. For Lindsey knows, and what Noah doesn’t fully comprehend, is that nothing will stop her husband from destroying her.

I loved this book and the one before it. Easy read, but very realistic of domestic abuse. Heartbreaking at times.
Awful. Could have told the story in 1 chapter, dragged on and on and was so predictable and repetitive. Could barely finish it. Poor excuse to write a cheap story.
All books in the series are enjoyable.
Could have happened in real life, tragic topic of domestic violence.
enjoyed very much hard to put down
Well written. Topic was appropriately. Author knowledgeable of the top.
okay
This is not the type of book I would normally read… but it was very well written and kept me very interested.
A gripping read
Intense
This story does reflect on a painful marriage situation. An abusive relationship imprisoned her in prison of sort. A trip to see her pregnant sister starts an awareness of freedom and lack of fear.
Realistic view of how abuse can affect people from all walks of life…regardless of income or social status.
Loved that it dealt with domestic violence. Emphasized the importance of support for women in this situation.
Great story with an unexpected ending!
eye opener ,very nice read
Couldn’t put it down!
Characters were very likable. Too much emphasis on domestic violence. We realize and recognize the characters abuse, but should have been more about healing.
Subject matter (abusive spouse/husband) was too frightening and depressing. ( Although I just finished a book about the Holocaust).
Lindsey and her sister Jessie both suffered terrible abuse and help each other survive and recover. Hard to read accounts of some of the abuse as it happened, but necessary to understand the story.
I hate books that get to the apex of the story and then you have to get another book to see what happens
