Sometimes good things are nearer than expected. Margery has a nothing job, a nothing marriage, and zero self-esteem. Angie has everything she could ever want, except a life of her own making. Talia is overwhelmed by her pregnancy, by handling her career, and by caring for her toddler and a home-bound husband who needs a new heart. Gennifer has a high-powered career and a family that’s learned to … to fend without her. Gladys has never been married and approaches her golden years alone with failing eyesight. For the patrons of Neighbor’s Drugstore, the key to a rich, fulfilled life is closer than they think, if only they can open their hearts to the good nearby.

It was a long time ago that I read this one, but it was sweet.
Awesome read. Wonderful, realistic characters. Touching story of everyday people dealing with everyday issues and emotions that are kept behind closed doors.
Writing this review through tears. Thank You Nancy for ‘The Good Nearby.’ It’s a beautifully written story that inspires the reader to be just that. The frailty of every character is so common to mankind. You did a wonderful job of bringing our Saviour to every chapter.
5 Sister
The author bounces around from character to character but you get an understanding of them quickly. This book is a page turner, with an unpredictable ending.
Interwoven stories of five women and the trials and conflicts they face. God can take what the enemy meant for destruction and use it for good.
Enjoyed reading this book and getting to know the characters involved. A little bit predictable, but still a good read.
I recommend anything by this author
Loved it.
This had some very unexpected twists and turns. Quite a few characters to keep up with, but it was fascinating to see how the author wove all their lives together. Definitely worth the read.
Loved the message this wonderfully written book had to share.
A moving story about a girl who was always told she was the good nearby. The ending proves this is very true. How she impacts so many lives makes for an engrossing read.
Took a bit to really get into this one, but I’m glad I read it through. Good story with some interesting characters. *S*
Good story!
This book kept me reading and I read it fairly quickly. Good story and a good ending in spite of the ending being rather sad.
I started this book & am on chapter 3, but wanted to leave a review before I forget the HUGE ERROR I found…at the end of chapter 2 the last paragraph is cut off! There are only 2 words. That’s very disappointing to see that type of big error – even in a freebie Kindle book. Plus in chapter 2 the book starts different sections with completely different characters – with no warning – so it’s very difficult to keep up w/all of them.
There were things not particularly plausible in this story I will certainly grant you that. But the concept of being “the good nearby” is one that is going to stick with me. A very nice story and worth the read
The storyline & characters are very well developed. I could see where it was going but it kept me reading without too many clues! I will look forward to finding other books she has written.
An OK read
There were a wide variety of characters in the book which kept me needing to think through who was who, etc. Once that was settled the characters began to be connected in a variety of ways. By the conclusion everything was wrapped and tied up but it was almost too neat. Interesting story although some obvious creative license!
I really enjoyed this book. Quick read with a really good story. I usually do not review books, but I liked how the lives all intertwined. It shows how what you do and say can effect people’s lives you may not even know. Clean story, no sex, or foul language. Like I said I do not really like writting a review , because I have a hard time writting where it makes seance .
Have a blessed Bay!
