This summer, romance blooms again in Wildstone! Take a sneak peek at Jill Shalvis’s next Wildstone novel, Rainy Day Friends, in this charming new novella. After a difficult few years, Tilly Adams is ready for life to start going right. Though she has a case of first-day nerves teaching art at the local community college, she knows it isn’t anything a few snuggles from her rescue puppy won’t cure. … her rescue puppy won’t cure. Until she sees Dylan Scott again, her one-time BFF and first love sitting in the front row.
Dylan knows he should’ve left well enough alone, but when he sees Tilly living her dream, he can’t help but make contact. Ten years ago, he left Wildstone and everything in it behind, including Tilly. He had his reasons, but now he wants her back in his life, anyway he can get her.
When Tilly agrees to design the logo for Dylan’s new helicopter touring company, it’s business only . . . until she finds herself falling into his arms once again. Can she possibly open her heart back up to the only man who’s ever broken it? But soon they’re both realizing the truth—love always deserves a second chance.

I love these two!
We first met-and fell in love with- Tilly (the angry and lonely teenage sister of Quinn) and Dylan (the abused boy with a strong moral compass) in Lost and Found Sisters. Now, it’s ten years later and Dylan has returned to Wildstone in search of a new life, and maybe, hopefully, a second chance with the girl he left behind.
Tilly had her heart broken when Dylan disappeared without a word all those years ago, and she’s not anxious to relive the experience. But, when the boy from the past shows up in her classroom a drop-dead gorgeous man looking for forgiveness- what’s a girl to do?
Done with Shalvis’s signature style, this is a sweet, sexy story of two people who definitely deserve a happily-ever-after!
I give The Good Luck Sister 5 lovely kisses- A Feel-Good Romance!

My Review:
This was a quick, fun, amusing, and sweet read with a few licks of sizzle and steam. In other words – nirvana. She is a recent find for me but I am going to follow Jill Shalvis until my last breath, I adore her style and covet her delightfully clever arrangements of words.
When business reunites estranged best friends, and first time loves, Tilly and Dylan, it quickly becomes something else entirely that neither are prepared for, or sure that they really want. They left their relationship on not so good terms, Dylan chose to walk away without so much as a goodbye, leaving behind hurt feelings and a broken heart that Tilly isn’t so sure she can forgive him for, no matter how tempting he may be! But before long walls start to come down, a friendship re-blossoms, and so do the fireworks… but not without a little angsty wit battling here and there too!!!
The Good Luck Sister is an absolutely wonderful addition to the Wildwood series, it made me laugh, swoon, and catch a serious case of the feels!! The moment my eyes landed on the page the excitement of starting a new read from the queen of witty romance took over, and her amazing words and charming characters came into view and from there I was a goner!! I loved meeting these two characters, the witty banter was on point, their steamy moments curled my toes, and their story packed an emotional punch that left me a little teary eyed!! I highly recommend you make time to read this sweet little novella, it’s brimming with emotion, romance, and lots of humor that will do your heart and soul good!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed
Lost and Found Sisters is where you first meet Dylan and Tilly. Its where you get the feel for them and their personality and it is also where you learn of the painful childhood past they each had.
Now, in this quickie afternoon read you see what happen to them over the course of the years they were separated. The pain, sorrow, trials, and then back. Dylan made decisions that he left Tilly out of and that affected the way she saw life again. She has now found herself and made steps in her life to get control. Then walks in Dylan. Right up front and personal.
This was a good way to reconnect with previous characters. They were secondary in the first story and now they are primary and show you that lost young love can come back and be so welcomed.
A sweet and sexy, feel-good, humorous romance novella that is filled with charming characters who feel the pain from the past and have hope for the future.
Here is something that I have always been able to count on: Jill Shalvis’ writing makes me smile, lifts up my day, and gives all the warm and fuzzy, good kind of vibes that romance novels, in my mind, are supposed to be delivering. The characters are well thought out, they have an in-depth history, they feel deep and wide, and while they are not immune to the pain and sorrow of life, there’s always the silver lining that shines through.
In The Good Luck Sister teenage best friends Tilly Adams and Dylan Scott are brought together again, after a decade apart.
Dylan’s abusive childhood left sores in his soul that needed time to heal. He broke Tilly’s heart when he left the town to join the service, but he did it with good intentions.
Tilly has worked hard to reach her goals in life. Her dream to be a famous painter is not picking up as fast as she desired, and teaching arts and graphic design would help to finance her life while she waits for her big break. Imagine her surprise on the first day of teaching, when she walks into the classroom and Dylan is sitting in the front row.
Each chapter of the novella starts with a look at the life ten years ago, giving insights into the history Dylan and Tilly have. I appreciated those flashbacks to get the full history and see where Dylan and Tilly were coming from and what they had left behind, what they needed to overcome. The connection between Dylan and Tilly was true and tight, filled with adoration and passion. With the solid foundation they have had in the past, it was easier to build a relationship in the present. The timeline was a bit choppy, but the romance was believable and conceivable, the chemistry was there, the characters just needed to communicate, open their hearts, and honestly share their thoughts and feelings, from past and from the present.
A delightful and enjoyable, entertaining tale of teenage lovers finding their second chance with their soul mates ten years later…

Jill Shalvis’ books are such a joy to read and I just knew I was going to love Tilly & Dylan’s story! We were first introduced to these characters in the first book of the series, Lost and Found Sisters. Both were teenagers then. Now it’s 8 years later and Dylan has come back to Wildstone to start a helicopter tour business with his two friends and he’s also hoping to make amends with Tilly, his one true love who he left all those years ago without an explanation.
Tilly always had a dream of becoming a famous artist. Unfortunately, her life plans aren’t turning out quite what she had hoped for, but she’s determined to make the best of it. On her first day of teaching art at the local community college, she never expects to see Dylan sitting in the front row and it doesn’t go over well. All those feelings of love and heartbreak come flooding back. Dylan wants her to design the logo for his new business and if it also means getting to see more of Tilly, then all the better. He just hopes she can forgive him for the hurt he caused her.
There are things Tilly doesn’t know about why Dylan left all those years ago, and if he wants a second chance with Tilly, he’s going to have to open up to her.
The Good Luck Sister is a fun, sweet, heartfelt novella and another winner from Jill Shalvis!
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
OMG I totally loved getting Tilly and Dylan’s story 10 years later from when we first met them in Lost and Found Sisters. Learning what was going on with them back then from them and also witnessing their amazing reunion 10 years later was just amazing and heartwarming. Their hearts have clearly always been to halves of a whole all along and recognized the love that has always been there immediately. I love them! I also loved more of Quinn and Mick too! This is such a sweet novella I am so happy to have gotten the rest Tilly and Dylan’s story!!!
Another fun read from Jill Shalvis! The writing flows off the page and the characters are so personable, resulting in the desire to move to Wildstone. A quick, fun, and sweet read for your next beach day!
I probably broke a rule by reading this novella before I’ve had the chance to sit down and read the first book in this series, however, it doesn’t seem like I missed anything pertinent to understanding Tilly and Dylan’s story. I realize, though, that it might’ve made me appreciate it more had I read in order but, here I am.
This was a quick, easy and sweet second chance romance with a tiny, yet protective and fierce puppy, two interfering but well-meaning friends, a loving big sister and two people who never stopped loving each other. It’s just a quick story but Jill Shalvis, once again, flexes her outstanding writing muscles to build strong characters and a solid story in such a small amount of words. This is the reason she will always be my go-to author. I’m not sure she has ever disappointed. I’m excited to go back and read the first book and then follow up with the second full novel in June!
Loved this follow-up novella to Lost and Found Sisters, the first book in the Wildstone series. The Good Luck Sister follow’s Tilly and Dylan’s story 10 years later. It’s a quick read, but a great story – lots of emotion, steam, and a little humor as well. While this novella can be read as a standalone, I wish i had read Lost and Found first and will be going back to it to discover Tilly and her sisters story. Looking forward to more in this series. As always, anything by Jill Shalvis is a pleasure to read.
IF you read/have read Lost And Found Sisters, you NEED to read this “novella”. It will give more story for the characters from the 1st book. Enjoyable.
I remember when I first met Tillie, my heart bled for her. Losing one’s mom is never easy, especially as a teen, which is the time when you would need her most. Tillie lost her mom when she was fifteen years old and things were never the same for her. Then she discovered she had a big sister who would become her guardian. This was too much for her to handle and she acted out as any teenager in her position would. Now ten years later she has grown into a responsible adult, but some things has not changed. She is still feisty, sassy and not afraid to speak her mind as Dylan, her best friend and first love, who had abandoned her ten years ago would discover. It was good to reconnect with her and see all she accomplished in the last ten years. When Dylan saw she was living her dream he felt he needed to reconnect with her, but he would soon find out it would the hardest task he would ever face.
The good thing about this novella is that it can be read as a stand-alone. The flashbacks provided sufficient details for one to understand the history, which Dylan and Tillie shared. Dylan wanted to rekindle what he and Tillie once shared, but she was not on board as the pain of his abandonment was still as fresh today as it was ten years ago. Will he be able to convince to accept him back in her life or will he be forced to live the rest of his life without Tilly?
They both deserved to have their happily ever after and I was glad see they had the chance to get it right the second time around. Dylan however was still struggling with deep-seated emotional wounds, which he needed to come to terms with if he hoped to regain Tillie’s trust.
Events developed fast, which is typical of novellas. Despite the fast development, their romance was believable and I could relate to them as a couple.
Conclusion/Recommendation
The Good Luck Sister is a well-written story, which was filled with funny, sweet, spicy and nostalgic moments. My only problem with the story, and I think everyone will agree me, is that I wish it was longer. I enjoyed the story and spending time with the characters, especially the adorable pup named Leo. I recommend this story to fans of second-chance small town romance. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
Fabulous Novella! It had me chuckling quite a few times and the ending was perfect. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Mary Jo –
This short story resolves Tilly and Dylan’s story. Tilly still suffers from the insecurities that she always has, of not being “enough” for people to stay. Dylan has wanted more for Tilly, to the point that he left her abruptly to join the military.
Now that he’s back, he wants to resolve the way he left and be friends with her, but Tilly is not as forgiving as he would hope. Tilly just feels lost and unloved.
As they resolve the issues of the past, they find the sparks still burn hot.

This is a follow on from Lost and Found Sisters, and I would suggest that you read that first: a) it is a fantastic story, b) this will make more sense. That said, I think you would love this whatever!
Tilly is all grown up and still living on the island. She is still very close to her sister, Quinn, who is about to give birth, her niece and to Mick. She enters her first ever classroom to find her first love sitting at a desk, eight years after he left her high and dry.
I really enjoyed how each chapter gives us more of their history and then switches to now, and how they need to move forward. There are both Dylan’s friends and Quinn all trying to make good things happen. There are some really funny lines, but I also managed to shed a few tears. For quite a short book, we get a very well rounded, romantic, and meaningful story – not that one should be surprised, Ms. Shalvis is a master at her craft.
I’m excited for the release of the next book in the series in June.

Cute, quick read…it is a novella after all! The Good Luck Sister follows Dylan and Tilly ten years after we first met them in Lost and Found sisters.
I love that we get to see where Dylan and Tilly are now. Tilly, a teacher and Dylan, using his military experience to start a new venture. He needs some help from Tilly, so signs up for the class she’s teaching. Tilly sees him and can only see what she thought was betrayal.
Second chance at love is the theme here. I was happy to see that Dylan and Tilly did get their second chance. Hopefully we’ll see more of them in future Wildstone novels.
I love Jill Shalvis’ books and this one is no exception! She has delivered another amusing, heart-felt book. Tilly Adams is a 25 year old teacher at the local community college, who rescues a 2 month old, 6 lb Maltipoo from beneath a bus bench. On the first day of class, Tilly spots her best friend and first love, Dylan Scott, seated in the front row. Tilly lost her best friend, the love of her love of her life and all contact when he joined the Marines without telling her – until he walked back into her life 10 years later. Jill gives her readers glimpses back to their teenage years, showing us how they depended and supported each other.
As Jill has done in many of her books, whether she is writing about siblings or good friends, I love the way she shows there is nothing like it when they call us out on our own craziness!
I’m glad that Tilly & Dylan were finally reunited, because they both deserve a HEA. Their second chance romance was sweet & entertaining. I loved that each chapter starts with humorous quotes from Tilly’s journal.
I hope that Dylan’s business partner, Penn, will get his own novel soon. I would love to read his story.
I voluntarily read & reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
Another wonderful book from Jill Shalvis.
I have been waiting to see what happened to Tilly and Dylan. Ten years is a lot of time to be separated and Tilly is pretty hurt by the way Dylan left. Both need to decide if it is worth the fight.
The Good Luck Sister This is my first book from Jill Shalvis. It was a quick cute read. I would love to have the character’s relationship explored more. Since it was a novella and not a full book, it seemed their relationship moved extremely fast. However, I’m glad that there were glimpses of their relationship from 10 years ago to catch us up and to show that even though they moved fast in their current relationship, they had a very special bond as teenagers and could never get over each other. I wasn’t very emotionally attached to the characters as in some books, but again it was just a novella. After reading “The Good Luck Sister”, I am definitely going to read more of Jill Shalvis’ books, especially this series to find out more about the characters. I am glad to add Jill Shalvis’ books to my library.
