The Good Knight is mildly entertaining, but its lack of pace and its constant reminders of the romantic attraction of the lead characters interferes with the resolution of the murder mystery which is the central issue of the book. It does feature a surprise ending which helps gain this book my 4-star rating.
For readers who enjoy tales of medieval knights and ladies, this may be a good book. I incorrectly thought there would be more historical background.
Not bad
It is a delightful book and a good start to the series. I enjoyed the two points of view from Gareth and Gwen; it allowed for the story to progress nicely. It reminded me of Midsomer Murders where the person who was murdered is the real target and everyone else who dies is someone who could have given the secret away.
The dialogue was a little …
Learned a lot about the beginnings of the age of chivalry. Amazing career of this knight who served five kings.
Well researched historical murder mystery. The whole series is a wonderful lesson of that period in Wales, England and Ireland.
Loved this book and it’s characters
This opened the door to a time and a country that I only vaguely knew. The author brought out daily life and history in a fashion that makes me want to read and learn so much more!
Not bad, just disappointed it was in a series .
Good read altho names too hard to keep up with. Liked the times of the story and felt it was well presented.
I bought this book because of the reviews but I wasn’t sure it was the type I’d really like. I was soooo wrong. Even though set in the time of knights, the story ‘s character’s personalities seemed very modern and real. No one was without faults but you had heroes and evil men. A good book moves quickly.
Just a warning, this book can stand …
In 1143, Owain, the king of North Wales, prepares for the wedding of his daughter Elen to a neighboring king. A court musician with his son and daughter set out cross-country to perform for the crowds during the festivities. A horrific scene blocks their passage: the massacre of the bridegroom-king and his entourage. Gwen, the daughter of the …
very much enjoyed this book. Enough to go on to the next. Thank you for the lack of typos!!!
The storyline was interesting and i really liked the characters. It was hard to put down. I read it in two evenings.
I enjoy reading books set is this time period. It is entertain to see how they lived, traveled, etc. it was a fun read.
Disappointed. Throwing out a lot of words with double letters in them doesn’t make a historical novel worth while. You might as well throw in a wrinkled trenchcoat and let Columbo ask the questions. Glad I didn’t pay for this one

Interesting historical period and locale that is not widely known.
Enjoyed because I have lived in Wales, and know a fair bit of its history. Found the book very interesting, with a fair amount of action, with a few twists.
I liked it & am going to enjoy reading the series .
Enjoyed reading about characters developing throughout the story.
