“I’ve been following her for the past few days. I know where she buys her groceries, where she has her dry cleaning done, where she works. I don’t know the color of her eyes or what they look like when she’s scared. But I will.”
One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn’t show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia’s life.
When Colin decides to hide Mia in a secluded cabin in rural Minnesota instead of delivering her to his employers, Mia’s mother, Eve, and detective Gabe Hoffman will stop at nothing to find them. But no one could have predicted the emotional entanglements that eventually cause this family’s world to shatter.
An addictively suspenseful and tautly written thriller, The Good Girl is a propulsive debut that reveals how even in the perfect family, nothing is as it seems.

This one of my favorite authors. I have to read all of her books and I am working my way through them all this is the one that hooked me in. If you have never read any of these you should probably start with this one. I couldn’t let this book go.
I couldn’t put it down. Amazing.
I’m so outdone. I did not have this figured out, at all. Very good storytelling. I quite enjoy this author.
Her debut, The Good Girl is a page-turner of a kidnapping that did not go according to plan.
Mia Dennett, the neglected daughter of a distinguished Chicago judge, James Dennett, is the victim of the kidnap. This story is told in alternating first-person perspectives, by a small cast of characters before and after Mia is recovered. Eve Dennett is …
I loved this book.
Mary Kubica has quickly become one of my favourite authors. THE GOOD GIRL is a compelling page turner, a fascinating look into the human psyche. This is clever writing. Fantastic, complex characters and a story where nothing is really as it seems. Highly recommended for those who enjoy domestic suspense. You won’t be disappointed.
If you want to read well-crafted psychological suspense, Mary Kubica is the go-to source. There’s a reason she’s hit the bestseller lists, and I have a feeling she’s here to stay.
This is the story of Mia (AKA Chloe) and Colin (AKA Owen) or so we think as we read it. Colin is paid to kidnap Mia for ransom her father being a wealthy, well-known judge. Nothing goes as planned, and somehow as I read this book the ending was both expected and unexpected. So let’s dig in just a little bit.
The book isn’t told in chronological …

Loved this book! I finished this book in two days!
Wow. I didn’t really see this coming. So much about this story made some kind of sad sense. People hurt each other in many ways.
This – this went not only in a way that our hearts – can sadly understand- but in ways that we hope we never ever have to.
I will say that when parents hear of other parents harming their children- perhaps- it’s …
Loved the book such a good author. Was a page turner.
Familiar characters and set up. Felt derivative.
All I can say is WOW!! The end of this book found me absolutely flabbergasted!!! I did not see this coming! Superb writing!!
If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. HOLY COW! The different points of view, from the mother, the kidnapper, and the detective helped tie everything together and give you more information than you would from a traditional one-person point of view. But the ending…… THAT is where you’re thrown for a loop and you just sit back …
Very good storytelling. I quite enjoy this author.
Slow and predictable
This was a great read, lots of suspense.
I loved this book.
Excellent thriller!
