“I’ve been following her for the past few days. I know where she buys her groceries, where she has her dry cleaning done, where she works. I don’t know the color of her eyes or what they look like when she’s scared. But I will.”
One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn’t show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia’s life.
When Colin decides to hide Mia in a secluded cabin in rural Minnesota instead of delivering her to his employers, Mia’s mother, Eve, and detective Gabe Hoffman will stop at nothing to find them. But no one could have predicted the emotional entanglements that eventually cause this family’s world to shatter.
An addictively suspenseful and tautly written thriller, The Good Girl is a propulsive debut that reveals how even in the perfect family, nothing is as it seems.

Thoroughly enjoyed. This is out of my normal genres. It was picked for me by OneNightStandandaBook as part of support small businesses. I was so happy with the entire box, I’ve ordered another (waiting).
Great ending.
A very fast read. I enjoyed the mind game and how the story was told from the different perspectives. It was interesting to get my mind into the game to try to understand where each of the characters were coming from.
The book follows the characters, Mia, Eve, Colin, and Gabe through a set time. How each of the characters respond and deal with …
5* Engaging Stars
I can’t believe that this was Mary Kubica’s debut novel. It was perfectly written and kept my attention from the first page read until the last word was written.
The story was engaging and intense. I enjoyed the different POV’s which flashed back and forth to before the kidnapping of Mia and after, creating great suspense. The …
Got me from the beginning, and kept me to the end.
Movie is coming!! As I delved deeper into this wonderful book by Mary Kubica, I found myself reading slower in order to savor the experience. I just didn’t want it to end.
It takes a little bit of time to get used to the back and forth timeline as well as multiple narrators, but once you understand, you find that this technique amplifies the …
Loved it
Mrs. Kubica is such an amazing writer that she can give away important clues at the beginning of the book about the ending. AMAZING!!! But she pulls it off flawlessly. I loved every page turn, just soooooo good!
Mary Kubica writes amazing stories. This one was so intense with a twist at the end that I did not see coming. I highly recommend all of her books.
Absolutely amazing! A real page-turner with an unexpected plot twist.
To me, this book seemed to drag at times. But the shocking ending made it all worth it.
Surprised me with how much I enjoyed this book. Read in one sitting, as I couldn’t put it down!
Really enjoyed this book a lot, easy to read, enough suspense to keep drawing you in, engaging characters, and a twist in the end!
Unforgettable plot twists that will keep you turning the page to find out what happens next. 1st rate crime thriller!
I have really enjoyed reading Mary Kubica’s books However thia one I had to keep putting down after a couple chapters. It was very depressing.
Good thriller with interesting characters that you grow to care about.
This was my first psychological thriller book I read after reading dozens of romance books. I LOVED this! The ending was spot on! I prefer a twist on the last page rather than a long/drawn-out twist and this achieved just that! I read this 1-2 years ago and still think about how incredible that ending was!
Mary Kubica keeps you guessing!
I enjoyed this book.
Love her books. I love her style of writing
