Julia Ottley has one shattering secret. She may have burst onto the literary scene with the highest ever advance paid to a British debut author. And her novel – featuring a fabulous tower of translucent icy crystal – may well go on to become a modern classic. She fights to keep her secret, but as the stakes steadily rise, she faces a stark choice. How far is she really prepared to go to stop her life from coming crashing down?

Every one has two sides to their personality. Shakespeare said it well about all the world is a stage and we are the actors in it. The main character, Julia, is presented as a boring lonely and somewhat uncaring person. She seems to have only one friend who cares about her. I think the short sex scenes were there to emphasize this aspect. But after reading Greggs’ other books I kept on, knowing something big would happen. And it did! Mr. Dunnett is fast becoming one of my top favorites.
surprise ending!
There is always more than meets the eye and you won’t figure this out. I was trapped in the story. The young author lands in gold but happy ever after this is not. Eerie and a bit horrible but very well done.
I really hated the main character in this book. She was a recluse who liked to dominate people to her will.
This book started off okay but plot kept turning for the worst. Found it boring.
Didn’t like any of the characters either.
plot was redundant. too predictable. characters reacted stupidly, again and again
Good thriller
WOW, not often enough you come across a book this entertaining
I loved it. Was expecting a different ending, hoping for a different ending…..darn it!!
The Glass Tower was a very interesting book. Although it became predictable to some extent, there were also things I didn’t see coming. There are about three instances of sex references that I felt were unnecessary and awkward but I chose to be open minded and continue with the story. Glad I did because it was a captivating read that I didn’t want to put down.
Just did not like the main character or plot development at all.
It was hard to put down. Every time I thought I knew which way the story was headed, it took an unexpected turn.
I really enjoyed it.
The main character was unpredictable. Sinister to say the least. A page turner for sure.
Author examined some very real issues. Unexpected ending.
Oh, what a character she was! Everything her way. Story told in a great way and what a surprise ending!
This was a terrible book! The Protagonist was the most irritating character that I ever came across in a book! Whether it was the author’s intention to create a character that was so lacking in personality and intellect, was hard to fathom. The story was extremely improbable with an equally improbable ending! I persevered to the bitter end thinking that it was going to improve from one chapter to the next, but sadly it didn’t! A big disappointment, and a complete waste of time!
Some interesting parts. Not a fan of the continual overuse of drugs by the main character.
This book just couldn’t keep my attention. Did not finish.
Entertaining book with many twists and turns. A great read.
I enjoyed the book. I was surprised at the ending. I had something else as to what would have happened.
