Whenever I need a new perspective on how things are going in my life, I always turn to this book. My favorite book!
Sell it for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reminiscent of 1984, Animal Farm, and relevant to what I see going on in the world
I read this book with both my fifth grader and my freshman reading group. It’s a haunting, fascinating insight into what’s possible when too much is controlled, and an all-too timely look at how things can just be considered “normal” when we might need to consider that we might not be given all the information about what’s truly happening in our …
This is a very good book. It’s not just entertaining but very informative and educational. It is family friendly and a perfect choice for a class reading.
Read in one day, couldn’t put it down. Definitely one of my favorites.
the book is very good and very interesting
this book was amazing
I read this for a school project. I really like it!
It is a really good book !!!
Less than 24 hours to finish this book. Having 3 kids, that’s saying something. I enjoyed it very much. I was instantly drawn into the world and had trouble putting it down to face real life. I also knew within the first few chapters that I had to suggest it to my soon-to-be 12 year old daughter. This dystopian world is different than the others …
It’s such an amazing book! I love how it makes you not want to stop reading
The Giver by Lois Lowrey is a fantastic novel and a true definition of a dystopian novel. In which, the society appears to be a utopia when in actuality, it’s a dystopia (broken society). The novel begins very lightly and even though there isn’t a lot of context at the begging of the novel, they’re little things that are still interesting and lead …
Such a good book and a great read. 1st book in his series
I read The Giver the first time as a youth and have since re-read it multiple times. Every time I read it, I am reminded as to how good it is. A truly original story, The Giver makes you think and really reflect on the world and how the world may one day be. Lessons can be learned from a young age all throughout adulthood. A masterfully …
The original dystopian society novel that everyone seems to forget about!! This book and it’s three companions make up the second best book series I’ve ever read (behind Harry Potter). The world is so imaginative and the character building is incredible, Lois Lowery is amazing!!
I thought this was a great book. It was actually the first adult book I read, back when I was 12 years old. The whole world that’s built, from the selection of professions to the preservation of innocence, is so amazing! I would recommend this book to anyone.
A quick read book.
It smells bad
This is one of those summer reading books I avoided in middle school, only to go back to a few years later and discover that its BRILLIANT. And short. You can get through it in under a day, so what’ve you got to lose?
