Justice with a vengeance.Imagine if you were offered a choice: give up your freedom or watch the people closest to you lose theirs. What would you do?When international fugitive Sydney Rye turns herself over to authorities in order to protect the vigilante network she inspired, her freedom depends on helping Homeland Security shift the tides in a war for “hearts and minds.” Sydney Rye is tasked … in a war for “hearts and minds.” Sydney Rye is tasked with the perfect assignment: recruit female fighters to take on jihadists. Being killed by a woman is the only thing extremists fear because they believe it bars their entrance to Heaven. But when the director who enlisted Sydney Rye is killed, and the deal she made is scrapped, Sydney and Blue are left in a war zone, hunted by both the U.S. government and jihadists.

Too much vulgarity — I didn’t make it through
Enjoy reading Sydney and blue adventure s
This is the most recent book in a series that is compelling, action packed and addictive. Not a kids book. So many good people struggling to overcome evil in our world. And uncertain good or not people stepping in and out with possibilities for good but not necessarily delivering. This book dwells in the ugliness of a Boka Haram like organization. The inspirational part of a female prophet freeing women’ mind and hearts to rebel against such power imbalance is stunning. The story pushes us to reconsider our own lives. Not preachy, just powerful story telling.
Love all her books so far!
Kind of a female James Bond.
Not super realistic but action packed with lots of twists and turns!
The best character in the book was the dog! Easy to read but I wouldn’t call it a page turner.
Not really believable, but the protagonist is tough and good hearted.
I didn’t enjoy this book, Girl With A Gun, as much as Emily’s other books, but it was still good. Everyone seems to be writing about middle east problems. It felt a little too far reaching for me. I do enjoy something more realistic and, of course, Blue is a big draw
Don t like books that leave you hanging at the end.
Sydney and Blue are incredible covering the globe. My daughter rescued a Shepard mix and named him blue! Keep them coming.
Like all the Sydney Rye books.
Enjoyed very much
Hard to read due to crazy story line. But once author gets on a roll, she keeps it a simple yet fictional ride. I hope for better and more solid reality in her future releases.
Non-existent skill set for character.
Interesting book. I had already been warned about the F bomb and (non-descriptive) sex but was very bothered by the swearing. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is not appreciated. If I had been warned about that I would not have bought it. That being said, the story is otherwise well told and interesting and would definitely been worthy of 5 stars. Offending people of faith is never a good way to tell a story.
A bit shallow…left hanging at end
Too slow. Not enough action.
I loved the portrayal of how strong women truly are whether it’s one alone or a group of them.
I enjoyed the story but was disspointed with the ending. Really, what has the dog to do with the story other than biting some-one in the arm!! Characters lack development–but lots of action and killing, not much resolving.
