I love historical fiction. Very well written. I would read other books by this author.
This is a story of what happened to Jewish children during the WWII.
I read this over a year ago, or perhaps 100 books ago. I still remember the plot and the memorable characters. I recommend this book. A good read.
This book is about the Holocaust, and starts out in Germany. However, most of the story actually takes place in England about a young girl and what she goes through as a refugee there during the war. It felt very realistic.
Book did a good job of bringing reader into the experiences of the British during WWII.
Well written. realistic account of what life was like in London during WW2. Engaging characters.
Another book that takes me out of my known world into one I could never imagine. How people survive!!!
I really liked this book. Was well worth reading.
Currently reading. Like it a lot!
Will deepen your understanding of this part of the world. A page turner.
Loved it
I love this author. Diney Costletoe always writes great moving stories, a lot of them based on children and hardship. I am looking forward to the next novel she comes out with. I highly recommend all of her books.
I think this book was well worth reading. It is well written, easy to read and kept my interest. A different scenario, good read.
This was a wonderful book that touched the heart. I loved the story that was so uplifting . Great writing by a talented author. A book that stays with you long after you finished reading.
I enjoyed it
This one was unputdownable. I just had to find out what happened. At one point, it seems like there is just too much tragedy, but the author keeps it light with just enough dramatic irony to make you hope there’s a happy resolution to it all.
Being born after WWII I read this book with great interest. I guess I had never quite given thought to the hardships endured by England and especially the children of Germany/Jewish parentage. I learned so much I only wish my Dad (a WWII veteran) was still here to discuss all this new information with me. I expect to add this fabulous author to my “must read” list and continue to learn more about our world.
Touching. Hated to see it end.
Gave great insight about what really happened during the London blitz.
How sad it must have been to live through such a time.
