From USA Today bestselling author KL Donn comes the all-new Uncontrolled Heroes series where the heroes took over and decided they all get a little lovin’.
Jace Cooper spent his life waiting. Waiting to grow up, waiting to run his own business with his best friend Cade, waiting for the right girl.
Growing up took time, owning a successful motorbike shop was easy, and the right girl came when he … shop was easy, and the right girl came when he least expected it.
From the minute his eyes laid upon Calla Davies, he knew she was the girl who was meant to be his. She would be the girl to own every piece of his soul.
If only he could show her that his size wasn’t nearly as intimidating as she thought.
Calla Davies spent a lifetime apart from her father and sister. When her mother took her in the middle of the night, she was confused and heartbroken. For years she wondered why as she watched her mother’s mind deteriorate.
After finally finding her family, Calla never expected to fall in love with a man more than twice her size and be afraid of him at the same time.
All either of them wanted was to be loved. Will Calla move past her fears and accept Jace’s devotion for what it is, or will she wind up like her mother: broken and afraid?
Falling in love isn’t always planned, and when you least expect it, your heart decides for you. Come on over to Long Beach, California, to find out who falls in love, who gets naughty on the beach, and if family truly is everything.

Calla’s story broke my heart. Even though the story is short, it brings out all the emotions. I cried, I laughed, I blushed. Jace is just swoon-worthy and my knees would practically give out everytime he called her “sweetness”. Leave it to KL Donn to bring me out of my reading funk.
In The Girl Who Was Meant To Be Mine Calla is a strong survivor of her past.
Jace has spent his life run a motorcycle shop and when he meets Calla not only does he knows the story she gives of the her past with her mother is wrong but with out a doubt she is the only girl for him. So he helps her through everything and it brings them closer. But can Calla get over all she through in the past to be with Jace. And give them a real future…..
K. L. Donn gives us some great characters. The Girl Who Was Meant To Be Mine has a strong storyline. I love the series.
This story absolutely twisted up my heart. Calla has been through so much in her young life. I was pulled in to her story and that connection Jace had to her. The story flowed with strong characters and more stories I’m anxious to read about!
Tragedy, sorrow, heartbreak… balanced by hope, love and happiness. Calla’s life has been one of tormented abuse. Physically and emotionally, her heat and body betrayed by the one who should have protected her above all else. But then, light appears. Can she trust the hand that has been held out to her? Can she put faith in the family who was left behind? Can she rise above the terror to form a new relationship?
Calla is like a diamond. Tragedy has formed her and its time to break free of the past and shine. Jace is so perfect for her, he sees the real her and wants to do whatever he can to support her. Her fight to keep the truth about her mom from her sister and dad was so touching and heartbreaking. She wanted to spare them the pain of knowledge. Jace said that she is too good for this world and he was so right. She never uses her past as a weapon or an excuse. She is sweetness, without a doubt. You’ll see what I mean when you read it. KL Donn did a fantastic job, as always. She crafts emotional stories with characters you quickly bond with and before you know it, you are consumed by it all. That is why I adore her; ten stars for Jace and Calla!
Tissue please, Louise!
First, can I say that it was not fair reading Calla’s story…knowing that I can’t afford to have a runny nose from crying my eyes out?
That said, I must admit that I was waiting for Calla’s story, and as usual, KL Donn did not disappoint.
Calla Davies was uprooted from the life she knew at an early age, by a mother whose inner demons allowed her to vent her anger on her youngest child. Jace Cooper saw in Calla the girl that was meant to be his and set out to convince her that they were meant to be together, if only she found the strength to believe in herself, that she is worthy of loving, and being loved.
There are a lot of hidden gems in Calla and Jace’s story, but one thing Jace said to Call stands out to me, as it should to everyone who ever felt self-doubt: “You are worth everything, Calla, but nobody can make you see that but you.”
For that single line, KL Donn, thank you.
This book is fantastic as you would expect of a KL Donn book. This book is about Jace and Calla and their coming together. He is her protector. This books gives you all the feels and is a quick read. It’s quick because you can’t put it down. Seriously when’s the next book??? Soon???
Oh my gosh Kl Donn has broken my heart again and put it back together again even if you can still see the scars left behind wow just wow
So well written I cried I smiled I loved I couldn’t put it down this series has been amazing definitely worth reading …
I can’t wait for the next one !
Jace and Calla’s story was so good. We meet Calla briefly at a younger age in the beginning of the book and quickly learn her childhood was not good. This was heartbreaking and it made me want an HEA so bad.
And then there was Jace – patient, calm, strong – everything that Calla would need to heal.
Another 5 star read from me!
This story is gut wrenching. Calla doesn’t feel like she deserves love because of a past that is indescribable. Jace is a big man with an even bigger heart. He is so patient and sweet and just what Calla needs.
Such a great addition to the series and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. If I didn’t have work the next day I would have finished it at 3am. It was hard having the self-control to stop. I wanted to devour this book, but savor at the same time.
Side note: super hot and steamy as always. KL Donn never disappoints in that department.
Loved this one! Marking as a re-read for sure!
KL Donn’s books are my guilty pleasure. The only issue is that I keep having to wait for her to write and publish a new! The Girl Who Was Meant To Be Mine was exactly what I needed to de-stress mid week. Jace is absolutely perfect for Calla. He’s a protector in the storm…the nightmare extinguisher. With the way poor Calla grew up, I’m shocked that she gravitated to him. But then again, this is KL Donn writing this story. I absolutely devoured this and once again I find myself waiting for the next book!
I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. OMG I loved it! Calla’s life has been a tragedy and full of hate from the moment her mom drives away with her to the moment her mom dies. Her father and sister never stopped looking for her and their PI finally convinces her to move to be a part of the family. Jace is a large, tattooed hulk who builds motorcycles and is a big teddy bear, especially when it comes to Calla. He knows she is meant to be his, he just needs to earn her trust and show her what love is. So good! (I will say there may be triggers in this book, but the happily ever after makes it all worth it).
So good and long awaited! Jace is just perfect for Calla. Calla has many struggles to overcome. Jace is so patient and wisely bides his time. Great chemistry and steam. Jace is very OTT and scrumptious! Quick read that fills that OTT want we all crave.
Calla and jace stole my breath. These two were so perfectly opposite and fit like two halves of a whole. The terror calla went through for most of her life leaves her so damaged that she doesn’t think she can be saved, or is even worth being saved. But Jace swoops in and shows her what she’s worth, which is everything. He is patient and caring and super sexy. Along with being a crazy, sweet, romantic ride, this book kicks the heat into high gear more than once, I would take Callas place in the bedroom any day. 5 amazing stars for another KL Donn success!!
Swoon worthy.
Sorrow is one word for Cali, but it’s only there for a moment, then the words change to victorious survivor. Caught as a young girl in a scenario that she could not escape she has survived. Jace has been watching her since she returned to her family, but she’s not really fitting in and Jace is the one to figure it out. Memorable lines, “Take it, grip it with both hands, and don’t ever let go”, “angel in a devil’s world”, and “you’re worth everything”. Gut wrenching story with my emotions all over the place, including their HEA. Loved this book.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Where do I start?!! Well five bloody big stars off the bat! I wish I could give more because this story is going to stay with me for quite sometime to come.
I think I read most of the first half of this book through a veil of tears! Nothing prepared me for Calla’s story and then there is Jace. Lord that man sees through everything and stole my heart along with my breath.
ALL THE FEELS!!! And this author does it each and every time!!!
I don’t do spoilers, just how this book made me feel. I am off to read it again, to bask in every single emotion this author’s words evoke.
Go…..add it to your tbr!!!!
