Book Boyfriends are real. Pass it on. Professional book blogger Romy Cartelli may have cried werewolf once or twice. Hell, she’s even cried vampire, warlock, and dragon their fair share of times—because, as every dedicated reader knows, one book boyfriend is never enough. And her followers love it…until they don’t. Sure, Romy is being stalked by a sexy werewolf, but she’s got bigger issues to … werewolf, but she’s got bigger issues to deal with. Like the fact that he might be a murderer. Or worse yet, that she got drunk and told all of her followers that werewolves actually exist. Then she fails to prove it.
Cue the trolling and the haters.
Now Romy’s out to prove she’s not crazy and win back her followers. But as she sets out to clear her name, she’ll discover there are bigger dangers awaiting her than internet infamy.

This book should come with a warning label! This is everything thing a reader could want in a paranormal book:
Drool worthy guys? Check .
Girls’ Night with the Besties? Check .
Humor? Double Check .
This book is a readers dream come true, literally. The FMC? Yup you guessed it she’s a reader and she’s hurdling straight into every reader’s dream. This book is light and comedic while maintaining an air of mystery and romance, but none of that takes away from the darker themes lurking around in the back. Each character brings something unique to the table and better yet they feel like real people. I don’t just mean they are well written, but they could seamlessly blend into to the real world as people not just in a way where they are realistic for their world. Thank god the next book is out and waiting to be devoured next, I flew through this in 2 hours and need more ASAP.
Book boyfriends are most definitely real!!
But let’s forget about book boyfriends, because I’m claiming Romy as my new book bestie. #BookBestiesAreReal
Reading this book was like hanging out with your best friend and having her tell you a crazy story that starts off with “well what had happened”. I mean we all have that one friend who all the crazy and weird things seem to only happened to them; well Romy is that friend. She is cray-cray in the best of ways; she’s a sassy, sweet, sexy, and hilarious book nerd. Basically the type of chick I would totes hang out with.
Oh and lets not forget about Kash, the object of my current book boyfriend obsession, and his sexy alpha werewolf goodness. Kash is HAF, funny, protective, and has all the best qualities of the perfect man. These two characters are everything right about books. As a whole this book has suspense, mystery, laugh out loud moments, and of course steamy hot sexy moments. Oh and not to mention stellar supporting characters as well.
Forget about Batman and Robin, Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd are the new dynamic duo; Hildenbrand + Shepherd = Dynamite. I cannot wait to read book 2 in this series.
Sassy and the alpha.
Oh snap, that was good!! I think I was hooked from the first word. I love Pepper’s sassy self and her alpha. In fact I love them all! Her besties rock! A little bit of romance, a little bit of……(yes, you know that which I speak of), mystery and intrigue. Awesome read! The ending just about gave me a heart attack, because I thought I broke my kindle, because I kinda threw it down, because that cliffhanger…, because I was like NO!!!, because it’s a long time until Feb 18. (drops karaoke mic)
I love a strong heroine and this is what we have in Romy. The story was full of humor, some of it tongue-in-cheek and some of it not so much. The mystery Romy tries to crack gets her deeply into trouble before she finds something she didn’t realize she wanted. There are still bad guys to catch and supernatural beings to find as she trips her way through her tale. Not everything is as it seems, and that cliffhanger leaves us in a chokehold as we wait for the next installment in the series.
It’s exciting and kept me interested. I wanted to be one of the college girls hanging with this group so I could be a part of everything they are. It was fun and scary and witty, and I didn’t know which direction it would turn next. HH is a brilliant author in her own right but when joined by Bam, they produced a paragon of perfection. It was one thrilling moment after another along with all of the college hijinx and a mystery in the making. And it left me starving for more.
#boyfriendgoals Nancy Drew meets WolfTeen
This is soooo good! omg i loved it!! It has a little bit of everything: Action , romance, sarcasm, mystery, LOL, and Bestfriends rock! Also, cupcakes anyone? Romy is on a hunch about werewolves and she wont rest till she finds the truth! But when she meets sexy Kash… proving it might be harder than she thought. especially when he is always one step ahead of her! This story will keep you laughing and hooked every step of the way Must read!
Omg… I got to the last page and I think Heather and Bam broke me. Not only was this book a page turner, this book left me needing more! The writing in this book is amazing! Both authors write like one person. I can’t wait until the next book!!!
A hilariously, over-the-top read with a deliciously sexy streak! I thoroughly enjoyed the abs, sass, and creativity that went into this story. As a book lover and IG’er, I easily related with Romy and her shenanigans. The female friendships set the standard and I loved seeing their love and support for each other. The book itself was made for quoting and kept me laughing at all the snark and throwbacks. Kash’s mix of gruff exterior and crafty playfulness had me melting faster than a popsicle in the summer heat. By the end, I was hooked and trying to sleuth everything out before the mother of all cliffhangers (which I love and was expertly done)! A great read if you’re looking for light-hearted and funny vibes but don’t want to skimp on romance or sexy alphas.
Where do I start with my review of this fantastic story? To sum up the words on how this story made me feel is excruciatingly difficult. What a way to go out of 2019 but with a bang for my last read of the year! Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd knocked it out of the park with this story! These two are a dang dynamic knockout of a duo! The way they incorporated both their personalities and writing styles were flawlessly amazing.
These characters Romy and Kash, this couple GAH!!! I just couldn’t get enough of them!
And don’t get me started on Romy and her best gal pals. Those 3 together are literally the best friends you wish to have in real life. I envied their friendship.
This story packed it all. Suspense. Heat. Holy hotness. And the LAUGH OUT LOUD moments! This story had it ALL!
Don’t believe me? Well, grab this book! I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed. And another guarantee is you’ll be screaming for more! Because I know I am!
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I’ve read this book multiple times now as it’s one of my go to re-reads but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I loved this book. I was hooked and drawn into this world that Bam and Heather have created from page 1. I totally love the friendship between Romy, Talia and Anna. Everyone definitely needs friends like them. Romy, is an avid reader, a bookstagrammer and a college student when she’s basically transported into the plot of the book, as she finds out that werewolves are real and is drawn to the guy she’d seen k*ll another werewolf aka Kash.
Kash tries to scare Romy away saying that she doesn’t belong in his world as he knows how dangerous it can be and after seeing his mum become a shell of her former shelf after losing her mate, his dad he doesn’t want to see that happen to his mate Romy. I loved the chemistry between Romy and Kash and they just work as Romy isn’t afraid to stand up him which makes sense, as once they’re bonded she’ll be Alpha Female of his Pack since he’s now Alpha after his dad was m*rdered. I thought it was cute how Kash calls Romy Pepper, because of how her freckles pepper across her nose. Lynch, Kash’s best friend and their Pack Beta totally cracked me up with the little he was in this book.
There’s multiple college girls gone missing and Kash, Romy and his Pack find out that there’s another Pack in town that are traffi*king the girls, then changing them into wolves so they can then impregnate them as the babies will all be born wolves so their Pack can gain more power. Man, Anna’s boyfriend Brody is a complete do*che and there’s definitely something up with him. After the way the book ended I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next and what direction the authors take it. All I’m saying is heads are going to roll when Talia finds out. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.
5 stars for The Girl Who Cried WereWolf by Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd. This is book one in the Of Fates and Fables series. OMG I LOVE ROMY! I think this book has some of the best one- liners ever. Just saying! Romy sees something she shouldn’t, she sees a werewolf. For some reason she is more intrigued by him instead of afraid. This is changes everything for her. Everything about this book is fantastic. I mean how could it not be with both Heather and Bam writing it. It is funny, sassy, sexy, romantic, suspenseful, and so much more. Romy and Kash are fantastic characters. I got all the feels while reading the book and isn’t that what we all are looking for when reading. Warning it does have a cliffhanger. I am extremely ready for book 2.
Original!!!!
Up to date in both writing and current events, this story is enthralling. Loving me some werewolves!!
I don’t know if I want to scream or not. And I’m certainly not certain if I loved the book or not. On one hand, I liked the story and the interaction between the girls was hilarious. They were a riot. Kash, at the beginning was great too. I loved the banter and the snark he had. There are quite a few lines that had me laughing out loud and I’m listening at a library. Let’s not forget the part where the book reviewer main character was reading another one of the author’s previous books. Ha! The adulty parts were perfect too.
On the other hand, speaking of endings, Ugh! Huge cliffhanger. The mother in me cringed every time the girls went to the bar, the frat house, or even the living room. They were drunk more than they were sober and the guys were too touchy. Do I even have to mention the cupkini? I found myself quoting Kash, “It’s too dangerous.” Then I thought back to when I was in college and the descriptions were pretty spot on. I might have mentally blocked them out. Inward cringe.
Regardless, the story was fun and quick paced. I think my favorite part was the deployment of the Home Alone defense.
I definitely want to thank Heather and Bam for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook Arc in exchange for my honest review.
Love it !! Book boyfriends are real and the cliffhanger is even more REAL !! Now to wait for the 2nd book…….
Brilliant!!
This book was hard to put down!! The character feel real and I felt I was able to relate to them. The storyline is exciting and keeps you in suspense along with fun and friendship. Remy and Kash are great characters and have you laughing out loud at times with their banter and their relationship is believable and hot. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes next as the ending has left me needing more with its cliffhanger!!
Brilliant debut story for Bam Shepherd congratulations and another fantastic read from Heather Hildenbrand.
Seriously, I do not know how to start this review about this AWESOME book. Authors, Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd have left me speechless with their AMAZING book. Especially since “The Girl Who Cried Werewolf” is a debut book for author Bam Shepherd. Well done ladies!! Romy, professional book blogger starts to stalk a sexy werewolf who is also stalky her. As a reader you can relate so much with the main character. The “werewolf” oozes sex appeal and you can’t help but be drawn to him. Supporting friends/characters are amazing; the kind of best girlfriends you would want in your corner. Of course, the ending will make you want more. I’m looking forward to the next book.
I love this book. I love that it’s not the same as all the other shifter books. It does follow every shifter story line and I love that. Wants I started to read this book I couldn’t put it down. It has suspense and comedy which I love in a book. I can’t wait for book 2.
I couldn’t put this book down. I started reading & then all of a sudden I was at 90%! It’s funny, steamy, & entertaining.
The men are hot & the women are bad ass! I very quickly fell in love with all of the characters.
I think Talia is my spirit animal!
The ending will definitely leave you NEEDING more.

I highly recommend this book! Wow, this book ticks off all the boxes that us paranormal romance readers love! The humor is outstanding, it really balanced the story out. The flow is smooth and fast, the world building is good, the story pulls you in right from the start. This is a “can’t put it down” type of book. The main characters (Romy & Kash) are great, they feel like real people, not made up characters in a book (except for the werewolf part LOL). I liked that their relationship develops & has all the “feels” with it. Kash definitely makes good book boyfriend material. I liked the close friendship between Romy, Anna & Talia. I even liked Lynch. They made great secondary characters that help the story be deeper & richer somehow. They are strong secondary characters that could even support their own story down the road, and I would totally read their stories. I anxiously look forward to book 2!
So I was warned before I started reading this…. but that didn’t prepare me at all. Nope, not one little bit. I should have taken the warning more to heart, really I should have. But enough about me and my stomped on feelings….
This book is just freaking awesome and amazing. I felt like I was one of Romy’s roommates and was sitting there drinking a Midnight Kisses with them. And Kash? OMG, he is just drool worthy and if I lick him can I keep him? Ok, back to the book…. seriously if you start reading this, don’t plan on getting anything else done until you get to the last page because you will not be able to stop. It has everything you need in it. I really need more like right now
Holy book boyfriend! I could not put this book down, one second I’m on page one next thing I know I’m at the last page begging for more! Bam and Heather make such an amazing team, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would! I’ll be impatiently waiting for book two.
